#UC Berkeley vs UCLA vs Brown

Providence isn't that cold
obviously price difference is a factor, but doesn't seem to be too big?
Intended major: I got into UCLA and UC Berkeley for mathematics, and at Brown, I would concentrate in math and CS (and/or possibly applied math).
Berkeley
Pros:
- in state (but I don't have to pay the full cost for Brown so this doesn't have too much weight)
- Bay Area so lots of internships
- Nice weather
- Research powerhouse
- a bunch of close friends are going
Cons:
- undergrads get less funding so worse housing, food, etc.
- huge class sizes.
- I'm not sure if I would be able to do undergraduate research in math because of competitiveness.
- hard to get into certain classes
Brown
Pros:
- Ivy League
- Good alumni network
- Small class sizes
- Open curriculum, so lots of flexibility
- More laid-back atmosphere.
- More likely to be able to do undergraduate research.
Cons: - Less of a research powerhouse.
- Would have to commute to Boston for internships during the year.
- It's cold.
- even with aid, it's gonna be more expensive.
UCLA
Pros:
- Similar to the ones in Berkeley.
- But better undergraduate student life
Cons:
- Also similar to the ones in Berkeley, though Berkeley math is probably better??
original post deleted so here it is
brown and it isn't close. The UCs are so overcrowded

i think i would pay around 35k for cal and la and maybe around 55k for brown
both are affordable for my family
i think the tiebreaker for me might be resaerch
because berkeley math is probably second only to MIT
at least for research
im just not sure how much of that is accessible to undergrads
yeah, i would guess brown has much better UG research opportunities
debatable... But yea. it's def there and small size = easy access
If I were u, OP, i'd go brown
