#University of Washington (2023-2024)

ok any aos that are looking at this chat i meant udub trust
cs salary would make up for that :P
ok fair LMAOOO
spend a ton, make a ton more
starting position at microsoft pays, what, 120k?
with like a bit more in bonuses and stocks?
microsoft pays pretty low compared to other tech companies
its kinda weird
google/ meta pay the most i beleive
esp from uw cuz theres a ton of companies directly in the seattle area
how’s weather in washington
right now? cold
does it snow there?
it snowed last night, but none of it stuck
ah
september is still pretty nice most of the time (you can thank chevron for that)
gets colder and rainier as the time goes on
yes
also noticeably more wind
with no wind its slightly more tolerable, more wind its
worse
but still manageable
also dont listen to anyone that lives here and tells you otherwise, get an umbrella
lifesaving if you carry stuff in your backpack
ah
oh bet
I dream blackness
fake wa resident
fake wa resident
u feel like a moron carrying around n umbrella all day tho
just get an umbrella that folds nice and compact
when i toured uw i got this nice umbrella at the hmart on the ave its so flexible and sturdy and it fits in my backpacks side pocket
5’8, its just a big backpack
interesting
hi guys
hello
did anyone get a call from uw?
yeah but i didnt pick up
my friend said he recognized the name from a uw emai;
i searched it up and ig they r from uw
I didn’t
nope
Nah
for engineering do u guys think uw or northeastern better
uw and its not close
idk
i do know that for computer science even tho neu is good udub diffs
Saying what exactly
did any one even get in today
they say it starts releasing by march 1
todays march 1
even if they did release today, would probably be evening
Does it really matter
We find out in the next 2 weeks either way
tru
how do you really get the badge though
badge?
the "I voted" thingy
I struggle to find whatever directs to the acquisition of such an artifact
if you can call it one
First find the artifact where the a2citizens gather to hear crucial information
That will take you to your path to the badge
nvm I found it
though it is worthy of a crackle to call #announcements an artifact
it is worthy of a second crackle upon finding out that UW Madison has the same portal name as UWash, "MyUW"
def uw but its like impossible to get in oos
northeastern is pretty good tho for cs at least
likt t20-30
They sent out a mail saying that it will most likely be next week
ah whatever
friend got into uw cs and some uw people came and gave him this massive box
thats an insane acceptance package
wait uw is out?
oh wait nvm
for him it was
what whennnn
manneee
thats too much im praying on bros downfall
yeah i think northeastern is more liberal arts
Isn't it kinda unethical to take up a scholarship when you know you're not gonna go lmao
the stress is actually starting to get to me 🫠
i mean that’s probably a decent call
if he’s cs both options are about equal but being away from home can be nice
everything else stanford mogs
oos or instate?
instate
oh
udub is great for cs but stanfordis still better imo
there's def a gap between the big 3 + berkely and the rest
isnt berkely in the big 3
mit stanford berkely
Wb cmu?
im doing engineering not cs
coe is simillar
what kind of engineering
oh wait no its not
its like 43% oos
engineering has a 43% acc rate oos?
what’s comp eng’s all my friends applied that
computer engineering
no i mean the acceptance rate
the worse major in allen school (jkjk)
yeah its insanely low
same as cs? damn
cs and comp eng are in the same school
yeah its insane to get into comp eng or cs oos
if you get in do you think you’ll go
depends on the money but prob not
public schools usually dont give much aid
yeah thats fair
you applied for cs too?
yeah
whats your options
wdym
i just gotta convince myself i do
you got close to 1500 sat?
1480
i literally have so much going for me on my app but my self confidence is in SHAMBLES
im sure you got it
youll be fine
i probably shouldnt count on uw with a 3.4 1560 right
probably depends on what major
ye
bioeng
presidential scholars did
did anyone apply comms
nobodys gotten it i think
ik of t20 admits rejected uw so nobody should really count on it
i got into neu just wondering if i should wait on that before commtiting
are you in state
no
How comp is uw business undergrad I can’t find numbers
do you get any sort of aid from neu
its prolly around the overall
im assuming
no but my parents are paying
ehhh id wait
and compare prices
you have a shot at getting in prolly depending on ur grade trend
Yeah collegevine projects me at a 85% but idk how accurate that is. I heard it was around a like 20% but idk
I have ok stats tho hopefully I’m not cooked
my northeastern chances were 11% and i got in
those %'s are far from accurate
nah foster is kinda hard
probably around 20
collegevine uiuc 87% rejected
dont trust
what major lmfao
there’s no exact date, they’re actually starting to roll out some decisions today
its just that most of them will be the 11th-15th
in-state?
