  • Location/Region: literally anywhere in the world, i’m most prob not looking at US state schools since I’m an intl student.

  • Major: Finance // Econ

  • GPA/Test Scores: (as an intl, difficult to calc. my gpa but i’ll try converting for my US friends)

GPA: 3.7 (roughly)
SAT: 1490 superscore

GCSE: 2A* 4A 1C 1E
AS Level: ABB
A level (predicted): A*AA

  • **Costs:**I have no money

  • Schools applied to:
    Harvard
    Yale
    UPenn
    Vanderbilt
    WashU SL
    NYU (stern)
    Notre Dame
    Colby
    Emory
    Fordham
    Georgia Tech
    UMN
    UMiami
    Tufts

Babson —> rejected
Tulane —> deferred

  • Additional: My bad grades are in subjects that aren’t related to my major.

I have an above average EC profile

You have ABB and applied to Harvardand Yale?

versed garden
#

No expectations of getting in

#

But also those are my AS grades, not my A level ones

drowsy moat
#

ah I see, the screen cut off right at that point

#

but yeah, with your 9-11 grades those are out of reach

versed garden
#

Yeah definitely, just one of those ‘I could be the 1 in a million’ applicants

#

What are your thoughts about the rest though?

drowsy moat
#

Mostly out of reach. Fordham UMN could work out

#

but you need a ton of aid, which isn't gonna happen at those

#

Are you from the UK?

versed garden
#

Nope

drowsy moat
#

where?

versed garden
#

Middle East

drowsy moat
#

is there a cheap option at home for college?

versed garden
#

There is, and that’s probably where I’m gonna end up going

drowsy moat
#

100% that should be your plan

versed garden
#

I’m thinking about schools like Bocconi or Erasmus in Rotterdam

#

Significantly cheaper

drowsy moat
#

Are they? For international students?

versed garden
#

relative to US universities, yes

#

tuition for Bocconi is 16k EUR

#

Erasmus is about 10-11k EUR

drowsy moat
#

oh, for the US sure

#

i meant compared to your option at home

#

remember oyu'll have to live in those places, which aren't cheap. EEspecially the netherlands, which is encouraging international students to look elsewhere

versed garden
#

going full pay to like UMich - 80k/year just is disproportionate for example

#

while paying around 20-25k for a school like bocconi would make a lot more sense is a lot more in reach

#

I don’t know , I’m sorta hoping something just sticks with one of the schools I applied to - especially UMiami

drowsy moat
#

Miami is far more selective than most peopel think. My 4.0 student from Ukraine got deferred EA

drowsy moat
#

So that helps a bit

versed garden
#

My counselor also put UMiami over every school on the list

#

for my ED II

#

What do you think about schools like Colgate?

#

Baylor?

#

Villanova?

#

Wesleyan University

drowsy moat
#

Good schools, but you have no money

versed garden
#

All meet demonstrated need

Long shots?
