Major: Biology Related
GPA: 3.64 UW, 3.88W
Rank 32/144 (it's not great)
Test Optional
Size: I'd prefer a smaller Liberal Arts university or something (7k or less undergrad students)
Costs: A place that's affordable to attend because med school is going to be expensive
Schools I have applied to: UCLA, Cal, UCSD, UCD, UCI, UCR, Princeton, CSULB, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly SLO, SDSU

Main parts of my application:
Peer tutor for my school, varsity starter 2 yrs for soccer at my school, reached playoffs, volunteered in Ethiopian nursing homes and orphanages (I'm Ethiopian), volunteered as a soccer coach, have taken dual-enrollment CC courses, have extenuating circumstances I've mentioned in my prior applications
Surroundings: I'd like it to not be rural, maybe near a city with like at least 150k or so people and an airport (easier to go back home), but MAYBE I'd prefer East Coast over West Coast?

Other than some of the applied schools I've already mentioned, I'd like to apply to smaller schools with cheaper tuition and plenty of support to help me do what I need to get into a good medical school.

This is meant for my RD applications, so your suggestions would be pretty cool.

Most of ur schools u ranked dont have good premed programs

#

Or arent known for them

#

Brown, Jhu, Boston University, WashU have good premed

#

UVA does too

Boston University is a goood school

#

better than WashU for premed

#

but it's easier to get into

#

but if you're planning on applying for med school, i would just go for the cheapest option possible to save money

#

or try to get a scholarship

potent temple
#

because on one hand the nailed on cheaper ones would be something like the CSUs or UCs

#

on the other id get more support at a LAC, right?

versed swan
#

LACs arent super well known for their stem

#

i dont think even like the top ones have engineering majors

versed swan
#

ohh shit

#

vandy does legacy?

rocky knot
#

but then realised rice better for my major

rocky knot
#

so i'm assuming it plays a decent factor

#

def not as much as ivies

#

but it's a small boost

versed swan
#

whast ur major

#

rice is good too

#

i like their logo

potent temple
#

im not entirely sure about it

versed swan
#

i hope u guys get in early

potent temple
#

potent temple
#

thats what i found

rocky knot
rocky knot
#

it's one of the best med programs but be prepared to lose sleep over grades

#

and social life = library

versed swan
#

ya but reason why jhu is so prestegious is because of the johns hopkins hospital

#

it's like #1 in the world

potent temple
#

id rather steer clear of jhu then would sound like a nightmare for undergrad

#

kinda want a little relaxed when it comes to atmosphere

versed swan
#

nah

#

if ur really passionate for bme or premed

#

i think u would be fine

#

like if we cant handle jhu premed then we not making it through med school

rocky knot
rocky knot
#

plus rice has the small student size ( it has 4k undergrad students)

#

which is what you wanted

#

it's also one of the least toxic t20s

#

it doesn't have any greek life though

potent temple
rocky knot
#

so if you're into that type of stuff may wanna steer clear

potent temple
#

not my thing to do frat

rocky knot
#

yeah then i'd say it's a good fit

potent temple
#

from what i also see pretty good at sending people to med school as well

rocky knot
#

their bme major is well renowned and bio is pretty good asw

potent temple
#

i think ill do some more research but ill prob put it on my list

#

sounds exactly what like id want

rocky knot
#

i don't have too much knowledge about LACs

#

but swarthmore and amherst are both amongst the best

#

and have solid premed
