UC Berkeley EECS vs UPenn CS

You can't go wrong with either. You seem to like Penn more.

Go to Penn.

to "argue" against your cons:
Seasonal depression isn't really a thing, having a moderate Cali climate year-round isn't that much better than enjoying a nice spring and summer after a long winter imo.
Ok yes, Philadelphia is no Silicon Valley but are recruiters really gonna brush aside a UPenn app? There's also many big cities in the Northeast with big tech scenes.
Despite being Wharton-focused, Penn's CS is still top 20, that's no joke.
And no, preppy/rich is just on the outside, Penn is a large school and there's no doubt you can find friends that aren't preppy or rich if you don't like those people.

which one is cheaper and what do you want to do after graduating? i like philly more than berkeley tbh. research at penn is pretty cool imo.

If you're set on CS, Berkeley

#

If u want to explore and double major or stuff, Penn

#

Let me say this, Penn isn't even close to Berkeley CS. Ik I'm gonna get obliterated by people but honestly, Berkeley CS is godly

Does that matter? Either way you just go to leetcode.com and spam your resume until you get a check for $200k because you can reverse a linked list.

EECS is cracked

As a UCLA head, Iโ€™m recommending Berkeley if youโ€™re set in CS

Nah the other commenter is right. No matter what school you go to , if you grind a few leetcode problems everyday and spam apply, you should be fine. However, by going to a better CS school, you will get more callbacks. But not that much more. Half the battle is getting a human to look at your resume.

what did you end up picking?

That was honestly the best choice. If it was anything else Iโ€™d choose penn but for anything engineering or CS related Berkeley was the move.
