I just figured out today that my school dissolved my calculus class so I emailed already

My counselor won't even contact me lmao, no email or anything that my class is gone because I'm technically still in the class but no else is because the counselor can't figure out my schedule

I'm going to be real, when they finally decide to call me down to the counselor's office I feel like I'm going to be in there for a very, very long time...

The entire counselor team is doing stuff I cannot comprehend at this point, maybe it makes sense to them but not me because the reason they dissolved my calculus class was to turn it into a geometry class

Usually my counselor is ok, but I think because of my schedule I've become public enemy number one in the counseling office

On the bright side, they literally can't switch the 20 some kids into the geometry class because there's still technically a class period so they have to contact me eventually lol

In the meantime I have a calc period all to myself 👍

Maybe not quite complicated? Some classes only have one or two period, like in my case AP Chem is only 1st period and Varsity Choir is only 4th etc. My schedule has about 4 periods where I cannot change it to any other period because it's the only period offered (I planned my scheduling out since like freshman or sophomore year to fit all the classes I wanted to take because of the scarcity of class periods of certain classes) so my schedule is essentially locked, changing one class would take changing nearly my entire schedule

The reason the counselors probably thought they could easily switch everyone is because most seniors aren't going to be taking a full schedule of classes like me....

The only solution that I liked when I discussed with my calc teacher was trying to turn my calc period into an independent study period, which I was more ok with because I could take the exam but the issue was I'm 90% sure it won't be marked in my transcript and the only way I could prove my credit is through the AP exam which is in May. My sister suggested I ask the counselors go and change the name of the period and maybe I could ask my calc teacher to write a personal note about my learning during independent study to prove that I'm earning my calc credit? I'm not sure yet

They said it was fine for me to take on-level calculus, but if I can't fit it I can try to earn my credit through a community college or online program (not really feasible for me because I don't have $500+ to spend, course registration has already closed for most CCs, or calc 1 isn't offered this semester) and finally if none of the options work I could always do self-study however I would need to provide supplemental material (not sure what that would entail) from my school to give context and I guess verify my calc credit