think someone said earlier it was just presidential scholars
one of my friends got the big box
when is it coming out lol
when will we know when it's out 💀
will they email us or will it just appear
They will probably mail saying there is a status update on ur UW page
oh ok
Is UW out today? Or just instate?
didnt get anything (oos)
neither, only a handful of students actually got a decision today and it appears to be the presidential scholars
they sent out an email saying most will receive their decision during the 11th-15th of march
plus i think they said they'll notify you when you have a decision available (probably using the email you submitted your app with)
yeah presidential scholars all got visits to their school
checks out, he was talking about how he got a ton of balloons that he had to carry to his car
(now did i get to see these balloons? no, but i believe him 1000% :P)
it's out???
there was definitely balloons
omg that's so cool
one of my friends got one and then someone at my school did as well (im in state btw)
also I saw this and panicked smh
what part of the state?
source?
yeah idk i wouldnt trust collegevine
i believe it's pretty capacity constrained for freshman
getting in as a transfer is easier
dont have official data though so 🤷♂️
just wiat for decision ig
this is what i saw
30-50% being 550-650 sounds odd
though more people would apply
oh yeah its for transfer
i was told dtm for freshmen was about same as cs
so 20-25%
no clue where that data is from tho
they overadmit a lot bc of yield
shiiii h va e ahcance
i have a chance*
🙏
Does presidential scholars mean something at UW or the department of education thing
no
that doesnt necessarily mean you'll go
non-seattle puget sound
yoooo nice
Nvm it’s for in state only lol
1-15th
Mostly 11-15
this is the admit rate for oos general??
or is that like cs specific
cs specifically
but I woudnt be hopeful for the rest to be much higher
cs and comp eng oos are cooked
but the rest should b efine
its like 40%
for other majors
💀
the only reason they gatekeep cs is cuz the whole point is to funnel the smart washington kids into big tech
the school in general isnt that hard to get into
is uw out yet
damn
I expected most competetive majors like the STEM ones to be in the 15-20s for oos
like is it rolling
They are doing it kinda like it waves
You will get it likely in march 11-15 if not earlier
did the first wave come out yet?
I heard the presidential scholarship guys and maybe a very few else got
oh dang
aero 😔
same
did anyone get in?
i thought its not out?
for a very, very small number of applicants (speculated to be the presidential scholars plus a couple extras)
for a large majority of people though, not yet
yeah me neither
I think it makes sense for us non-washingtonians (idk if thats a word) to be later
your decision will probably be sometime between the 11th and the 15th because that’s when most of them are expected to come out
what did you apply for?
I think presidential scholarship is only for instate
yep, washington residents only
could be earlier then?
dunno how many people apply for physics
shiiiiii udub does rolling?
kinda
my best guess is they release them in waves the same way other schools do, to prevent their systems from getting overloaded
bro eveyrones been telling me to lose hope bc that 47% acceptance rate for engineering oos is "false" and stuf 😭
between March 11-15 they said
would make sense
you’d think a school known across the country for its cs curriculum would be able to make a website with a load balancer capable of handling thousands of requests instantly (/hj)
but i digress
11-15 for most
perhaps earlier if you are lucky
and i doubt they do decisions on weekends
bro idc if I get on the last day or sum as long as I get in 😭
i set up a notion calendar for march where every day i can see what schools i might be able to hear back from
their portal is so
its giving middle school just learned html
out of 12 schools i can potentially hear from 9 on the 15th
I told my cs teacher and he said ur cooked
bro just reminded me of that too 🔥
guys
watch me (get) cook(ed)
fuck it thats gonna be my senior year project
THE UDUB PORTAL 😭
infiltrate their admissions team (beg them to let me join) and revitalize their portal
its insane with how cracked and strict their CS admissions are they can't find 1 CS STUDENT to fix their crap ass "portal"
my parents told me im cooked
my uiuc friend who got rejected last year w a mfing 4.7 gpa told me im cooked
i told myself im cooked
wait did stuff come out???
