Couple years ago I’d tell you NEU, issue is that the coop program for stem students there is bad, last time I check a lot of fellow cs guys at NEU have barely been getting any coops and for those who have, they were unpaid. So don’t expect to be covering tuition or anything with their coop program. If you’re a rankings type of guy, northeastern got screwed recently, they are in 45th, while UMass got pushed back to 40th. Overall northeastern is kind of an overrated university. If money wasn’t a problem then I’d go with NEU probably, but this all really depends on your financial situation

I had the same struggle between NEU and Umass too actually

I ended up picking Umass because it was 14k cheaper compared to NEU

If you wanna be close to your family tho then northeastern, UMass is like a 2 hour ride to Boston I think

There’s some version of a coop program but overall we don’t really have one, we have an internship support center where we mainly get internships for the summer

It’s somewhat useful, they have a resume help center and stuff for cs students. I managed to get an internship this summer as a freshman with that

But it’s all really based on you, go to the career fairs and stuff and just be active and shit, Amherst has the opportunities you just have to take advantage

No, there’s still options, I’m not entirely familiar with it, but I think you can still request fields of study or concentrations for BA cs peopel, it’s just that BA people have the option to take a lot less cs courses so I assume a lot of them don’t explore cs fields of study as much as looking at other programs

we don’t even start or end very late

for some classes, like math, that can be sorta rough, and the math department is sorta known for being cutthroat and most math classes end up weeding people out
