I think you could treat it as a pure cs degree. The recruiting will be similar. Social life is fine, you will meet a lot of other CS + x and Grainger CS people in your CS classes, and a lot of pure animal science majors in your animal science classes. And tbf, I have friends in neither my CS or X majors, and you'll have tons of opportunity to meet people thru clubs and dorms. Aces won't impact your degree strength at all, you still take all the core CS classes. They only take about 10 people cause animal science is a very niche/specialized field so not many people do it

No problem! Don't worry about the job hunting either. Absolutely no disadvantage compared to other CS programs. Plus it'll be an amazing combo when you apply to biotech companies, I think they'll love your combination especially with the cool classes you guys will take in nanotech and cancer AI detection

I say this because I'm currently TAing one of the core DS classes and they can't code at all, like don't know what nested for loops are and stuff

you need an A- and above in CS 173. CS 128, CS 225, and a B- and above in STAT 400

then you can apply, and if ur grade are good you'll probably make it
