#Georgia Tech (GATech) (2023-2024)
1 messages · Page 9 of 1
Go there
its expensive tho
How much
around 60 grand COA
I thought they were like 40k for OOS
what do you expect
ayy fellow madison admit
Dayum
40k is tution dawg
W
Ooooooh
Umass is 55k for OOS but they give out a lotta scholarships
Which is better for cs
nah fr?
Georgia tech or harvey mudd
gatech
For real real
damn isnt the conversion rate like below 2%
1570 and 5 on 3 APs. School doesnt do GPA but school rank 1/600
I dunno ngl
if you dont mind sharing what were your ECs like?
They were mainly focused on a niche in CS, and I had my own org that taught ~2,500 students in that niche. We partnered with three renowned institutions in that field and one of them wrote a really nice rec letter (likely played a solid part in my acceptance tbh)
I can see why I got rejected
How likely am i to get in after getting deferred
their website says 20%, so better odds than being deferred at different campus i think (avg is 5-10%? could be wrong)
I saw some years it was 25%
Their admissions is funky
i think im pretty screwed, wasnt planning on sending fall grades anywhere and they arent the best 😬
senioritis is real
It says I already sent em somehow
real
I did good for one semester and that’s probably it 💀
Spent all of my energy up and now I’m burnt out
Yo do I need to submit a LOCI or something if I got deferred?
I'm being edged with two deferrals right now and it's fucking with my brain lmao
Check what they say on ur admissions portal
It says to fill out this deferral form. Not sure if other deferred and then accepted students have submitted a LOCI in the past though
Congrats on your acceptance btw 🙂
I think if colleges ask for LOCIs they’ll state it— that’s what UMich asked me to do
Aight aight
You could always ask class of ‘27 peeps
Thanks and best of luck to you!!! I know you got this 😎
Second deferral was a gut punch ngl. It doesn't matter, I already got into Purdue University Honors College, but there was a dream
Tech was ur dream or another college?
2nd choice
Got deferred from my 1st choice too lmaoooo
Thanks man, appreciate the vote of confidence!
What was ur first choice
Princeton University. Really setting myself up for failure here aren't I.
Idk bro, this whole admissions season is so wack it's crazy. We're all in an episode of the Twilight Zone or something
what u tryna major in
Some stats that were posted, not sure if they have been sent yet, I haven’t seen them:
Early Action 2 Decision Release
Here is a quick recap of Early Action 2 decisions released on Friday, January 26.
• Admitted: 9%
• Deferred: 21%
• Transfer Pathway offers: 4%
• Denied: 61%
• Incomplete/Cancelled: 5%
• 50 states (plus DC and Puerto Rico)
• 78 countries
• 1,800 high schools
Hollllllyyyyyy Shit 9%???? That's crazy
I'm part of the proud 21
It's a great place to be
WHAT THE HELL I THOUGHT IT WAS 12%?!??!
Wait for all majors??
9% is wild
Oh lawd I'm so screwed for RD
do you know where the stats were posted
that was from 2 years ago
where did you get these stats?
those stats were sent to a college counselor
she shared them with her facebook page
@fallow oracle @cerulean pendant @tropic merlin @worthy comet
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2057869317867307/permalink/3709237859397103/
It's in a private facebook group, but she is very reputable and accurate.
can you send a photo of the post?
interesting, thanks for sharing
Yo can someone invite me to the gt 28 discord
anyone here that got deferred from michigan but accepted to GT wanna trade admission decisions 😍
yo you have wetwater friended??
i used to play val w him lmao
drop the social security number and we can swap identities !
i dont play anymore 💀
Damn rip
swapped to a m1 mac a year ago
Sad
ill send
building a pc this summer tho ill be down
Thanks
Niceee
Or buy like a laptop with 4080 gpu
omg ur perfect for me
i'm not sure
Dw RD actually usually has higher acceptance rates for OOS 💀
thats insane
does anyone know why transfer pathways are given?
do yk how much higher?
9% acceptance or deferral rate?
