#Military Academies (2023-2024)
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
I have a friend who is going to USMA and he wanted us to do the academy recognition thing at graduation, but I convinced him to do it at Senior awards. Nobody wants to watch other kids getting stuff at graduation. They just wanna watch their angel walk the stage.
yeah fair enough....
How does that work?
Like do u put ur schools in the scholarship app
What if u get rejected from the school
I never understood that
You pick a list of schools that you plan to apply to. Order matters (I THINK) for USMA, but not for USNA or USAFA, and if you get the scholarship, you still have to actually get accepted to the school
There is flexibility for switching the school you use the scholarship, as long as the detachment at the school you want to change to has space.
My future daughter: "Yeah my dad's sweet, he wouldn't hurt a fly"
My honest reaction:
Yea same 💀
Anyone else feeling like rotc would’ve been the better option over a service academy? Sometimes i wonder why i committed to West Point when AROTC gets me to the exact same place
anyone have family ever go to a service academy? is cross-commissioning a real thing at graduation or is it impossible
Might ghost USMA and go to UT or UMich ROTC /s
VERY infrequent
Like 3 or less grads each year
Also, just some input, I honestly think you'd get a better education at USMA than UT, as I have friends at both schools. If anything I'd go to UMich over USMA
oh fuck.. i love both the army and the navy lol. I wish I could do 4 years in the army then 4 in the navy
VINING
goated asf
you can always interservice transfer after your first 4 years
^ what he just said
inter-service transfer is pretty easy to do compared to cross-commissioning
I felt like that for a little bit too, while the naval academy is my first choice I think I'd be equally happy during rotc though
Ayo same
Ahhh. I just got my last college result and got into Princeton
Doesn't change where I'm going, but I actually went 10/10 and I'm kind of dying a little
damnnn
congrats bruh
congrats!
Thanks! I am pretty excited, even if I'm not going
u get to tell everyone at afa
"i got into cornell but i CHOSE to be here"
🇺🇸 💪
Technically Princeton, but same thing
My dad did Army ROTC at Princeton but even if I wanted to do ROTC instead of an academy, I probably wouldn't go
goated ???
❓
Hahaha! Cornell would probably have been better for a STEM major though
yeah thats what ive heard
nah ur goated bruh
r u gonna go for a rated thingymabob
🛩️
Not sure about flying. I don't want to end up flying commercial when I retire/leave the service though lol
I think being a test pilot would be really cool though
how come
they make bread bruh
fr
That's true. It just seems like a pain job.
air force intelligence officers seem pretty cool
Yeah, that does look interesting if I wasn't trying to get on one of the trips to Mars lol.
badass death wish
What a way to go though!
Is it possible to decline usma appointment after initially accepting it
true lmao
ask your field force
but also why 💀
yesterday went well to say the least and i have rotc
nah im fully committed to usma
vandy = a bunch of nerds anyway
vanderbilt is a poverty franchise
vandy over usma is a WILD thought
IDK about USMA, but USNA and USAFA you can decline. Apparently you can just not show up for intake, which seems kind of a dick move since someone else could get that spot, but still.
hey guys ! i will be doing navy or air force rotc at yale or harvard next fall
Good shit bro
i havent even heard back from wp or usna ngl
Wluld you go to a service academy over yale
eh mb usna but yale nrotc unit really carried my ahh so p sure im goin there
i talked to the roo at harvard/mit and we didnt fw each other ngl idk how i got in yesterday
My brother got rejected by usna but did NROTC at rice
Good shit bro im happy for you
u too bro wp is tuff
but also, go navy beat army
sink navy grah
Rahh
valid...
Anyone else committed to a service academy, did you guys withdraw everywhere else?
