The one issue is the CS labs are decently competitive and it's slightly hard to get it as a first year unless you have experience

However I would advise you to not only focus on the most popular and well known labs because some smaller labs

Eg. I do remember one lab doing some sort of AI related to law

the amazing thing about fordham is that you don't have to live on campus for freshman year!

this means that you should not because frankly off-campus apartments will be much larger for the same/less than what fordham is billing you with

in LC's case it's slightly different because you get nice views of manhattan but imo commuting is better because you also get a $15k grant for that :>