For this year?
yeah
Oof
its not bad imo
the actual percentages are not given but the acceptance rates overall for OOS are higher than EAII. for example, 12% for EAII in 2022 and 13% OOS overall for the entire year
that is only possible if a higher percentage of OOS students were accepted in RD
granted, theres also the factor that its impossible to be deferred in RD
they have it on their website
these are all the possible ways you can receive a transfer pathway
gotcha
basically: atlanta school, georgia uni, first generation, pell grant, arts&sciences, veteran
Dyk the acceptance rate for computer engineering by any chance?
i was just wondering if anyone knows the motivation to get the pathway like for example if ur deferred colleges want to see you compared to rd kids or wanna see your first sem grades
i got the talent pathway
yeah i believe thats the pell grant one
not this year, the admissions season still isnt over
Oh Alr
theyll post that information later on probably at some point
oh yeah, cant forget about legacy 💀
Dyk the acceptance rate for cs last year?
Whats the chance of being accepted after being deferred
considering 21% get deferred it makes sense it's easier to get in RD
~20%?
Thats good ig
i dont remember explicitly but i think it was around 10-11% overall
no idea about OOS, that info isnt published
if i had to guess, OOS CS would be around 8-9% if not lower
Honestly I’d consider it less “hey what’s the deferral RD acceptance rate”
And just consider it like you’re just a regular RD applicant
Insane I’m so greatful 🙏
Maybe im not cooked after all
I lowkey got destroyed by cs publics this round
isn’t it <5% oos
there’s a huge preference for instate
also i think they started admitting by major for cs this year
you cant transfer into cs anymore
Because it’s CS publics
yes you cant
i mean 5% is in line with the other top public school cs programs
not that surprising
idk that estimation just sounds sorta sus
u can still transfer in. you just cant use the transfer pathway to guarantee admission into cs
berkeley uiuc ut udub etc are all around there lol
i think what he means is that you cant get into like business and then change major to CS
thank god btw
o the major switch nvm
can u transfer ce to cs
registration
I don’t think so
no
Oh god
nothing can major switch into CS
I hear it’s a nightmare here
as in major switch after u get in? no, u cant switch into cs after u get admitted for something else
i was almost unable to be a fulltime student this semester 💀
barely got off my waitlists
next semester is literally gonna be worse
damn that’s tough
i got my thread classes on the last day of the first week lmao
Oh ok
otehr majors generally are fine
Should I talk to an advisor later in the year bc of my AP credits?
can’t be worse than berkeley
I wanna know what to take and what not to take
some course waitlists here are in the 300s
how is gt with ap credits? do they take a lot
idk ab berkeley
My chem teacher was like “take chem again for an easy a” and I’m like hell freaking no
theres no cap. so whatever transfers will transfer
Really good
dude there are some berkeley cs classes with like 1500 students at a time
W
we just dont have the infrastructure for that
berkeley doesn’t either lmao
we have no rooms for finals lmao
there are watch parties for intro cs lectures bc the zooms also get filled 💀
they put 100 ppl in a 50 seat room for one of my labs earlier this semester
welp good thing im not going to berkeley 😎
lwk i think im committing to gt unless i get into berkeley
do u guys like the campus
what are ur threads if u go here
idk lol i haven’t looked into it much
if ur intel ur even more fucked for registration
i forgot what i wrote in my essay too
i like the campus quite a bit, only complaint is scheller is in tech square and i dont want to walk there from the rest of campus
got in for comp eng but want to do more software ngl
o compE
it should be noted that you can in fact transfer into a CS major after like
a semester or two?
i believe?
i think so
if you meet the requirements
u need 1331 first or something
is it hard to?
idk
i think that’s 1st or 2nd sem for compe
wait yea 2nd sem
most people i know stick to their major so i dont really know
why’d gt have to change their policy this year
cus theres too many cs ppl
registration has been hell
there are literally people writing bots for registration
im also pretty sure this is against ToS lol
yea
but they havent been dealt with so ig its too bad :|
i got my classes once the waitlists dropped and it was free for all
bruh they expanded seats on the last day
like why are they waiting till the last minute to open fucking seats
because of registration im taking diffeq for no reason lol
lmao
for the credit hours
how’s recruiting on campus rn
i am math minor but i sorta dont wanna stuff like PDEs
is it still okay with the bad market
what am i supposed to put on this deferal supplemental? what do they mean by wanting to know "what ive been up to" like was i supposed to cure cancer in the last 3 months ive just been applying to colleges 😭
im ngl none of my friends have internships yet
inclduing me
i mean as long as you do something it should be fine. could even just talk about ur feelings idk
damn
¯_(ツ)_/¯
yeah its sorta ridiculous
I’m just glad I don’t have to take any GenEds in college
No more English, humanities, yay!
