Schools: Arizona State University, Virginia Tech
Intended major: International relations/political science/global affairs
Virginia Tech
School 1 Pros:
- Somewhat close to family, Really homey feel to the campus, Better ranked
- Actually has international relations programme, along with good connections and internships (DoS, etc)
-Climate is more what I’m used to, Super pretty, Many people I know are there/going
School 1 Cons:
- Expensive (25k/yr), Kinda isolated
Arizona State University
School 2 Pros:
- Big community, Lots of new buildings
- VERY cheap (basically full ride)
- Phoenix is a nice city with family friends nearby, Likely honors college
- May transfer to Thunderbird school of global management if i do not like major
School 2 Cons:
- Does not have IR programme. only has global studies and polsci
- Far away from fam (logistically difficult and expensive), HOT.
- Party school..? not that i’m opposed, but reputations etc, Not as highly ranked
Tiebreaking considerations:
- Will my VT degree be worth the extra $$ How important is a T60 rank to a T150?
