There are a lot of universities in the US that are diverse, research oriented, and very rigorous, but a couple that I suggest are UCLA, MIT, or UT-Austin.

I read that UCLA most likely won't give aid to students who aren't US Citizens or Permanent Residents, but I think there are scholarships for international students in the US
