anti-semitism is like, nonsensical because semitism isn't a thing and also weirdly the hyphen is an english addition not found in the original german. i was thinking about what that might say about english-speaking cultures. and then non-binary is kinda interesting because it's an inherently exclusionary word that lives only relative to the binary which is kinda antithetical to the whole identity. removing the hyphen kinda makes it feel more legitimate; like a word unto itself. enby in particular is just a whole new word which kinda furthers that point
