you can choose what type of Harvard experience you get. if you want to, you can coast thru easier courses or drown yourself in more intense/stimulating courses. you can do research; you can get involved in extracurriculars. you can be friends with wannabe politicians (i still don't know if this was ironic but i overheard a kid say "once i become president, i'll choose you as a supreme court justice." the fact that i think it could be unironic is telling something yk?), startup kids (some of them are hardworking, smart, and rlly kind, but i also met a kid who was just irritatingly "i'm an entrepreneur, so i think differently"), academic-oriented kids, athletes, other types of kids, or some blend

so, it's hard to generalize, and i'm only in my second year. but, i can speak for myself: there are some parts about Harvard that I dislike, but I'm overall happy to be on campus.
