#UMD vs GTECH for instate MD

I mean... without any other info, its hard to give you an accurate answer. Just by cost UMD sweeps though
Georgia tech is much better for cs. But if your parents aren’t chipping in then go to UMD.
I'm in the same situation and I would say GT if its comfortably affordable as the base salary with would make up for the cost pretty quickly. It's definitely the better CS school too.
Do take into account that tech salaries will drop by atleast 25-30% when the job market gets back to normal
In the current stage of the industry, I wouldn’t justify taking GT over UMD… especially for that cost difference. The next two years are going to be an absolute nightmare for internship and job search in the CS field and I don’t see how the extra investment would yield better returns
Is GT CS a better program? Objectively, yes.
Is it worth paying more? That's a personal question. So many subjective factors will affect your decision.
Yes, a better program such as GT will offer more opportunities. but at the end of the day, it's your skillset not college name that matters, especially for CS jobs.
