only big difference is that yale considers home equity whereas its peer schools generally do not

you can find whatever social/extracurricular group you want

Directed Studies is a program for first-years in Historical & Political Thought, Literature, and Philosophy. It's probably the most intense program for first-years at Yale, but I very much love love it.

It's selective (about ~10% of each class does it a year), and it can help you in the long run! People come out of it as great writers, thinkers, etc.

Alumni from the program do basically a lot of things: lawyering, doctoring, business, etc.

Hard to tell. People are still being interviewed so clearly they haven't gotten through all applications, but I don't see how it could hurt. If you're missing a document and explain it, I doubt they'd have already rendered a decision on your application