I have but I've declined all schools except Michigan and USC. I'm about to decline Michigan soon, I think
I want to keep something, in case some weird accident or illness happens
Got into Princeton yesterday, told my parents I got into Princeton, and they said, "Have fun not accepting." lol
I just got rejected from umich lmao which I had as my first choice school for nrotc
damn sorry brother
do u have crazy ecs
nah annapolis is my top school
I'm waiting on that, and I just applied to umich for the hell of it
I would definitely say I have good ECs, and academics
I also have uw madison and purdue as my second and third choices which I got into just fine
Yea im hanging onto UT Austin incase i break my leg or smt
UW Madison is such a pretty school
Lmfaoo I don’t realize this was a thing
As you should. Are you from Texas? We're going there next weekend for the eclipse. My Unlce is in Plano
I got WP loa I woulda def got hype with yall here if I knew this thread existed
Yea. I got into UT on appeal so nothing official on my portal but the rotc guy sent me an early congratulations and email n shi
I was cap’d initially (before rotc scholarships)
That's awesome. Congratulations man
Ut is fucking weird
I got rejected by ut, waitlist by michigan, got into vandy
😭💀
Pulled declined vandy, pulled myself off Michigan waitlist
I didnt like vandy when I visited at all
yo anyone done the police record check?
@quartz bane have you done the police thing
Yeah
Print out the form and then go to the police station and they’ll fill it out it takes like 10 minutes
did you upload it or mail it
Upload
ok thanks
Changed my name... I need to manifest ts
Don't even believe in that BS but I'm hanging onto my last thread of hope 😭
Sending all the acceptance vibes your way
lol tyty
i believe in you notgeorge
the rower of Military Academies (2023-2024)
I will always remember you
HAHA
Well on the upside there's 2 weeks left
dude i might have to go to NJ
so not a whole lot of waiting left
there are no beginner friendly rower clubs that are responding
i hope you get into USNA bruh u deserve it
go army beat navy though...
How far is Port Rowing?
🚬
theres row new york which seems awesome but
Most are further east or in NJ
they simply arent responding
do you know any that are near newark or big towns
so i can take NJT there
im right by penn station so NJT is super convenient
Yeah the club I row for is in that area lol
Nereid Boatclub
It's like a 10 min drive from secaucus station tho
^ Have u tried calling Row NY?
Might honestly
they just seem awesome
they're not too far from my school too
I'd recommend you try that
If you exhaust all possible forms on contact, then resort to further clubs
This is surprisingly not terrible
yeah im <5 min walk from PABT so its actually really good
fr
not tryna go to NJ 4-5x a week 😭
harlem river i believe
they say its 8-12 novice but then have tryouts
i submitted an interest form when i first talked to you abt rowing
ill call them once easter passes
My team has novice but still has tryouts
It's basically just to make sure you're physically capable of rowing
you're like deep NJ right
I live in deep nj but drive like 35 mins to my boathouse
so the club is in less-deep nj
fire
Manifesting that shit leggooo
THANKS DAWG
LETS GET THIS SHIIIIIII
THE ONLY EASY DAY WAS YESTERDAY
🔥
LETS GOOOOO
HOLY SHIT HELL YEAH DUDE CONGRATS
OMG! Congratulations man! @random needle
GO NAVY BROTHER
Congratulations @random needle but its still go army beat navy
Thank you everyone!
I couldn't have done it alone. This is the result of 2 years of blood sweat n tears. I def wouldnt be able to do this without r/a2c.
🔱🔥💯
Thanks man🔥
But also
55-62
2 win streak. losses in the past dont count fr
its current day that matter
btw, when did u hear back from them / get the verdict?
Literally yesterday
Okay so I'm still in this 😭😭
The embassy's defense attache officers took me to meet and broke the news
I was under the impression that no one gets in during April
Dude from today to I day
YOU ARE STILL IN THE FIGHT
HELL YEAH RAAAH 🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸
Change tjat goddamn tone man
U will go to usna this june
Manifest that shi
Oh no when we die they will look at the total score
And they will see that the GOAT won
It's literally the mascot
GREATEST OF ALL TIME

sorry whose getting absolutely torched in star series rn?
Whats that
oh all the army navy games for the sports are star series
like army beating navy at baseball gets army a star
oh shit nah navy's winning nevermind
for now,...
||i only watch superbowl for half time shows||
||most of the time idk whats happening||
Nuh uh
That's right, I remember that you're an international now. Glad it all worked out for you! Have you ever been to America?
We get Navy at home this year 🏈
Nah I only watched movies
Small town vibes>Cities
You'll be in a great part of the country and Annapolis is beautiful. Not anywhere near as beautiful as Colorado, of course, but I might be biased
annapolis is a bit larger than a small town but its great
very friendly
ohmygod are you that mongolian dude on service academy forums
Allegedly?