wait i HOPE I DONT HAVE TO DO MORE ENGLISH
I can skip freshman bio and maybe chem
OMG
oh
.
since i transferred i didnt need to cuz i got credit at my previous institution
is a 5 on ap lit getting me past that 😭😭
but im pretty sure the AP englishes dont give credit for eng II at GT
I have AP Lang credit
wait what englsh do u need omg
Wait lemme see
sort of just have to take Eng II
sounds like a job for chatgpt 💀💀 /j
Damn you
THANK GODD
because i failed my french AP exam i am taking japanese 1 rn 💀
I hope you have a bad day
for the humanities credit
I passed so no more language
I WAS SAVED
Woo
i think im gonna have to do a lang
plan on grinding out all those geneds this summer at my community college
Would I be able to get credit for chem but take chem lab for 101 or whatever?
my community college transfers wuite a bit to georgia they have like a transfer pathway for the reg students too
i think chem lab is a linked class so probably not
im taking all my classes there rn
technically still in hs tho
NO MORE ENGLISH YAY
ill get credit for intro to oop i think
damn you im taking that rn 💀
yeah
its so easy i cant believe i didnt get credit for it
yeah
i got credit for 1332 but not 1331
intro to data structures or algorithms or smth like that
ah
its the class right after intro to OOP
which is 1331
i went from taking 4000 level CS classes at auburn to intro to OOP at GT its so goofy
ah
🤓
my only CS class this semester 💀
you transfered what year?
this semester
u can check on the transfer equivalency
its on their transfer website so
yeah i did
yeah then ur good
if its on there will they take for sure?
most likely
yes
nice
unless you troll it and submit some of ur classes for evaluation and they reevaluate it 💀
i got 1331 then nice
Well damn because we’re not doing a lot of labs in my class this year ☠️
i shouldve took multi before i took diff eq and linear instead lol
did u get 1554 credit?
before diffeq tho yeah probably
no i dont think i can get 1554
fuck
if you submit it for evaluation you might be able to get 15XX
which is transfer linear algebra
1554 here is fucking awful
yeah it says dept eval
yeah if you get 15XX its good for 1554, and you fill up the remaining credit with a free elective
which is what happened for me
bruh idk how i can
Do ppl usually go from AP Calc BC to diffeq without difficulties?
this sucks
no take multi first
u need linear algebra for diffy q prereq
uhh
i havent taken multi oof my courses were clashing and my advisor didnt let me so i had to take diff eq instead
diffeq is sorta really easy rn with only calc 2 needed for preknowledge
granted its only 2 weeks in
lol
me and my friends aced calc bc and ended linear algebra with a C or B lmao
lin alg at gt is hard af but multi was pretty easy
What the fuccccccc
I mean I can get a tutor and go to office hours
Luckily my peers will be smarter than me so…
its different
everyone struggles in it tho so its fine lol
i took honors linear algebra at auburn and apparently my class was like harder than at GT according to my friend 💀
but scaling goes hard so
ended with an A
our final exam average was lke 60 i think lol
our final exam average was a 45 💀
Wait @jolly relic is it (bad teachers) hard or (rigorous curriculum) hard
the exams are stupid
my physics class avg was like 40% and this was mechanics lmao
in my experience it was the bad teacher, i think linear algebra is very doable with a good one
hard exams. bro the true false on the exams is so random
uhh i had the course coordinator as my prof (sal barone) so he's the best option. but i still have my opinions on how bad the course is structured 💀
the profs are v good, esp barone
ok what
how is that possible
does having physics 2 do anything as cs
nope
no
nice!
