The schools i really like are SVA, Ringling, and CCAD. I’ve already been accepted to CCAD with a 19k/year scholarship but since SVA and Ringling are so expensive im scared I cant afford it but I really like them and theyve been dream schools for a long time.

  • Location/Region: East Coast US. Close to a large city for networking with many people.

  • Major: Animation

  • GPA/Test Scores: 2.8 GPA and 24 ACT

  • Curriculum: I want to be prepared for the animation industry and create big projects where I can collaborate with others to make something great.

  • Size: small-medium

  • Costs: Im broke as fuck. I need all the aid I can get.

  • Schools You're Currently Looking At: Like I said, i really love SVA and Ringling. CCAD is affordable but i dont like the location and my priority is networking (columbus isnt a good place for that with animation). Ive also been accepted to AAC, CIA, and MCAD. Some universities I was accepted to are NKU and Transylvania but I dont really think I wanna go to a university my dad just told me to apply just in case.

  • Additional: I know I said it already but I seriously wanna be able to network as much as possible and make connections with other people.

Are you set on identified art schools or are you open to schools that are basically art schools? If you're open I would look at Hampshire College and Bennington College. Neither have majors so you have a lot more freedom

#

Also MCAD is good! My film teacher went there and Minneapolis is beautiful!

sorry, just saw this! I’d honestly prefer to go somewhere thats more focused on one thing cuz of adhd. It may sound dumb (a lot of people told me it is 🥲) but ive just always wanted to go to an art school since middle school. I’m also heavily considered MCAD cuz of the 18k/year + laptop scholarship

Have you thought about SCAD? They have an Atlanta campus, and their total enrollment is 12k but about 2k is at Atlanta. They have a pretty good animation program iirc

#

They also have a lot of merit scholarships, and iirc, they don't require essays or portfolios for acceptance

#

Not sure whether they're necessary for the scholarships though

#

DM me if you have more questions (I won't be checking this thread)
