so i heard (dont take this as fact)

that you need 2 yeses from readers to get into berkeley for engineering, and usually 1 is sufficent for the college of L&S or something

the AI or whatever program examines you, and if you get a maybe when the AI looks at you (before the readers), you may get a LoR request

if so, you may get a maybe from either reader after, and not get into berkeley for engineering

however the main reasons I saw that Berkeley would ask for LoRs were if you participated in a UC Early Academic Outreach Program (I did this), or were first-gen or something the system flagged

i looked on reddit and what not out of curiosity so it could very easily be not true

its that each UC has different preferences

like they have the same criteria but different UCs look at you in different ways

so you have to be very exceptional to clear all of them

it's possible to clear em all but its hella difficult

i have seen people get fucked over by UCSB and Irvine only to get into Berkeley

because there's just different perspectives

like most schools the professors are a mix. Personally I’ve had a lot of AMAZING profs as well as mid ones. Bad prof def exist but you cab usually avoid them by taking the class a quarter later or something

grade deflation is not common at all but I’ve heard of a certain chem professor curving down if the avg is high🥹

don’t think there’s a lot of opportunities with the med school specifically. there’s a ton of pre meds here so for clinical volunteering we have a rly good program called health related internships. it’s basically a sign up system for undergrad to intern at hospitals and u don’t have to go thru a lengthy application process

For Sacramento you just go one stop on the Capitol Corridor
