Location: Currently in LA, would love to move away but am looking all over the US. Location isn’t a big priority to me.

Major: Business Administration / Business Economics
Econ major with a concentrations or minors in management are fine.
A college with a business school is a plus. Entrepreneurship minors or certificates are nice too.

**GPA/Course-load:
** I go to an ultra competitive high school that is notorious for grade deflation and work load. At just under a 3.8 going in to junior year.
School is slowly phasing out APs, projected to take 12 honors / APs.

Test Scores: SAT scoring mid 1400s without studying. Targeting 1500 - 1540

List (14)
UW Madison, IU Bloomington, UCSD, Babson, UCSD, UVA, Michigan, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Georgetown, Cornell, Penn, Brown, UChicago

Notes:
Defined campus is a must (NYU wouldn’t work for example).
I believe my ECs to be quite good, especially related to my major.
The following are preferences but aren’t essential:

  • At least mid sized
  • Good school spirit
  • Business school
  • Not in the center of a city

My list is slightly reach heavy at the moment 🙂

Yeah I had a feeling I was going to get this suggestion. I might end up applying because of the prestige and the business school, but I don’t love Pittsburgh and it seems like a depressing environment with low school spirit. If anyone is currently there I would love your thoughts.

Maybe Northwestern?

Fits all of these:

also sorry for another reach but I gotta rep my school 💀

Yeah I visited it and to be honest I wasn’t entirely blown away. If I’m looking for hard reaches I may as well apply to one with an undergrad business school that I really loved. The size and school spirit are perfect though

#

Additionally, my high school has a lot of data on where we do / don’t do well and NW is one that we do pretty poorly at.

I do appreciate both the suggestions though @spark eagle @torpid monolith

UNC fits most of your critera, and it's a gorgeous college town, same thing with Duke, although both are reaches. A safety you could look into is PSU, very solid business program in terms of finance and overall management. UIUC generally has a well regarded program too and would be a target, but it's more well known as a big 4 school while feeding a handful of kids into MBB.

#

PSU does also have an undergraduate business school, as you were looking for

Yeah between UNC and Duke, UNC is a low reach and Duke is a hard reach for everyone

A few years ago someone from my school broke their Duke athletic commitment and we haven’t gotten anyone in since.

#

Went from 3-4 a year to 0

Yeah I’ve heard particularly UNC has a high instate rate. I’m legacy at UVA so I hope that helps.

#

small enough for u to get alot of attention

#

school spirit is slightly lacking since i lowkey think most of them are nerds haha (dont judge me)

#

many of my friends went there and they weren't the most energetic ppl ever

#

def has a defined campus and a good architecture

warm warren
#

just u get even more personalised attention

#

since the school is much smaller in size

#

(about half of emory)

#

and u basically get the same quality of education

#

emory is slightly closer to atlanta (a big city) than wake

#

wake is also around a 10 mins drive to winston salem

#

but the city is much smaller than atlanta

#

purdue, case western, bucknell could be ur safety ish

#

and u can add usc to finish ur reach bus schools

Thanks so much for the wake suggestion. Will for sure look into it.

no problem :>

#

u're profile looks great so u're good

#

u still have 2 years to improve too so u're right on track

#

i'd recommend taking IB business

#

it covers alot of the first 2 years for business

#

(tho u prob wont get credits - at least right now i didn't)