nope
yale school of art website 🧍♀️
how many times do we need to say this, barely anyone got a response so far
u r not cooked
no i saw activity so i thought something happened lol
ah mb then ur fine
neither of us r cooked trust 🔥
honestly as a non-CS major I could just search up HTML and CSS tutorials online today and make a better looking UI than whatever tf the UW ppl were smoking when they made this "portal" ass thing
maybe they r keeping the portal bad as an example for the cs majors
bro so real
i see activity in any of these and my heart starts going crazy
no its to get cs ppl to apply thinking they can fix it
bru
ucsc 👎 (please let me in)
ong tho if i see any of yall in uwcs imma be so happy
wait do we have more
i love all the in state cs ppl but i wanna know what everyone else can do yk
UCLA
bro i wrote my essay about wanting to fix their ugly ass portal (/j but i should've)
honestly there should just be an objectively correct format for a portal
honeslty all the ucs have ugly portals except for merced and riverside
hot take of the night: it should be directly inside the common app
uiuc purdue gtech ones were fine they did the job well and easy to navigate
SHI THERES A STANFORD ONE?
stanfords was fine
you talking as if Stanford doesn't even have portals
UMi(d)ch's was kinda mid
Berkeley and davis are cute and neat
after you log in you just see non-information boxes
the best portal is northwestern it is SO comprehensive
idk why im paranoid i dont have any of my portals done i was the first of my friends to get all my protals done
THIS
berkeley's clap davis's every single day
damn i remmeber getting frustrated at davis
just straightforward “heres what you need”
lol im so cooked for nwestern my midyear transcript is so sus
there’s a school in kirkland called northwest university
it abbreviates itself as NU
me when central michigan university
usc
omg i know someone who committed to colorado mesa uni and she wears that CMU hoodie loud and proud
😭😭😭
guys i got into ucb (university of Colorado boulder 🔥)
well it is indeed mining something
you scared me for a sec
is it not???
i did get into ucb tho lol
bro got into both ucbs 😭
didn't apply boulder 😭
but imma start telling people i go there
why is it school of mines if its not about mining
the number of dms i got after getting into berkeley 💀
well, MIT has a top tier business degree, you tell me
LMAO FR?
wikipedia says it started out as one
search up sloan
but it’s like a lot more now
has anyone here heard of digipen
i feel like i have
oh nope i searched it up i have not
technical college in redmond (about 15 mins east of seattle)
known for game programming and animation i think
never heard of it
i am a cs disliker 😔
i feel like most in-state cs ppl know what it is but nobody wants to go
LMAO SAME
same 😢
LMAOOOO
bro i gaslit myself for like all of imddle school into thinking i loved python and coding and then in hs when i actually sat down to take a cs class i wanted to throw the keyboard out the window
if i forgot ONE MORE SEMICOLON or i foRGOT A SPACE anywhere or oopsies i added an extra parentheses so my code is broken 😭
this was ebfore chatgpt was a thing 🧍♀️
AP CSA is worse though
soph year
they give out scenarios that nobody asked for and tells you that you are wrong if you forgot to look at even one letter in the script
honestly whoever that writes whatever tf is inside the CSA booklet in an actual software working condition deserves to be fired simply because
i just cant sit down to write code
which is weird cause im 100% a writer (and a yapper) so its not like i cant sit still
but code drives me nuts
csa having students handwrite code is the biggest oversight by the college board out of any test i’ve taken
even doing simple code for circuits i was mentally losing it
there’s absolutely no need to be able to write code by hand because nobody reasonably does that
the amnt of complaints from my friends who do practice frqs in csa
csp was bad enough
for me
my school has two cs classes that go beyond csa and they are the most fun ive ever had
my teacher for my data structures class is literally the best person in the entire world and i love her sm
and shes gonna be at my graduation 🥹
OMG SAME SAME
I am just bad at CS thats all
me getting 6/6s on all essays in ap lang
honestly I can see myself writing code being a tool for researching other fields but I can't see myself being actually in cs
pure coding will become obsolete for large portions of human application imo
look what chatgpt is able to do just by touching grass for 1.3 yrs
pretty sure theres some cs classes at uw that (i think they sound like) they dont involve coding at all
you just send in a proposal and get a file, thats what I see ppl doing 30 yrs in the future
wdym
lmao
CSE 131: Science and Art of Digital Photography Covers the fundamentals of digital photography, including computational imaging; the elements of photographic composition and design; and the future of internet-enabled photography.
hm? that's a CS course?
