#UC Berkeley vs UCLA

i have a friend who made a similar decision, chose berkeley ds over ucla data theory
resources and networking are way better
Interesting, thanks for telling me
bro if you're eecs go to berkeley fs
a bit unrelated but how do you guys think ucla's data science major is?
its like a rebranded version of the statistics major
You mean the “Statistics and Data Science” major rigjt
yeah
hmm i dont know much about it
all i know is that if you do data theory basically plan on going to grad school, idk about S+DS lol
i think S+DS also has a large portion of people going to grad school after but def a decent amount going to industry
I see thanks!
Since I’m on the fence between the two should I just choose the most affordable option after aid?
If it’s negligible then… probably Berkeley ? Lol
I feel like choose where you feel the most comfortable and fitting
Like visit both their admitted days
That’s what I would do
Cuz you can’t go wrong with either
That too. I’ve been to UCLA a few times and I love the campus. But I’ve never been to cal yet. Will be going in 1.5ish weeks tho lol
Nicee
I been to cal like 2 years ago or something I think the campus is fine but ucla campus is def better
the difference likely won’t be big because they’re both UC
but i would def pick berkeley eecs
massive massive prestige difference between berkeley eecs and ucla cs
is berkeley's culture like overexaggerated
i always hear people talking shit about it 😭
Yea fr. 😭😂 I feel like it is since the people spreading these rumors are usually not even students
i think the culture def exists
see: shewchuck or whatever on reddit
but my cal friends
they’re all living life fine
so it’s prob over exaggerated lmao
why cant ucla and uc berkely become one cshool
imagine a school with ucla campus food location and cal programs for the stem stuff
and then a private unis class size
😭
😂😭
EECs trust
I'm starting to consider it more
I think this conversation will springboard once Berkeley sends out the rest of decisisons on March 28th lawl.
Ye
Did you apply? If so what major?
