Hey NYU ED2 rejects, I know a bunch of you are lurking on this thread rn and I can assume what kinds of emotions yall are filled with and trust me, you are justified to feel whatever you are feeling. It may be depression and sadness realzing the fact that you wont be going to somewhere you have dreamt of going for the past month, it could be anger towards the college for not letting you in and it definitely is jealousy towards those who actually got in. Trust me, I know you might feel like a horrible human being for feeling jealous towards those who have the privilege to put "NYU'28" on the end of their name and you really wish you could do the same.

NYU isn't the end of things. Trust me when I say this, it's a really fucking nasty feeling when your dreams fall apart and you can't go somewhere you really wanted to and it looks like a bleak road ahead but you will have fun regardless of where you end up. I know some of you might have been talking to a bunch of NYU students, stalking NYU photos, looking at the pretty pictures of Bobst or self deluded yourself to believe that you were definitely going to get in and seeing all that shatter is a fucking nasty feeling, something that took me a lot of time to get over.

I know what you are feeling and its fine to feel it. Just know that colleges are just congregations of people at the end of the day and once you graduate, what matters the most is not what name is on your degree, but the people and connections you made over the past four years - something that is abundant regardless of where you end up.

To speak of my personal experience, NYU was my dream college and I idolized it to the point i kinda formed a parasocial relationship with it . My entire world crumbled when i saw my rejection letter and I thought college was over and its not gonna be fun anymore. I couldn't have been farther from the truth.

The past semester I have spent here in my current college has been the most fun I have ever had in my entire life and I have made genuine connections with people I otherwise wouldn't have met if I had gotten into NYU. Sure, there's always the possibility of the alternate reality where it is Cookie | NYU'27 instead off Cookie | IIT D'27 making his own genuine connections at NYU but I believe life is about playing with the hand you're dealt with and everyone has something unique in store for them. Chin up, look high and stand proud. You have gotten so far and I'm proud of yall for taking the leap of ED. im not too sure about emailing as well. im not sure if i can email on my own or if i need my counselor to do it. when i looked at the portal, there is no material update button. the update buttons only have "CV/resume" and "unofficial transcript" as options

I would say you'd better ask your counselor to do so. I was in the same situation although, except I had my counselor help me explain in the counselor lor

AR forgotten too. I would say around 40/45 is fair… although I've seen 44 rejection and 37 admission…
