Additionally Information: I have pretty generic extracurricular activities, including participating in one internship, volunteering at a tutoring center, leader of club, shadowing a position at a local business, pursuing e-commerce through self-initiative, and engaging in recreational coding. Additionally, I completed four AP classes during my high school years.

Oh yeah I know that lol I just thought to include it as part of additional information ๐
Any thoughts though? I'm not super experienced with schools and just need some insight.
uh if u had soime reason ur grades stank in 10th grade you should be fine
im not too knowledgeable on where u should apply tho
Yeah I have extentuating circumstances that affected my mental health and it just all added on top of each other during the tenth grade
Do you think RIT is a good choice for me?
rochester?
yea all i know is that its near new york
okay
rit takes 2/3 of thier incomming cs class in ED rounds
soo its actually so much lower for RD
also its a great safety kinda high cost but decent aid
the cs program is pretty good
i would say worth applying
im applying there ed 2 haha
good luck
thanks
u say i have a good shot?
best of luck to u
if u were not a cs major 100% admit
lol
its hard to say for the cs pool
im saying as a cs applicant
oh yes most definitely
all the smart ones apply for cs
bcuz they dont post acceptance info for the cs department
dw tho u will get in
u have a decent sat score for rit
plus good gpa
show some demonstrated interest u will get in
get an interview with the admission counsellor for ur region
will help u stand out
i was lucky to talk to two proffs for my major and talk with AO looking at my profile
im applying ed 2 so that shows interest
and ive talked to one of the regional officers
like through email
good enough
for some reason to what the AO told me they care about demonstrated interest cuz yield or smth
oh yeah
as long as u done smth its good enough
because at less competitive schools
a lot of kids dont go for rd
so they gotta show interest
kinda showing how they are gonna go
but u dont gotta show interest at prestigious schools because they know u would go in a heartbeat
oh yea definitely
i have been in contact the same bloody school for like 5 yrs now man
but more elite schools dont rlly care about interest
still will get rejected lol
wait
jhu?
bruh wtf
can I get some help here?
so uve talked to them since 8th grade
grade 5 actually
wait
what?
im assuming int is different in grade level
or ur off sum lol
yea?
lol i wasnt serious about jhu at g5 man dww
oh lol
its just that dad kept on going on about amazing thier public health dean was
so kinda got to know alot about the uni
so I'm applying for CS to some pretty good public and state schools
ask away
yeah
and i had 85%, 94%, 75% in my last three years
grade 12 midterms was again 75 and I'm hoping for a 94 in the finals again (board stuff)
cbse ?
I volunteered, wrote articles for a school magazine
and indian national ?
was in MUN for a year
what country ur passport from ?
but i'm a US national
ok phew
because with cbse and those grades
there meaning the state
yeah t50s are a no go
wasn't aiming for them
In all honesty, don't apply to penn state for cs. ive heard that its absolute dogshit for cs
and stony brook
r u submitting sat?
oh damn, I just got in there
yup, 1410
too many people in pen state man
look on recent reddit posts
i m applying to the UTs as safty
ppl are dogshitting on ps cs
although i'm 80th percentile ranked in india
i did see them
but i'm kind of qualifying as in state
ye
dude feel lucky u have an us passport cuz an indian with those grades and without beign rich asf aitn going no where
dw its still better than nothing
damn that doesn't hurt AT ALL
atleast uk ur goin to collage
but yeah you're right
ahaha you're right
umass amherst - 30-35% chance accepted for cs lowell - 95% chance accepted boston 20% chance accepted (if u apply ed) stony brook (35% chance accepted for cs)
apply to rit
its rlly good
and u have like a good shot of making it i think
well I'm applying for EA
COST lol
i mean
68k per year
i and my parents agreed to paying like upwards of 25-30k a year
its not 68 a year
thats before aid
im low income
ppl in my income bracket pay like 20k including room, board, books, tuition, etc
is rochester that good for cs
its pretty good amazing cs co-ops actually
Most schools have good cs. its just the coop program that is rlly good. ur practically set for landing a job out of uni--something that most schools arent good at doing (ranked #5 for coops and interns in the us)
their whole focus is coops and deaf people inclusiveness

they have an undergrad program directed for deaf people
woah
explain
i got accepted btw
just because a school has a 70 percent acceptance rate doesnt mean its ass
and students whp get out of rit literally do not struggle with employment
ur gonna get sweeped up after ur 4 years
didnt say your school matters
ofc RIT is good
and it doesnt matter whether you graduate from MIT or Caltech
it's all upto you
it actually does haha
there is a correlation between employability and the uni u attended
only the first job
it's all about connections
oh yes only the first job yeah
after ur first job ur school hardly matters
haha
same goes for all t20s
mhm
yeah
in terms of CS you'll do great
i just found that out yesterday lol
lol
but tbh ur right i wish i ed somewhere else
i was just scared my stats wouldnt get me somewhere decent for cs
i feel like admissions is very over exemplified
you would have gotten into RIT anyway I think
but don't regret
for cs i dont think so, other majors yeah
it doesnt matter
enjoy dude!