that sounds more like an information sciences course imo
though if they are in the same department then okay
yeah id have thought so too
my dad says cs is gonna be a bad major to go into in the future bc why have human coders that need to get paid when u have ai doing it for u for free 🧍♀️
i wonder if systems design is in cs or info
thats why I am not doing CS
CS is becoming more applied each day because we aren't pumping as much theory as we did, say 30 yrs ago
becauseeee you need the human coders to actually understand how different systems interact with each other and be able to make code that can bind the output of one to the input of another and create entirely new systems
-🤓
whereas Physics is just pumping more as we go, and in case you like application? heres the entire engineering department
LMAOOO ITS OK
true, we indeed need them, but the demand will drop soon
sheerly a shear
im sorry i sound like such a nerd when i say that 😭
such is to be expected of the average a2c dweller /s
right i managed to convince my parents aeroE is super good cause its niche and also not easy to get laid off so jobs r p secure
for sure a drop but it'll be because the requirements will change
it wont be "can you write code fast" it'll be "can you understand how this works and what you need to write in order to make it work"
yes
for years we have been building the ground up
but with the tech of AI we just have to fill in the requirements to let it pump out a model building and we renovate as we go
and renovation requires less constructive workers than just building with scaffolding all over
...close enough
400 level though 😬
honestly I think my potential son/daughter will probably sip futuristic techno tea upon learning how competitive CS used to be when we were HS students
id reckon cs teaching will change drastically too
(even though, imho, it kinda sucks as it is rn)
depends on what is drastically
we just adding stuff on as we go
we still teach what Newton did in physics even though he was long ash underground
honestly GPT technology will probably be an integral part in applied CS curriculum in the near future if it isn't already now
newton 👎
if newton didnt exist i wouldnt have did so bad on that rotational motion test
angular momentum 👎
wait till you hear what Einstein did /srs
if newton didn't exist then we would still be living like babarians /s
but for a serious note, if Newton didn't exist then we would be blaming someone else
the laws of nature are always there, somebody outta find em
gen q do people actually do games as their senior projects
my strategy is to become bigger brain to retaliate
you guys have senior projects?
ok true
no ive just heard stories of ppl doing it as theirs
me when we moved on to gauss's law
actually are senior projects just a hs thing
ok gauss's law is easy i love deriving random stuff from gauss law
me when laplacian operator
oh man theres an electric field? lets insert a gaussian surface
bro
what is that
😭
i dont even know what lagrangrjngjkfsbsd things r
my test is
on monday
me when lagrangian
on series oops
theres 16 subclasses all listed under cse 490
!uwash
It’s sooooo much higher for other stuff. My terrible school has like a 65 percent admit rate overall
does evyone know when they release the decisions
march 11-15 for most
however they've already started giving out a very small number of decisions (for presidential scholars, all of which are in-state)
I wish I applied here
oh damn wait
2023-24 cds got released it looks like
(or i probably just never noticed it before)
damn
i mean ig it makes sense but even still
which turns into
oos cs is a scam
maybe not a scam exactly cuz all you'd lose is your application fee (which may/may not be a lot for you)
but at 2% acceptance
if you think you have a good shot at getting in then maybe
but you’d be competing with other oos applicants and in-state ones as well
trying to get into the uw discord
i know there is one but the invite posted on r/udub is expired
closest i've gotten is getting into the school hub but then it asks for a school email, which i have, but iirc the it dept changed something a while ago so its no longer active
"other than the 2% acceptance rate"
?
Its a competitive program
they have a lot of applicants
and they need to make sure in state people are prioritized because of the new laws relating to that in washington
got in, theres a co28 server already if anyone needs it
do you know exactly which laws those are
i wanna read up on those
it was a few years ago, where UW was over admitting international students for financial gain so the legislature told them off
give me a minute to find it
bro sounds like those entitled ah international students 💀
every state school ever is harder to get into OOS
UTA and UCB both have similarly insane acceptance rates for OOS CS
vro
ucs dont have an instate boot
Most good state schools are <10% for OOS CS acceptance rate
It isn't that crazy
here in NC we have a rule that says that no more than 16% of a public universities students can be OOS
lol UW CS is not ez for in state
im in state and its super self selecting
u have 3.9 GPA IB Diploma ppl applying for informatics or mathematics instead
because literally EVERYONE applies, so anyone who thinks theyre not top of the class doesnt apply
thats what ppl tell themsleves to gaslight
yes
ik cracked asf ppl that dont get in bro
"its super self selecting" as if there isnt like a 13x acceptance rate compared to oos
its definitely not as competitive as berkeley
and if anything oos is def more self selectign
but not my issue UC fucks cali kids over
yeah obv
not even sure why anyone from WA goes to berkeley for CS
idk if its cheaper at uw
everyone who got admitted to both regrets it
but berkeley def has a better program
its much cheaper
It is a state school
significantly
they pay there taxes to fund it
i mean it does kinda depend on scholarships ands tuff
16% is different from 2%
but u have extreme competition for opportunities, stress culture, and u have to focus more on grades than stuff liek research/internships
48k/year vs 35k
like ucs cost as much as purdue for me, and ohio state is 50% cheaper than ucs for me
i mean state schools arent obligated to give oos seats anyway
^
but 2% is still crazy
its like how US schools arent obligated to take internationals
In fact in the case of UW they are heavily discouraged from doing so because of what happened in 2011
literally everyone ik got rejected from UT
imagine 2 people in a 100...
