If you know you wanna do premed, strongly consider just going to your state school so you can save money for med school

#

Hopkins is pretty good

#

Duke

#

Rice

#

Northwestern

#

CWRU

#

Georgetown

#

Tulane

#

CMU

#

And the LACs

#

I’d say Carleton especially, but also WASP and maybe Bowdoin

No matter how “challenging” or “prestigious” your highschool is, a 3.6 and 1470 is relatively low for the schools you listed in title as they already reaches for literally everybody, no matter stats. However, your activities are quite strong. Try your best to bump up your gpa before end of jr year.👍

Test scores aren’t considered to the same degree that they were before because not everyone has them

#

But I agree with the overall take

I thought CMU is really only for cs, data science, math, and possibly business

#

and I didnt really think of Rice as a good pre med school

#

Are they really on par with the other schools you listed for pre med?

No it has a really good pre med program too, but what neon dragon said is very valid. 5 years ago, my older cousin was choosing between Duke and CMU. Although Duke is relatively better, he was actually gonna choose CMU because it was actually close in terms of pre med prestige and a lot closer to home. He ended up choosing Duke though because one of his friends who went to CMU scared him with a grade deflation take and he wanted to get a high undergrad gpa for med school

#

Def not as famous as CMU’s engineering, math, CS, and business programs tho