Lmao
Yea I am
WAIT
I saw some vids
The place is beautiful
Oh Colorado is great no doubt
I really wanted to check out Casa Bonita if I got there
Theres a pretty big Mongolian community there
hell yeah
Oh man, you kind of have to if you visit Denver, especially now that it is open again. It's like required. However, you may never want to go back again lol
Man the SAF is famous lol
Mainly some crazy parents
I stalk that place all the time
It's a great place for advice, especially the search feature, but some of the parents who post on behalf of their kids are a little yikes
Still, Ive been given some great advice there
What am I expecting lol
i hate that place
It's useful for the search engine, but some of the parents who post on behalf of their kids are so cringe
nearly shat bricks when I read the email
LFG DUDE CONGRATS
BANG
Rahh
Go army beat navy 🥷🤷♂️
Nah theyre lame
Thats cold tho
beat army
beat air force
and all the other schools
really stoked to have received this NAPS offer
congrats man
you went through DODMERB and stuff right
i wish i had done the USNA app
damn bro
i just logged into my usna portal for the first time since last year
yeah I was DQ'd
you got a waiver?
sure did
DODMERB is what I'm worried ab ngl
it was requested for usna but not usafa which I also applied to
it was for a shellfish allergy
bruh what
I went to get tested for it and it turned out that it already went away
I told them that I had a minor allergy and it was listed as "acute"
which was kinda ridiculous
damn bruh
i had "light asthma" from 3-13, never had an attack or anything
im prolly gonna get DQ'd for that
doctor said i dont got it anymore
dub
I've heard that as long as the history is before the 13th birthday you should be good
yeah I had asthma as a little kid too
It was low key after 13 maybe into 14
But I might just put that it ended before 13
Like I can run and shit now I'm chilling
Not even tryna be a pilot lol
(going for AFROTC)
DODMERB is the killer of dreams fr
fk dodmerb
Fr bro
im so happy i got qualified without trouble
soo grateful
ik friends that are waiting waivers
Waivers man
I can't believe that some academies just DONT request a waiver for you
for USMA
yea
If you get a scholarship they auto request a waiver
i almost chose rotc over usma
If you're non-scholarship you can ask cadre to request a waiver
Also I want a chill college experience
are you gonna do rotc over an academy?
i never applied for that one
I'd only go navy with NUPOC since I wanna do nuclear engineering
Fr
are you a junior
Yea
ohh nice
NROTC is open, made an acc but I'm prolly not gonna apply for the scholarship
isnt ROTC about to open
I'll probably do just air force, if I don't get the scholarship then I'll just do GMC
You missed like 2 boards
It's actually crazy how important getting the app in before october is
Yea
yea. helps with admissions to a lot of universities too
Like you just increase your chances
Yeah I heard that
Some guy got NROTC to schedule a yale interview a few days before ivy day
i got into Vandy, UT, Austin, UMich, USMA, Penn state with lower-scores than what those schools typically have
bc ROTC im pretty sure
chemE, 1360 SAT (test optional everywhere 💀) barely top 15% of my grad class
Or only scholarship to ONE school
im not sure bc ur doing AFROTC
but for NROTC and AROTC, you choose top 5 and top 7 respectively
but for NROTC and AROTC, you choose top 5 and top 7 respectively then when you accept the scholraship it goes to ur top 1.. if you wanna change schools, say you get into a safety in october and you accept the scholarship in october but you get into god damn Harvard in March, you can transfer the scholarship to Harvard so long as it was on ur list
Wait are you fr
You can change it?
That's HUGE
THATS HUGE
Oh my god
yea its light
All that + Penn state and RPI
Forgot to add those lol
My gut tells me I'll be deciding between SUNY stony brook, Penn state, and RPI
All 3 have the three ROTCs
with ROTC i feel like you lowkey got a 11-25% at at least one of those in ur reach schools
try to get the scholarship ASAP
like when it friggin opens
AFROTC has been HALVING their type 1 scholarships--the full rides--these past few years
Like HALVING
That's insane
Honestly I'd fuck with a type 7 for my state school and go to stony brook
i'd apply to NROTC and ARTOC tbh
I can literally commute there from home
Ya think?
are you DEADSET on only serving in the AF
Low key
ChemE too!
