Keep in mind these are some of the stuff my friends told me as students at NYUAD and my opinions as someone who lived there and also have some slight understanding of those global Unis who open branches outside of their main location.

The campus will be even better than the us and more spacious just like other international universities campuses globally in ME countries. However the actual life you would live is not as ideal as much as I love the uae It just not a place where you’ll have access to much opportunities for most vocations as you would back in the US.

In terms of research, compared to the main campus I’d label it as faculty lite you pretty much get the name brand of nyu but it’s not comparable by a long shot.

Life in the uae is alright it depends on what you would make of it but for months outside of winter you’re pretty much gonna have to adhere to the heat and stay around in malls and use a car to move around the city it becomes repetitive.

People who say it’s worth it is if you get accepted with aid since they’re generous about it.

I truly agree with this too. I have visited the place and i have same opinions. If your top prirority is US you can apply to many other places. For those who associate NYU ranking with the statellite campus DON'T NYUAD has separate QS ranking and last time it got ranked in 2021 in the subject ranking for CS 600-700 in the World yeaps

I decided to change my primary campus of interest like two days ago, and I had a long talk with admissions ops. First, they asked a lot of questions about the change. Like, why do you want to study CS at NYU New York but not NYU Shanghai as you indicated when you applied. I explained everything. She ignored for 1 day, but finally she emailed back and said that my application is updated.
Also, earlier this week before I was ignored, she said that applications are already read and decision are made. But, when I asked whether my application will be read or no, she said:
When I asked the readers if it was too late they agreed it is not, so your application will be read. Does it indicate something? I mean she said literally no, but today she said a different thing