but if you want to you can take it as ur lab science requirement
What abt ochem at tech
which is what i did
How is that
How abt physics then
theres also no curve in 1554 too besides a linear shift in the grade cutoffs at the end. which is usually like 1-1.5 points. so an A is [88.5>], B is [78.5>], etc
ppl who hated physics and were trash at it, rotational screwed me over but my avg was still like at least 80
i dont even remember
just from what ive seen from what my friends GT physics isnt any much harder than anywhere else
Oh good ok
my teacher is also very trash
Omg I’m like so so so so so excited to go here next year
I still can’t believe they let me in 😭
most ppls first flipped classroom as well
flipped classrooms are stupid lol
same! im in shock as well
wtf is a flipped classroom
learn outside of class just do work in class
I get anxiety replaying the moment in my head 😵
basically you have to learn everything by yourself
My AP Chem class is like 25% flipped
i was literally buying butter chicken at the indian restaurant and opened bc i had no hope
I was in a hotel room and started screaming and jumping up and down
😭
YES THE BEES
insane
My essay got me in 100%
I think I showed demonstrated interest
Tech was like the only school I toured so I was banking on it 😭
prob my common app essay and a nice niche cs thing that flowed throughout my app
was mostly banking on umd
got in so didnt care about gt that much
until i got in lmao
I loved writing my personal essay
Mine was an extended metaphor (object metaphor) and then I submitted it and then found out it was becoming more and more cliche 💀
heard physics 1 is pretty easy now
lmaoo mine started with "play like a human" kinda odd but it makes sense i think at least
yep
nice
after physics 2 i was done
i still need 3 lab sciences lmao
does intro physics 2 count as lab science
like phys 2212 here? or ap physics 2
or DE
is it calculus pased
based*
if its calculus based then yes
if not
okay so guys
no
how bad is a deferral
cuz i asked here and the guy who answered my questioning was just clowning me
i heard they defer only like 25% of applicants tho
if it transfers as something equivalent to phys 2212 here, then yeah
my cc course gives credit for physics 2212
nice
yeah you might even have a bit of an edge
How many creds would you need to finish in 3 years
Was it that troll guy 💀
yea prolly
Like 40????
if i didnt transfer then i wouldve finished in 3 years. id say about 40?
could even be less
kinda also depends how many credit hours u take each semester
Not me having to study for the rest of my midterms next week 💀
This sem is the best but the most work
ive just decided not to worry about midterms until a week before they come
I have no humanities or English this sem YAY
i heard there a discord for new admits can someone send it?
3/4 of my courses are math based
Third semester is about to be GOATED because I have sports + getting to bask in the glory of senioritis
ong
im really lucky that all of my classes are easy except complex analysis 💀
why did i take that class
im getting fucked with the amount of assignments and readings, more than the content rn
yeah honestly im completely chilling, not a lot of hw at all for any of my classes except japanese and japanese 1 is easy. everything is easy
except complex analysis. second week and i already dont know wtf is going on 💀
Should I have sem1 be easy or hard?
Like
Should I try to get hard classes out of the way?
start off with 12 hours prob
Or should I get gen ed classes out of the way
most people say easy but my philosophy is if you make it hard then you get used to coming years
That’s standard right
what do u have left ?
12 is minimum to remain full time. but i think most ppl's 1st sem is 12-15 ish
some ballsy people do like 18-21
So I’ll just list off what I have done
English 101
Language Classes
US History
Psych
Gov
Bio
And if I do well I’ll get Calc bc, chem, and enviro sci out of the way
18 with easy classes isnt bad. its what im doing rn. if you take hard classes and take 18 thats a different story i definitely dont advise that lmao
So that leaves me with Econ and CS gen eds and English 102
^^^
DO NOT TAKE MATH 1554, CS 1332, and CS 2110 together 😭
i got fucked last semester because they all had same day exams
I was thinking if chem worked out I would do Ochem first or second semester and try to get Econ and CS intro together
I STILL CANT TAKE CS 2110 BECAUSE I HAVENT FINISHED 1331 YET ITS SO GOOFY
lmao
I also need physics but I can’t because I need math prerequisites
So what would y’all say
wait are you taking a cs minor?
prob take engl 1102 ur first sem to get it out the way
No but CS gen ed is required
ohhh i didnt even know that lmao
yeah we have like a computing req. either 1301 or 1371 iirc
So then engl 1102 and Econ gen ed will probably be the way to go
Lemme look at my program of studies
yeah get all of ur cores out of the way first
i still need 9 SS credits i think
I’ll have 1301 and 1331 done
ap credits saved me from SS classes lol
Wait my class gives me 1331 and 1XXX elective
but wtf is this georgia history and constitution requirements
annoying
I have bio principles, chem principles, language, and diff calc done
So that leaves me with 2/6 left 💀
I would have 4 classes to fill 😭
how much more competitve is gt cs oos than ut austin cs in state?
I think it’s 10% UT???
Which might be more for in state?
