This isn't a specific college x vs college y but i didn't know where else to put it so

Anyways this was my original plan: REA Stanford, EA USC, UIUC, UMich, UMass Amherst so I'll get decisions by December and accordingly I can choose where to apply RD. Since all these unis are like different tiers, depending on which ones I get into it, it'll give me a good idea of where I stand and whether I need to apply to more targets/reaches/safeties in RD

But recently I found out that EA decisions for USC, UIUC, Umich, Umass come out only in like January/February which i mean defeats the purpose. Only stanford comes out by December and since it's stanford, it's more likely than not that I'll get rejected and that won't help at all when deciding where to apply RD

So now comes the question

Original plan and do everything possible to get into Stanford bcuz it's low-key my dream and if i get in I'll only apply to 2 other unis RD which will save a lot of time + stanford REA acceptance rates are higher so boost my chances to apply early yk

OR

Apply EA to unis like northwestern, emerson, uchicago, usf, Georgetown, etc so I'll get decisions by December and can use those to decide where to apply RD

please help a girl out 🙏

If your ea decisions matter that much for where you apply rd, then I would do the latter

#

You can still apply to Stanford rd

#

And you can also still apply to all your original ea schools other than Stanford ea + Georgetown, etc