The army corps of engineers gonna send u around the globe
But navy nukes I was reading had some pretty bad experiences
i think you can get a AFROTC T1 as long as you dont fuck up the physical test and interviews
does afrotc even have test lmao
That's why I'd only do NUPOC to get a propulsion design desk job in DC
i wanna go into infantry lol
Apparently I'm decent at oration so I think I'm set for the interview
I have an idea on what to talk about
chemE will be after the military
Mad respect bro
maybe masters at UT
My uncle-figure (weird ik) enlisted into the infantry, got out, ROTC, back to the infantry
Now he's a cop
lowkey wish i applied to USNA and USAFA too..
yea
No use whining though
I'll probably be super sad though
If they decline my waiver or some shit
AF physical test.
Enough said LOL
lmao
i mean inter-service transfer still happen all the time
idk how much you can bank on that tho
i was talking about if you didnt get AFROTC
oh
tbh the only reason the scholarship is big for me is cause of the waiver they ask for you
im fine with going without a scholarship
the money is just a plus
yea pretty much
yeah that sucks
if i dont get the scholarship ill just glaze cadre once im inside so when i do the dodmerb sophomore year they ask for a waiver
oh word
max is 140/90 or smt and i was 138/78
god wanted me in fr
no
nothing questionable about my health except blood pressure
i got perfect hearing, perfect eyesight
im just tryna get a chill job at an AFRL why do I gotta be behind-enemy-lines-health ready
i couldve gone USAFA i think
😭
i think i wouldve gotten in too..
my congressman is a bitch tho, bro only nominates you to one
i know they dont like doing multiple noms
but they're willing
at least in my area
mines stupid
what part of the US are you in?
and im in texas so banking on a senator nom to a different academy is dumb
i actually got a senator nom in texas somehow
my stats are lowkey shitty
there must be hella people
so idk
new york (especially my CD) probably doesnt have the most SA applicants LOL
yea the staffer called me saying 10/800 ppl were selected for the USMA nom
dude congrats
i thought getting the nom was a task you had to do
thats crazy
whats considered a long essay?
my rep's essay had no limit just "as much the page fits", i believe my two senators were 500 words on pretty much all their essays
@cosmic gyro for next year you guys should make the military academies thread include ROTC
Cruz only had 3, Cornyn had like 7 dawg
nice man
im going to SLE at west point with a buddy from school
should be an interesting experience
i got denied by SLE LOL
LMAO what
im sure USAFA's is harder
that is quite the tale
they tell us how 40% of SLE kids get into the academy
but thats definitely peculiar LOL
not good enough for SLE, good enough for a senator nom in texas and an appointment
the SLE staff didnt fw u LOL
or maybe they wanted other kids to have a chance to see west point
knew you were gonna get in
🤷♂️
theyre opps fr
ima crashout on em when i see em
jk
i had to go to Navy's 🤮
jk i met some dope ppl there
🤣
but SLE looks sick ngl i was looking at a couple trailers
do you think its possible to do infantry for 8 years (service commitment) then join air force and maybe become a pilot?
i genuinely wanna know
if ur in the infantry you'll probably keep up a good level of fitness
its a minute from now idc
you're probably gonna get better advice from an AFofficercruiter
than some junior interested in AFROTC
lmao
but honestly i dont see why not. itll probably be hard as hell though
most pilots are USAFA
and then a handful of ROTC
i dont even know if OCS shoots out that many pilots
i wanna either go infantry or special forces rn tho
SF !!
my goal in the military is POLAR opposite
im tryna be in acquisitions / project management at AFRL 😭
literally 0 deployment apart from FGO volunteers
nicee
who knows, a lot can change in 4 years. maybe ill do some shit like you
yesssss desk jobs are superior
you will have joints
but fr infantry is tough as fuck
if u do that ur cracked
ask them about the z sweep to see if they remember lmao
you went to SLE? what is that lol
are they gonna IT me
i had finals during sle but i went to boys state right after
and our gov elect was this dude named z
he was apparently an uh
interesting character at sle
lowkey just ask them about z the sweep thing might be too niche
boys state was soo ass lmao
in texas at least
not me lmao
i emailed a bunch of legion posts in manhattan nobody responded 😭
i wanted to do boy state
rip
illinois was awesome we jan 6thed a senate meeting
i didnt know i got into boys state till like May
LOL now im really missing out wtf
that sounds sick
are you going to usma @umbral dew
and had like a low level civil war between counties
uchicago rotc
army?
