#HELP: t30s for bme/premed

Ric fits it all, depending on what you mean by lgbt friendly area. The state legislature isnβt, but Houston is blue and especially the college campus is extremely lgbt friendly. Next to the largest medical center in the US with tons of volunteering and it has an open curriculum. However, BME requires a bunch of courses to be ABET accredited anywhere so you would not have as much time as in another major.
If you come in with AP credit for BC, Chem, Mech, E&M, (along with like music theory giving div 1 credit) it would be a lot more open https://ga.rice.edu/programs-study/departments-programs/engineering/bioengineering/bioengineering-bsbe/#requirementstext
current bme major. don't major in bme
Mood
Maybe add duke or brown
Dukebive heard is super restrictive on bme curriculum
MANY schools are
Including cornell
Probably columbia
i like that brown is laid back and good for med, but i dont know much else about it π
^ rice is great
Duke, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, Tufts, UMich Ann Arbor, UT Austin
Though I guess UMich and UT Austin wouldn't give need-based aid out-of-state
Though for targets/safeties to add -
Target: Bucknell, Lehigh, URoch, UC San Diego, George Washington University, Case Western
Safety: Santa Clara University, Illinois Tech, Mount Holyoke
Cmu mid
Cmu to major in bme u have to double major in bme and another engineering major
Unnecessarily excessive for a premed
@uneven mulch rice duh
daamnnn, I didnt even know that
I'm curious if youve looked at a list of "best BME programs in the country" cuz how is Duke not on your list π. Also I would look at CWRU (3 hospital systems within 1/4-half a mile from your dorm, the hospitals are ON campus), and like UNC for premed, they have bme but it's the only engineering major they have so it depends on how extreme of an engineering experience you wang#t.
Emory and Vanderbilt are good for premed. Both have great hospitals that are affiliated with the universities and are in urban areas (Emory a little less so). Not sure about Emory but it is VERY common to double major or major minor at Vanderbilt, you would definitely be able to do BME + Psych there. Emory is likely more lgbt friendly, however contrary to popular belief Nashville is a liberal city, and is pretty accepting (the school even more so).
bad aid :(
