schools only look at gpa in a sense as in did you try at school or did you just take it the easy way. so yes they look at GPA holistically and numbers do not tell the full story. plus some schools inflate gpa via just giving out free grades in class

the same goes for SAT, with so many people sending high scores for a test that can be studied for and can be taken numerous amount of times

schools really have to read through the ECs and essay provided on top of just looking at numbers

I've done some research. All London scholars means is that they liked you but they didn't have enough space in Boston/you didn't have high enough stats. You just get a smaller campus, faculty, and less support resources, because neu is basically enrolling you at another college. So in that sense it's a bit of a scam

But the classes are also easier so it's more chill, and you can also potentially avoid some tough weed out classes (calc 2) since they will be easier at the school. Once you transition it can be a bit tough since you didn't form friends in Boston yet. But no one judges you, in fact a lot or jealous they didn't get to travel abroad. The one shitty thing is you get put in a hotel for a semester( 20 min away from campus) but by the next year (sophmore) your just a normal student