So I’d say it’s easier to get in UT but they’re both extremely competitive
All the regular ones colleges have + a CS class + an Econ class
Yeah idk the regular ones colleges have but nvm i found a page online
for those of you oos who got in and plan on going here, how are you gonna pay for it? im really excited i got in, but 50k a year just doesn't seem worth it right now.
How do you even get a Talent Initiative Transfer Pathway? It says that you have to be pell grant eligible but I didn't submit any financial documents
its more like 46k 1st year and 43-46k the rest of the years depending on which meal plan and dorm u get. i go here rn and my parents pay although they make a lot so it depends on how much ur fam can handle. if u have a lot of AP/DE, u can also speed run graduation in like 2.5 years which comes out to around 115k. i've heard u can also get in state tuition after a year if ur parents change residency to ga (idk anything abt that so u might have to ask around). if the cost is too much then go to ur state school or apply to places with merit. also have you applied for fin aid? they do give fin aid to oos, although not tons
What is this ethics gen ed requirement
Oh i see
Also any suggestions on what DE courses to take? (Any specific APs too? I'm taking calc appc lang macroecon and csa but any others?)
yeah my parents cant pay for that lol, looks like ill have to hope for scholarships or pray i get into one of the ivys or mit
check the transfer equivalency table: https://registrar.gatech.edu/info/transfer-credit-equivalency-tables
The Registrar's Office strives to provide excellent service and contribute to overall institutional effectiveness. We maintain and protect the official academic record for every student at Georgia Tech. In support of the Institute's educational programs and its community of people, we work to fulfill our student-centered mission.
did u apply for fin aid? @drowsy rose
i will have 11 ap credits, so its alright, but honestly idk if it would be worth it
yeah but fafsa aint gonna give me nothing
im upper middle class, but my parents dont have a large college fund for me, they can help a little bit but they about to retire
did u fill out css? i know a lot of oos middle class ppl who get decent aid
if i can get it down to 30-35k a year its doable
yeah
well lets hope lol
I have to complete FAFSA before that stuff
Also, what are regionally accredited universities?
Anyone at gt who lived in ga on a visa at the time of applying? I'm trying to figure out costs/fin aid
any previous stamps semifinalists willing to share some advice for those async interviews. kinda nervous about them cuz its so soon
^^
^^
what do they look for if u get deffered
is it just mid year report
or do they also consider new ecs, etc
Any tips for GT Deferred Supplemental Form?
Any tips?
Thank you for your response! Sorry, I am not super active on the discord haha! Looking foward to the interview!
According to online chatter you want to mention stuff like ECs, service, and honors you received this year
Georgia tech likes when a student demonstrates community devotion
Did I get yield protected by Georgia tech? 😭
No
It’s just a hard school to get into
Legit half of this thread is prob similar stat to u
What about with guarenteed transfer?
Cause many people I know recieve those offers
Guaranteed transfer is even less common than acceptance I think
Is talent pathway/other pathways considered guarenteed transfer or no
Uhhhh idk I’m not very knowledgeable abt transfer pathways
I think if ur a legacy and in state ur guaranteed transfer
Yes
What is talent pathway?
Oh ok
But now it won’t even matter if ur tryna switch to cs
Cuz once u transfer they’ll have it on lock
no one I know is going into CS tho
Unless u transfer with cs
Did u get into GT @crude pelican
so that's good
does Computer Engineering count?

Idt so
as cs?
That’s rough I’m really sorry
Some of these schools like UCs and GT and UNC are just outright impossible
Yeah oos is brutal
I think when the poll launched like 20% of A2Cers were accepted
A 20% A2C acceptance rate is insane considering most ppl here are high achievers
yeah and some ppl dont even do the poll after
If that makes u feel better
ITM?
So maybe it was meant to be
Info tech management
Interesting
I think also what major you wanna go to definitely affects ur app… like if u apply a niche engineering major maybe you’ll have a better shot 🤷♂️
Aren't a few UC's pretty easy to get in?
Yea
Still hard
Only easy ones
R Merced
And riverside
And San Fran but we don’t count that
Davis sd sb Irvine
I don’t know if I should have applied to UCLA I might have had a good shot but it’s like so so so hard to get into and expensive
what poll?
Are all hard
Check pinned messages
Did u submit ur choice?
I guess that would be considered deferred??? Idk 😭
It’s kinda a rejection
Yeah
It’s like a friendzone
Ill put it as rejection
but its auto transfer accept
Friendzone with benefits
so
^^^
So u were given auto transfer?