go army
oooh
CRACKED?
probably that over infantry tbh
???
ill prolly run into you then lmao
e.e
that 4 year scholly hits like crack to the admissions department
did you hit the 1st board
yeah
yea bro they love it
uhhhh
are you like army family from the revolutionary war or something
i got into Vandy nad i know damn well i dont belong there
i got a 1360 on the sat
lmao
3.6 uw gpa, 1500 sat, ill be first gen army
varsity track and climbing
damn nice
bro 4 year scholarship is so nice
dude why is air force so stingy with the 4 years 😭
air force is just stingy bro
i got into UT chemE non-auto admit and i dont have a single STEM ec
yea bro
goddd
they kicked a bunch of guys out over covid too
id crashout
This video was august 2022 though
Maybe they shot up
You think that info is public or you gotta FOIA it
Cause I'm not FOIAing that LOL
Cba
We never said it wasn’t allowed?
i thought itd be nice if that was clarified
personally i'd name it "Military Academies / ROTC" but it works as is rn.. most ppl gon come here to talk about rotc anyway
Yeah so it’s not really needed
yea
fr thats what i was thinking
Still awaiting a response from USNA...
I'd be really happy with an appointment or NAPS, hopefully not a WL but I'll take anything over a rejection lol
Still haven't decided where I'd go if I don't get in, so hopefully I won't need to 😭
what else have you gotten into
Colby, Northeastern, WPI, Florida Tech
All with merit but varying scholarships, and a full ride at florida tech
northeastern is good
Solid schools but they don't even compare to usna
If I could get in, cryptologic warfare or cyber warfare
I'm going for CS so that's by far the most compelling
oh word
same bro
^would prob double major in CS/Cyber ops
ive prolly said it already but im shooting for NucE or electrical
We're still in this man 💪💪
from what my BGO told me
so if I get dropped from AFROTC id definitely do NUPOC and be a naval reactors engineer
Thatd be sick
i still have like 2 weeks until i have to be worried
april 15th right?
lol mine told me the same thing
NucE is awesome
nah she told me like until may
That's what my uncle taught in, and what my friend applied for
sub and SWO (N) have bad quality of life apparently so no NROTC for me!
NRE seems like a fire job though
niceeee
it sucks that a bunch of unis dont have nuce
so i have to settle for EE at state colleges n shit
do ECE ‼️
stony brook has ECE
i was a CS guy until very recently
like COMPLETELY cs profile
i was gonna start doing hackathons and shit
but nukes are the way .......................
computer chips for nukes ??
FR
honestly most terrifying major
I don't think anyone in their right mind would fuck with a NucE major
yes
you can quite easily create weapons that could destroy the world
but instead you chose to create renewable energy
but one angry week and 🌎->💣
LOL
yes.,......... fear me,,,,,,,,,,
i am become fission............. splitter of uranium-235...........................
lmaoo
And hey, you can still do hackathons as an eng major
I run my school's CS club and a lot of the competitive kids are prospective eng and applied maths majors
We'll be in NYC in a few weeks acc for the cornell hs coding competition
bro
prob like the safest part
its actually really nice at like
early sunset
you just see the water n shit
from the southern tip
dont use the tramway
use the F train
Yeah that's what we did last year (F train)
and even during the day, the island was beautiful
it was insanely windy tho
yeah its alright .
oh yeah
especially on like
the little hill where the memorial is
its been a while its kinda vague
but you just get a bunch of wind
^ that's where we went and the wind was crazy
was worth the trip tho fs
fr sounds fun
Woo! Congratulations dude! That's so awesome!
AF is the way
Is QOL like your end-all-be-all
Bc if QOL is the most important thing ever then idk if the military is the best thing yknow what i mean?
