#Harvard vs Umich CS

I'm so torn between these two great universities and each offer something that the other cannot.

Umich - Close to home and is arguably a better school for computer science (Rank 11 vs Rank 16 on US News)

Harvard - Offers a lot more support to students since it is a smaller campus, the Harvard name, and it is a lot more of a diverse campus

Both- Have given me a full ride with Harvard being slightly more generous in terms of refunds

I think in my case the question comes down to whether the Harvard name holds up in tech or if the resources it does offer to its students out weight its slightly lower ranking and being 12hrs from home? I would appreciate any insight into this topic whether it be your experiences in either schools or how hard moving from home for college is.

Look where graduates from both end up working after graduation. Both great, but great at slightly different things. Also think about if you want a larger/smaller school, athletics and clubs, etc

I'm very biased (I go to harvard) but take harvard. placement is basically as good as it gets postgrad and you'll benefit from the more concentrated resources

there's definitely a selection bias effect but I would be extremely surprised if mich placement is better than harvard

I saw one person on reddit who went to harvard and wished he went to umich instead, but I don't get why.
Also MIT is RIGHT THERE
you can go to their hackathons, and cross register if harvard isn't fitting you for some reason