/poll
yeah
I mean, you still have to get a 3.3 gpa at a accreditied college(whatever that means)
so like after two years you have that option for sure? the transfer deals are so weird
only one
ah
oh i see
but i heard that if you meet requirements you're basically in
I would take that as a small win!!!
aww
What major?
but, I still need to get into a college
biochem
thats pretty good then ig
oof what school
Maybe u could do a cheap school first year and then be at tech
^^
Get all of ur geneds done and then it’s smooth sailing
Look at ur program of studies and see what you’d have to take and work around that
Rutgers
ah
i sat here for like an hour wondering why my camera wouldn't work and apparently it has a cover 💀
ik i was just joking
what is yield protection?
schools sometimes reject applicants they think would go somewhere else
Oh yeah, so like you're too good for the school?
basically
I wouldn’t say so. I would say they’re trying to determine “fit.”
“Fit.” Is shown with demonstrated interest, your supplemental, and your profile
If someone has a good fit for Tech and they’re a really high achiever then I wouldn’t see why Georgia tech would deny them
i mean there are a ton of factors beyond fit and qualifications
same I did some stuff that included some music/creative things with tech and I thought gt was a hardcore tech school
Ofc!
I’m just saying that because a lot of people who are insanely qualified get straight up rejected and there are some factors that might be able to explain it like fit, bad stats/essays in one section, or even just well-roundedness
It’s such a mystery and we will never know what makes them think a certain way
if i got deferred, how do i demonstrate fit in my loci
Well fit is how well you’d be at this school, so demonstrated interest is a way to show that as well as really honing in on what you love. I’m not good on writing locis because I really don’t know how they work but you should probably try to show continued interest and show your accomplishments this current year…
my #1 ec was debate lol
only 3 of my ecs were tech/compe related
yea i feel like it’s so luck based
Pf? 👀
yea
Same lol
yeah but then you have Berkeley eecs 5% accetpance rate 💀
nah all good
just get in any berkeley engineering
and transfer to eecs
super easy
😂
no?
u can do that 100%
u cant transfer to cs if you are in l&s
but u can transfer to eecs if you are in engineering
ahh i see
😂😂
yeah i got l&s and engineering confused
crazy strat ppl dont know
cause i heard they stopped letting l&s transfers happen
bro i applied MET and then changed to just EECS 😭
so now i dont even have a secondary major
yeah they did, but engineering is still open cuz if u get in engineering ur already good enough for cs as opposed to...coming in from gender studies from l&m
what why would u do that
applying to MET doesn't hurt u at all
chickened out of the MET application process
oh dont wanna write the essay?
yes
😭
listen bro i wasnt thinking straight
it was wack i was like having self esteem issues for the first time in my life
prob cause r/collegeresults and shit 💀
real
ik a lot of cracked kids who didnt even get interviewed
including a isef grand winner + founder of a $12.5M valued startup
also why do so many ppl choose other schools over berkeley CS
LMAO
such as what
like my friend chose UW CS over cal, that one GT youtuber chose GT CS over cal
oh hell nah
I just saw this: https://sites.gatech.edu/admission-blog/2016/03/23/the-wait-list-yea-you-know-part-3/
And it’s hilarious. GaTech blog is on top…
ive heard cal environment and student life is ass
prob tuition
tbh ill still dip gatech full ride (if i end up getting the stamps scholarship) for berkeley
berkeley is just better im ngl
yeah prob that
but imo nothing beats silicon valley
if u wanna do tech/startup
hmm idk man
ive heard rlly shit things about berkeley student life
like my friend who actually did go (not for engineering) was genuinely depressed her first year
im not even looking to have that much fun in college
its a competitive place
and bc cal admission is random as hell a lot of ppl who arent prepared for the academic rigor suffer
You… would take… Berkeley over GT full ride
damn
bro just casually dropped that nuclear bomb typa news on us
it’s lower lol
I am so sad I got deferred but its ok
U still got it! Isn’t there like a 20% acceptance rate for deferred
lol
Yeah I swear I told u 😭
Cs
lol
Oh wow that’s great
I’m prob gonna go yeah
It really is
The saluditorian at my school got in
I am valedictorian and did not
So sad
And I am a girl and he is a boy
Wasn’t meant to be
And he’s actually willing to pay for it
So
All the power to him
stanford l
congrats!
