If you can’t specialize in CS, then what’s really the point.

In CS+X, it’s almost like you get decent at CS and the X but you’ll never become proficient. The problem is similar to computer engineering. CE is worse for SWE prep compared to CS.

Think about it this way. When you essentially split the limited number of classes that you can take into two subject areas, you cannot get too deep into just one. If I were to pursue a pure CS major, I would be able to take graduate-level classes and advance my knowledge depth and understanding of the subject matter.