im oos so i avoided uw cs lol im not trynna get cucked by a 2% admit rate
i applied to bsuiness instead
i thought foster was insanely competitive too
oh yeah
midwash
bruh why is nobody submitting scores
test optional it seems
the general policy for uw is it wont look at scores unless it's really close
did yall hear about the lettuce eating club
they dont consider
oh rly bruhhh
im cokoed then
For UW it’s basically “If we are on the edge of admitting or not admitting you, we will look at your SAT and if it’s 1400+ it might push you over the edge and get you in”
^
1400+ 😭
i fucked up by not submitting mine
went test optional
I submitted everywhere I could
I wish that schools started switching back to test mandatory this year 😭
i just forgot to submit for uw lol
ehh it doesnt do much imo
uw aint allat for 1550
its like 10th ranked
for?
CS
Right now it doesn’t but it might start having a bigger impact again
that doesnt mean anything about their admissions criteria tho lol
With the research that SAT is a better predictor of college grades than GPA
wait i think im cooked
median of cs applicants is prolly a 1500
at any point does the application say whether or not you submitted scores
And that it actually increases diversity rather than decreasing it lmfao
wb gpa
no way
actually do self-reported scores count
Can’t tell if this is sarcastic or not
if theres stats backing that up then that would be what you could submit
gpa more imp
i’m cooked
its actually a mix of both
YEEEAAAAHHHHHHH
now im lost
Well yeah but trying to compare two people with a 4.0 GPA academically means nothing
like someone said they only use it if they're on the brink of admitting someone
That’s when you would use the SAT
thats what i was told
The UW is technically test-optional. However, test-optional can mean different things at different schools. At the UW, you will not be disadvantaged for sending low scores or for not sending scores. In fact, when reading your application, the reviewers will not see your test scores, if provided. However, test scores that fall above our middle 50% (see the freshman profile for more information) may be considered for a handful of students who may not otherwise be admitted.
yeah thats true
GPA is completely unstandardized—weird scales, different percentage boundaries, gradebook weighting inconsistency
once test opt is gone tho you wont need as high of an sat either
Like some of my classes used to be 40% tests/projects and 60% homework/quizzes/classwork
most of the ivies had like mid 1400s as their 25th-50th before iirc
Now all of them are 80% tests/projects and 20% homework/quizzes/classwork
we only have one category and thats "assessments" 💀
homework doesnt count
ok found it, in case anyone else needs it:
If you self-report your test scores within your application for admission, you may be asked to provide official scores from the testing agency if your scores are used in our admission decision. We anticipate that this will only impact a small handful of applicants, and we will work individually with those students to ensure we have their official scores.
Does anyone even do it then LOL
I sure as hell wouldn’t
believe or not yes
Yes, as does most of the U.S.
because if u do then u get benefits like retesting and dropping lowest grades
Though you are international so
did you apply cs?
Hm I see
With the 20% at my school I know people (smart people) who don’t do it
Because it doesn’t impact their grade enough
fuusion are you cs
like science classes it was 40% labs, 30% tests, 20% quizzes, 10% hw/classwork
oh
If I don’t get in I’ll be minorly embarrassed
polisci acc rate is not bad
im so cooked
I feel like that should be enough 😭
if my middle school hs courses are bad will they care
for polisci that looks good
cause my high school counted that in my gpa and its bad
No lol
No clue
comes out to like ;l
I hope fr
when it should be like 3gjas
my 3.2 uw 3.5 w gpa 🧍♀️
4.0uw 4.4(+/- .1 i think? idk)/5w
I only took 2 unweighted classes Freshman year
To satisfy our district PE and Fine Arts requirements
And because of that I’m out of the running for valedictorian
Lmfao
our school doesnt do valedictorian
or rankings at all
no school in our district does
with a 2% oos CS im cooked
what are your stats (if you wanna share)
1500 4.0 mid ecs
I applied to ACMS and Applied Math as secondary
I hope that is a little better than CS
Is there a point to putting down ACMS when you can only apply once you’re in the actual school?
