Schools: Washington University and Tufts University
Intended major: biotech if tufts, bme if washu, maybe compsci minor?
Similarities: prestige, acceptance rate, both suburban or urban i think
WashU
Pros: somewhat medium weather, have a family friend going there right now, pretty buildings, lots of bio courses, prestigious, my dad really likes it for some reason?, heard great things abt the dorms
Cons:
might be hot, very selective/prob wont get in , no biotech major, not much family here, idk how red or blue georgia is but i'm gay, haven't visited, only seen school in videos, scary bc far from california
Tufts
Pros: visited campus and liked it, research yay, biotech major, not too warm weather, i have family within 30 minutes, transportation seems easy cause there's a train line like. 20 seconds from the office, pretty close to boston as well, blue state woohoo
Cons: again probably won't get in super selective, snow, i live in california so idk how to deal with that, i'm not sure it's as good as washu for bio in general?, literally on the other side of the country from where i've always lived which is terrifying
Tiebreaking considerations: how good the respective majors are, social scene (ive struggled with making friends before for sure), support for students, my chances for each school, i definitely like them both a lot so any info on differences would be great
Addendum: i don't want extreme weather, a medium size or smaller school would be preferable
i can't lie they're both almost impossible schools because of my gpa and about average ecs i'm only applying ED bc i have ucs as backup tbh, this is more for me to get a bigger picture of these schools
