for the "topic that excites you" prompt is it better to talk about a book i read on an obscure/unique topic kinda related to my major, or to talk about a less unique activity thats very related to my major that I am really involved in at school

id say talk about that if it speaks to a deeper part of your character that they wouldnt be able to pick up on otherwise

but speaking about something niche that they mightve not heard about would make your app stand out, just make sure you have enough to say about it and are able to draw something more from it

for yale's essay questions, i'm a bit confused by the third option: "reflect on an element of your personal experience that you feel will enrich your college"

what do they mean by "your college"? is that supposed to be in reference to like the residential colleges at yale?

or is it just like "your college" as in a general "your experience at college"?