I dont wanna sound rude, just imagine in 5 years or smt top brass/congress decides to slash housing/pay budget and you get assigned to a job that is a lit riskier than you thought you were signing up for
Like ur stuck in the airforce for 5 years or whatever ROTCs contract is and your personal wants come AFTER the needs of the department of defense.. just food for thought
i’m speaking relatively
like i wouldn’t not join if i didn’t get the perfect job
but i’m definitely hoping for one
plus i’m just generally more interested in the air force
compared to the navy
Yea thats good bc theres a chance you might not have a choice lol
oh yeah for sure
it’s just preference
air force just seems slightly more preferable in my eyes
but honestly
i’ll probably apply all 3 ROTC scholarships
Thanks! I think I’ll love Newport lol
LESSGOOOOOOO
76 days until the adventure begins
Unfortunately I was rejected from USNA earlier today 🥲
Not the end of my ride, plan on reapplying next year
...now I have to decide between NEU, Colby or WPI for CS
Sorry to hear that, man, but sending you all the good luck for next year! I've seen what seems like a lot of people on the SAF get in after applying a second time
Also, great choices! Not sure you can go wrong, but I'd pick NEU
NO
George bro 😭
Are u set on USNA or r u gonna dabble in ROTC now
Dude I'm actually saddened to hear this I was rooting for you
They're missing out on a great midshipman. I'm sure they'll love to have you next year or through some other commissioning process
U got this gang
Already past the ROTC deadline, I'll probably apply to ROTC for post-freshman hear and I still obv plan on reapplying to USNA
Atm leaning towards NEU, but WPI gave me a considerably larger scholarship which is very compelling
NEU is a great school
ROTC gives scholarships junior year and there are opportunities to get it in sophomore year as well
I'm sure you already know all that
You can do the program without the scholarship, maybe it'll help with the USNA app / be the alternative
Absolutely, and it'll be nice for a second source of nom
Oh yeah!! ROTC can do noms
Honestly if I was a rep I’d see your continued perseverance to serve and that would reflect positively in my eyes
Yeah from what I understand the acceptance rate for second year applicants is reasonably higher for that reason
And this year I believe I was a very competitive applicants with my stats/ecs, but so were thousands of other applicants
So hopefully that'll give me a competitive edge next year
You got this george
Umm guys, the westpoint officer guys went to my school and told me that they would "fast-track" me inside if I am interested. Is that even possible?
yeah you got this, I bet you’ll get in on your second try
I heard there’s less spots this year because bancroft is getting renovated
I'm so sorry bro
My heart goes out to you
❤️
As someone who got rejected last year, I recommend you process this first
And then contact your BGO on how to improve
And then get back on the grind
You got this my friend
🔱
ngl i was thinking about rotc too for them
but like i wouldnt rlly want to serve after i graduate
i heard i could be like a national guard once a month for a few years after graduation and that would be enough
bruh thats like the whole appeal
im not sure about navy, but i know NG/reserve commissions are by default in the army
air force is all active duty with a HANDFUL of ng/reserve commissions
u gotta compete for AD in the army actually haha
my appeal is that they pay the tuition lmao
im basically full pay and neu is expensive af
my parents can help me ofc but if they + I can save money somehow itd be great
my parents would rather pay tho than let me go to the military lmao
oh word
yeah NEU is crazy expensive haha
u paying ivy prices without ivy aid
it took me a while but i got mine on board recently (2 year effort)
most people just do what they want regardless of their parents' opinions though. if u really want the money and cool shit to do then AROTC might be good for u
the ng/reserve would let u do a regular job apart from weekly/monthly training
whats arotc
and is there a commitment i have to make past graduation
army rotc
you're a senior now so its too late for the 4 year, but if you're a really good cadet then you can get a 3 year scholarship
i think everyone gets a 2 year later on though
there's a commitment but for the army ROTC is national guard or reserve
the other two are active duty
honestly id start emailing NEU's army rotc people and maybe try setting up a meeting
they'd give u way better advice/guidance than me lol
Army is active, guard, or reserve
still stuck on pending for USNA LOL
4 active or 8 NG/res
getting scared here
you compete for active right?