Thx
I literally feel dizzy rn but maybe I just didn’t have enough water today 💀
Also I have midterms tmr 😭
Gl!
How do you have midterms tomorrow
It's basically February 💀
We start really
Like early September
That's crazy
Are you in the northeast?
All the people I know up there have late school schedules
Yeeeeah
How about yourself
I'm in ohio
Our school sucks tho we start the second week of August but don't get out until the last week of may

Hey guys I got into GT Friday (yay) but deferred from mich, my dream school. please convince me to love GT! I need to get over umich
I was at um a few weeks ago and it was -3 with a wind chill of -20 and they didn't plow the sidewalks
You could literally have ice skated on them
(this sounds fun but cold still bad)
They would just blow the snow off the top and reveal the ice underneath but never salted
What major?
Wait… ur cheme right?
blue is the ugliest fucking color ever
yellow and black is so tough
gold
southern food 🤩
SOUTHERN FOOD!!!
warm weather >>
isn't Umich's colors also yellow tho?
tbf emory not far away tho
Umich has a mid engineering program
BADDIES AT EMORY???
our colours are gold and white
technically not yellow lol
umich eng is honestly really good
we're better tho
ong bruh
also, why would you want to go to school in the midwest?
It's like in the middle of nowhere
why not go to one of the most important cities in the us
i think ppl underestimate the importance of having baddies in ur school 😳
i live between umich and gtech rn so i need to decide if i want to die of cold in the summer, or die of heat in the winter
makes learning 10x more effective
lmfao
lol
i need sleep
ok i don't think tech is that bad when it comes to baddies either but whatever floats yalls boat
what is a baddies?
also i dont have that decision bc umich deferred me so i suppose i shall endure the heat
How far is Emory
oh fr?
OH???
bet
🤨
nah but the male female ratio is wild
like around 6-7 kilometers i think
LMFAO
nah as a cs major tho that's gonna be the case wherever i go 😭
being the rizzless person i am i actually care abt this 😔
bro gonna be taking the rizziology 2030 course first sem 😂
no cap i need to
yo they gotta hire me for that
nah but like
imo the top cs school w most baddies is stanfor
u cant compare with that
there are some baddies at tech
make a ranking based on the percentage of baddies
counterpoint: texas
lmfao
having a baddie means you get access to other baddies
ohhh ut austin might be
and if u launch a startup u need baddies to promote ur products
LOL
What about Barnard or Wellesy
how do u think big companies do so well at marketing
cuz they use baddies to market
HUH???? you just went from rizz 101 to polyamory 205
every single ad has the face of a baddie
nah nah bro is onto smth
why do u think popular actors are all hot asf
surgery
guys let bro cook
so if u wanna launch the next fortune 300 company
u need baddies to help u promote
hence being surrounded in a baddie land is of critical importance
thats my ted talk yall
lol tf
im tryna look for that one gif of like two dudes and ones looking at the computer going like "oooh i see" but i cant find it
do yall know what im talking abt
bro needs to be rizzscinded
💀
yes ik
hear me out
if u somehow manage to actually pull it off
yeah but it has blue
every single baddie in barnard will be after ur ass
nah now i do NOT want to hear bro out after this devious plan
Media does work 😢
this is ur average tech conversation
damn
Doesn’t
skill issue ig
- city location so you have a lot of fun things to do
- good industry connections
- pre sure we're slightly better at eng as well
- better weather
- jim harbaugh is going into the nfl
just go to parties, be social, maybe tutor, and join clubs
umich football is getting cooked next season
and UW
washington got screwed ngl
Question
So for transfers, I apparently have to attend a "regionally accredited college"
What is a "regionally accredited college?"
this
tldr touch grass
and tbf the gender ratio gets a little better when you count out the cs majors
wait, there are parties at gt?
how meche any better than cs lol
shhh
u guys dont shower either dont lie
Then just don't do Engineering
theres an entire street for frats
i am so clean and hygienic if my roomate is messy i will die
there are non-engineering majors at gt?
gt business is pretty decent
I mean, if there aren't, then where are all the frat kids coming from
I was joking too
lol i wrote my why gt essay on smt unrelated to engineering
maybe that made me stand out idk
what is this from?
typical
is georgia tech cs better then university of washinton cs?
so even in this hyper competitive pool