idk
no one has heard back yet right?
also does anyone know where to find the PAC to reset my password i cant find it in any emails
presidential scholars have, and maybe a few more but for the vast majority not yet
should be in the first email you got to set up your uw netid
i mean
if u feel comfortable gambling on getting a transfer u do u
uh
if im not wrong
u cant get direct into acms
u have to get in and commit first and then u transfer in
yeah
u cant get direct admit into acms
Maybe then
I selected ACMS in common app as my first choice major so I thought i did mb then
oh ok tysm
i still cant find it, do u know what the email was titled when u got it?
Welcome - UW Student ID Number & UW NetID Instructions
but that was in october of 2021 because i did a uwhs course
so i still have my netid from all the way back then
i got the dune ebook, if i read 3 chapters a day i’ll finish it before i hear back from uw :P
this?
“University of Washington application information”
i did not get that email is that bad
they’ve been emailing me about my application decision tho
how hard is comms major for UW to get into?
lol it’s getting a little too real now 😭
what i really want to know is
why is in-state cs like 20%?
what are the other 80% doing
its competitive af
its one of the best cs schools itw
the other 80%
are getting rejected???
idk what kind of question ur asking
yeah mb that was worded weirdly
i guess a better question is what makes the 20% stand out among the rest
if anything at all
bro
nobody knows what an accepted candidate does better than a rejected candidate for any school
if u ask the mit thread what makes the 5% stand out over the 95%
they wouldn’t be able to tell u either
fair enough
There's actually documentation on UWs rating systen
Someone wrote a book on it a few years ago
They assign two scores from 1 - 9, one based solely on academics, other based on ECs + background + demographic
Everyone starts at a 4 I think for EC score, + 1 for low income, + 1 for URM, + whatever for ECs, something like that
This was before the supreme court ruling
And then there's a cutoff for general admission, it was unclear if DTM is a different process
Also it's kinda commonly know that grad students are hired by big schools to help read apps and assign scores
So yeah ig the other 20% didn't get a high enough score in the two categories 🤷🏻♂️
+1 for low income is crazy
Pretty sure it literally said that in the book
😭
I can try to find source later
Maybe it was like faced challenges for financial situation or sum
So if u show u overcame stuff like that then it'd def help u
nah that makes sense though
Any of yall get in yet
Hellllll no wtf
Lol
gotta wait another week before decisions will probably start coming out
not yet
they probably dont release decisions on weekends
so the next time we’ll hear about anyone getting in could be as early as tomorrow
yeah my friend got in for math and they didn't tell her until the last day
do they usually admit you to the school but not major if you don’t get cs?
as pre-sciences
i saw teh "congratulations" and my heart stopped
its not just for that page too its for a whole bunch of others 😭😭
they probably link directly to them on the decision page
omg same
imma kms if i dont get in
i have 0 schools that i would get into otherwise that i would for sure want to go to
midwash
do international students get selected for presidential scholarship
No it's only instate afaik
only in-state
ohk and what abt merit based scholarships
are international students applicable for those
no
purple and gold scholarships are for oos us applicants
probably not that hard
I LOVE THAT MAJOR
didn't apply to it but will def transfer into if i go to uwash
I want to go into prelaw so it looked good\
i didnt really do that much research into it but im glad its not a hard one
same
also same which is why i didn't even know it existed when i applied💀
ngl i just scrolled thru the list and chose the best 💀
tbh it's not like imma go to udub anyway meh
LOL
anyone know if a math major would be good to have
been thinking about either doing a double major with it + cs or just doing math if i end up in pre-sciences instead
is applied math dtm
dtm means doin too much right 💀
direct to major
OH no it’s a pre major
hmmmm
might be worth considering
also what’s the difference between double major and double degree
dual degree is like one BE and one BS or one BS and one BA
while double major is one degree with both listed?
like bachelors of science in something and something
yep
double degree is like 150 credits
double major if subjects are overlapping could be 132-140
one more thing for all cs applicants:
In March, the Allen School will also contact DTM students with information about our program. Everyone offered Allen School DTM will receive multiple emails from the Allen School.

apparently you still get the big tech companies at job fairs in atlanta
but not the same caliber of small startups located in a tech hub like seattle
? literally every big tech company is in the seattle area 😭
u get that and startups so it’s nice
oh nvm
