Lemme read thru tho
Cog sci is very niche; im trying to transfer to a&s to major in it next yr
Yale i believe has cog sci
As does nyu
And vassar college (LAC though)
I think brown tufts, jhu as well (baltimores a bit ugly though)
I think u can def use uc as safety but maybe apply to all or most, including merced and or riverside
Ucsd also has cog sci
I thought
I think u of south cali does as well
That could be a nice option if u like the vibe
Pomona and occidental too
Vanderbilt has a great cog sci program, of course it's in the south but Nashville is a liberal city
ah yes I have heard of the psych stuff, no problem!
Yesss Penn has a dual degree thing for cog sci
If you also like computer science stuff
CMC?
wait im dumb
wrong claremont college
Here is a list (to add/consider)
California schools:
Reaches: Pomona, USC
Targets: Scripps, UCSD, UCI, UC Davis, UCSB, Occidental
Safeties: USD, UCSC, Santa Clara University
Other schools (all should be in coastal states):
Reaches: Harvard, Williams, Amherst, Yale, Princeton, Colgate U, Duke, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Columbia
Targets: URoch, Skidmore, Trinity College, URichmond, William & Mary
Safeties: Mount Holyoke
@fiery sparrow rice has a strong cog sci program
I mean they offer classes in CS and AI, not sure if they are required but no one stopping you from taking whatever the heck you want here
a double major/dual degree in cog sci and comp sci is really common
theres enough overlap in the two departments that it's a really doable double major
at least at rice, you just apply to one specific school (undergrad majors are split up into different schools, i.e. engineering, humanities, architecture, natural sciences)
not sure you can apply as a double major
but once you're there it is dogshit easy to double major, even across different schools
i have two majors and a minor, each at a different school, and literally all i did to get them was just say "okay i want to do this" and take the classes i need. so easy
and fyi when i say schools i don't mean universities/institutions, i meant those undergraduate "schools" that house different departments
You can apply across schools. I mean they ask for three majors, you select the school of your first choice major, like I did math so wiess natural sciences, but my third choice was EE (which is in Brown).
The only ones that are separate are music and architecture
But yeah majoring at Rice is just taking whatever classes that fulfill your major. Though given engineering/CS requirements you shouldn’t try to start them past fall sophomore or you won’t finish
For the BS
oh i don't remember that lmfao
been a while
yay ofc lmk if you have any more qs!!
