Ayo! I’m also applying for physics 🙂 maybe UWashington?
Run NPC of the schools
Some of those schools cost that much per year ðŸ˜
Like GT OOS is 50k/ year
I would say run NPC
Of all the schools
Bc schools like brown caltech night offer a good amount of aid
ðŸ˜
It’s ok
Do you have safeties in Canada
Usually
Just search up net price calculator
I’m in AP server
Ok
So I would say just see the price for the reach schools
Also USC will give merit aid
If you apply early
Actually no thats wrong
If you apply early for USC you will have the possibility of being considered for merit aid
Do you have a CB acc bc you might be able to just put the schools you’re thinking of on it considering everything I did NPC it said do you want to sign into CB acc
Yes
Idk 💀
Just test it out for one college then see
Idk
I think in fafsa calculation(won’t matter to you since intl I think) it will probably give you a higher EFC
Bc the assumption is since your married you’re not a dependent so you can pay more
Oh
Then yeah
You’re domestic
If you have US citizenship
For privates all that matters is you’re US citizen
For publics you’re gonna be considered OOS for everyone
Rip
ðŸ˜
If you were cali I would say just do UCs and ASU
I believe so
Just put something random
You can try negotiating
I believe most of the reach schools you mentioned like caltech brown meet full need for intls
Yeah
EA doesn’t give you more aid
I gotta go to sleep now
Goodbye
If ur domestic, try community college and then transfer? It will get ur prices down for sure
Dang 💀 ur completely right
Have you looked at University of Arizona, MIT, and Columbia (ik you said fewer core classes but it has a great astrophysics program) /any other ivies?
Also I would talk to calypso because I believe she is a astrophysics major
No no not asu, university fo Arizona but that’s fair
Try using Niche rankings to see the physics program at each school! Also, you can ask around on the school’s subreddit 🙂
I heard privates might give more aid on average if you’re international? Not sure tho
Could I suggest adding more UCs to the target section? All the colleges are pretty decent in physics (bc we have really good engineering faculty)
Virginia Tech is pretty good too 😄
University of Alabama is known for giving good aid as well
As a backup u could do CC in California and transfer to a UC (since they all rank at least top 60 for physics, except Riverside and Merced 💀) if you transfer from CCs the acceptance rate is much higher than applying international
Hope this helps!
I think everything but Merced and Riverside is rlly good in physics
Yes!
Btw can I add u 😄 as a friend
Oooh
