Simply put, they are a rival school in the same area so of course I will be biased toward Georgetown, I’m sure they think we are overtly political and have our own quirks too

And i think out of these three, GW has the best location. like all you have to do is take orange, blue, or silver and youre at the Capitol South station within minutes, right at the US Capitol.

Not sure about hierarchy of treatment. Generally put, if you distinguish yourself as a capable person, you’ll get the respect you rightfully deserve. Naturally, Georgetown students are lent a tiny bit more credibility on a first impression because they attend a “more scholarly” (if that’s even the right term) university but reputation can only get you so far. Just know that you get out of your college experience what you put in, and you can make your four years amazing if you make it happen

There are certainly some dumb kids at gtown and there are definitely some smart kids at GW, really just matters how you decide to spend your time which will determine where you fall

If you’re invested in the college app process enough to be asking for advice in this discord, I trust that you will do just fine no matter where you end up

Georgetowns neighborhood is gorgeous and it’s in such a pretty area. The lack of accessibility could be a downside occasionally but it’s not often (if ever) that I wish I was on a city campus

from my experience, the busses were not really as consistent in terms of timing as the trains

I think it definitely helped me. I wrote my main essay about Jesuit values, how I’m looking to explore my faith in an academic setting so it worked out very well. Georgetown really was the perfect fit for me, and they recognized that in my application. The Jesuit boost isn’t everything though, I think I just happen to fit the Jesuit model well

Funnily enough, I was just applying to be a retreat leader! Yeah the retreats usually leave Friday evening or Saturday evening and return the next day. The facilities are awesome. The retreat complex are in these beautiful forests and mountains just outside the DMV area. When I went in the fall the trees were changing colors, it was so pretty. As for the spirituality, I went on a Catholic retreat but there are also retreats for other faith traditions or really any students that just want to go

But the Catholic retreats are meant to mimic the travels and journey of St. ignatius
