Depends on where you’re from ig. Some places just don’t have the capacity for interviews. If your from Germany, like me, you are for example more likely to receive an interview than an international student from (for example) Peru. They usually try to find an alumni close to you, my interviewer for example was from America but currently lives in Germany.

From how I understood it, interviews are kind of the tie breakers of college apps. They won’t have a heavy impact on the initial decision, but if you tie with another applicant for the same spot, they usually consider the interviews. Every college is different though and idk how exactly Princeton handles it. But ultimately, interviews are not unimportant, just low impact.

i think it’s very situational though. after watching videos of people looking at their admissions file, some people’s interviews really increased their chances of admission.

i’d imagine princeton is slightly different though bc they try to give all applicants interviews, i couldn’t imagine them allowing it to hurt you, solely off availability.