sorta
seems like he isn't interested in that so
but yeah guard is like one weekend a month for eight years
neu has a solid battalion iirc
that sounds fire
that also sounds fire
once a month for 8 years is fine tbh
seriously reach out to their unit
they love having new guys
i emailed nrotc arotc and afrotc at MIT since i have a tour in a few weeks
im 100% NOT getting into that school but at least i might meet their detachment LOL
ROTC will look good at admissions for sure
ROTC is the only reason i got into UT Austin ChemE t/o 💀
are you serious
yea bro, certainly makes you unique
MIT is one of the few colleges with a NucE program and literally the ONLY with a fusion reactor
that’s a pipe dream for me lol
haven’t ever taken that shit seriously 😭
so you can have it by the time you apply to MIT
and get the noti right before decisions
i got my noti late cuz i applied at deadline and none of the schools considered it
definitely apply at first boards
dude i did NROTC and AROTC in janurary lmfao
i did NROTC like right before the deadline
but it helped my UMich and UT app
I can pass the ROTC physicals (they are INFINITELY easier than the SA CFA)
didn't get my notification until mar 27
oh wow
are you in state
still waiting for USNA to pull!!
my top pick is AFROTC but they only give a few hundred nation wide now
nah OOS
nah you got it 🫡
im stuck on pending which is a good sign i think?
might not be built air force type 1…
fr tysm
at usna?
i think.. i didnt apply to usna but its not over!!
if its not a 'no' then its a good sign
the only academy i applied to was usma which i regret
i wish i applied to usna
but my district only nominates to one
so i wouldnt have been able to finish my usna app anyway
apply to USAFA
i was told by my congressional interview board that i had the highest GPA and ACT/SAT score out of my district (some said highest they'd ever seen coming out of NV-4)
so hopefully that's a good sign!!
NV-4 typically does not fare well with standardized testing
what were your stats? if you don’t mind sharing
yea i got rejected by SLE at usma

SLE and NASS are legit random
they deadass pick random names if you meet a minimum

i did the summer stuff at navy and air force, ended up only applying to Army
academics arent the end-all-be-all tho
my academics were kinda cooked but i had a shit ton of leadership
and a sob story
lmao

but i work 30 hours+ a week, captain of 3 sports, varsity in 4 sports all 4 years, single parent + oldest sibling, club pres 3 clubs
no volunteer hours bc i didnt have time lol
oh shooot! the black letter
oh i forgot to mention 3 year captain for club
at my zoned school if you're var 4 years in 3 sports you get a black letter
nice
it's like crazy prestigious
the only thing i feel like is low-ish on ur app is sports
idk why usna hasnt accepted you lol
my friend got into usna with wayyy shittier stats
it doesn't mention but i am recruited at the d2 and d3 level
usna is on crack
there wasn't really a way to mention that
not good enough to be a blue chip recruit at the d1 level
but i do have offers standing from d3 schools
where are you gonna do nrotc if you dont get in?
ASU
nice
shi tution aint an issue
yeah if u didn’t get USNA
yeah either way ill be debt free!
just really hoping for USNA come monday
no rejection is def a good sign
does usna accept on mondays?
usma accepts on fridays
well like ur portal changes on friday
wait bro
from what i've been reading on forums
i got the VP nom
4/15 is the day that everything's supposed to drop
i got a nom from my senator, rep and VP
how did you
DODMERB took the longest
is it the same process like on their website
bc im a badass
my mortal enemy… i think
rlly? mine cleared in like a week
damn i feel bad for yall 'bad' health mfs
i had 3 correspondences with them
multiple concussions, arm surgery
we’re physically inferior … lol
head split open twice
i put 'bad' in quotes bc lowkey dodmerb dqs for rlly stupid things
if you do nrotc you can reapply with the rotcnom too
prob get in
i think the thing that makes DODMERB annoying is that it’s really black and white
yeah probably i was too late to do everything
did you guys get ROTC scholarships?
im just hoping i didnt get the NV-4 spot taken by someone who applied early
oh did you do the usna app last second
no

i was finished i believe by late dec
army and navy
oh fk that might cook you
4 year full ride?
bc the academies supposedly really care about turning shit in early
oh deadass?
i thought i was pretty on time
like i wasn't last minute
