purdue is a great easier cs one
yeah, exactly. All are pretty good. Dartmouth's definitely is
20ish percent
Yale has a slightly lower admit rate, but both are pretty close to the same level of difficulty
like 6vs 5% or so
im not sure
on reddit it said around 22%

if u're applying to an ivy league school
regardless of the major
its gonna be very competitive (very low acp rate)
and they don't admit by major
ye
purdue is a great school tho
big steal
not too hard to get into but its tech side is very good (engineering + cs)
fair point
tho i'd rather go to uiuc than yale for cs
if u go to yale, it'd be better for some kinda math stuff not cs
I plan on doing a business CS type route career wise so I'd pick the Ivy personally
not really
it all depends on u
what u do in college/graduate ultimately determines ur future
(ur employment future)
yes being in an ivy school sorta prep u better for career in the future
because they provide you with internship fair internally
if u're in a less prestigious school, those things u just gotta find online (externally) or go around your local community and find jobs
depends on what you want to do after college
a lot of tech jobs are just merit based
school brand can help with quantitative finance
not sure what other fields
most schools have career fairs
yes but not lower ranked ones (or rather not as good)
cs is probably the most popular major at brown
ofc all of these schools have pretty decent programs so the thing that makes brown stand out is the open curriculum and the focus on undergraduate education
a lot of ugrads are involved in the TA program, which also means that the cs course sites tend to be nicer-looking than usual lmao
here's a particularly nice one
plus cs15 is known for having their TAs perform skits
it would be concerning if a course on UI design had a bad design
oh fine here's the operating systems course
no front end experts here
not as cute but functional
will be next year yep
ah nice
Northwestern is good but not up to par with like a Cornell or Princeton for CS
you should apply to CMU, I think the CS class is only 200 and the undergrad population is pretty small
def apply to lower CS programs like Duke and Dartmouth, atleast from my research they still looked like solid options
are you not gonna apply to the public OOS schools
UMD? Georgia Tech? Purdue? UW Madison? UVA?
also can add like USC, NYU, and Harvey Mudd
for good private schools
i'd apply to more schools if you have the time and a fee waiver/no care for money
CS admissions are tough, I personally applied to i think 35 schools
I think 21
10
10 were targets/safeties
rest were reaches
by reach I mean like around 10 percent and below
