And imo once you meet the requirements of the academies ( nomination, pass cfa, gpa, get like 50% of SAT avg) your almost guaranteed to get in the reason the acceptance rate is so minimal is cause so many people fail the cfa even by a few reps like just on push ups for expample or they don’t get a nomination so they’re automatically rejected

But in other universities it’s so random and there’s not like a do this this and this and hope that’s what they’re looking for the academies are pretty clear on what they want they talk about leaders so much in their application and fitness and nominations

Idk that’s just my take I was tryna go to the usafa I had got my nomination and stuff but I barely failed my cfa 😭 it’s okay I learned a lot from it but best of luck to you and your future congrats again !

It depends on ur nomination slate

The way the academies does admissions is that you’re compared to your slate, then you’re thrown into the national waiting list to compete

congressman only allowed to have 5 students at each academy, so when one graduates one spot opens up. The winner of the nomination slate (congressmen are allowed to nominate 10 per vacancy) is 100% in bc, by law, the academies are to prioritize filling every district in America. Once that one spot is filled, the rest are thrown into a national waiting list to fill the rest of the class.
