It's kinda sad that we consider a 1460 as not great, especially when the average was like 1028 for the class of 2023. Yes, I uderstand someone with a 1028 isn't applying to Princeton probably

Universities think of SAT scores differently now. I think a while back, say pre-COVID, the SAT was highly valued and having a high score (say 1500+) meant a world of difference. Nowadays there are so many issues with the SAT fundamentally that colleges don't care about it anymore.

If you have a 1450 or higher on the SAT, that's submittable anywhere in my opinion. You'd have to have a lot of good LoRs and essays, but it's not the end of the world by any means.

Yeah, there are some problems with the SAT, but the whole Submit Them if You Want To always seemed weird to me. I can't help think that people are human, even AOs, and if someone doesn't have their SAT score listed, they can't help but think that there's a reason. I submitted mine everywhere that took them because it's a good score, but if my buddy who is also applying to similar schools as me went test optional, how do they not wonder if he bombed it, and how does that not affect their decision? I think it's time to go back to submitting scores, or killing it all together.

You can use any of the formats mentioned. The website says “Submissions can consist of PDF scores or recordings; recordings or MIDI mock-ups of scored works are welcome if you have them but not required.”

You should be able to submit multiple files so I don’t think you need to combine anything.
