yah, what do you need to know? i didn't do it but lots of my friends did. it's what it says on the tin—very much an introductory course through some of the most significant works in the western canon. it's generally well taught, but of course, given the high reading load (400-500 pages a week), you will not end up drawing crazy amounts from each book lol

you have to remember each book you skim could have multiple graduate-level courses on. do you want the introduction, or a focused class covering a few texts? yale does have both, but the latter isn't through DS.
