#UW Madison vs Tulane vs UMiami vs American: Education/IR/S/Language/PR-Comms/Business

Schools: UW Madison vs Tulane vs UMiami, American

Intended major: Elementary Education, Secondary Education, International Studies/Relations (with language concentration), Business (Management, Marketing, and Human Resources preferred), and/or Public Relations.

Similarities: UW Madison and American are strong in these fields. UMiami and Tulane have a similar climate.

UW Madison
School 1 Pros:

  • in capital city
  • full ride
  • lakefront
  • diverse, lots of things to do
  • lots of programs to choose from

School 1 Cons:

  • my full ride is bound to staying in the school of education (lots of options, but restricted to SoE if i want my education to still be fully paid, im also oos)
  • its biggg
  • inland, not really close to much except for chicago but thats like 2hrs+

Tulane
School 2 Pros:

  • happy & fun college campus
  • lively city and culture
  • easy to switch schools and majors
  • admitted to all schools
  • gives good need and merit aid

School 2 Cons:

  • party school to the core
  • get district easily from my education
  • very white and jewish
  • hurricanes (i live in Florida lol)
  • spending too much money/struggling to keep up with the lifestyle

UMiami
School 2 Pros:

  • happy & fun college campus
  • lively city and culture
  • easy to switch majors within school
  • pretty buildings

School 2 Cons:

  • get district easily from my education
  • very white and rich
  • hurricanes (i live in Florida lol)
  • spending too much money/struggling to keep up with the lifestyle
  • not that easy to switch schools apparently

American
School 2 Pros:

  • in DC suburb
  • has all of the majors i want
  • easy to switch schools and majors
  • applied for like 5 scholar programs

School 2 Cons:

  • dead social scene
  • not in DC
  • harder to get internships compared to georgetown and gwu
  • can get very political
  • not getting as much aid if i dont get into a scholars program

Addendum:
I don't mind location as I have grown up in various US settings. I prefer mild weather, but have lived is freezing cold with blizzards and humid heat with hurricanes. 2k-10k freshman. I don't mind how big overall. I prefer coast, but can deal with inland. I like modern, traditional modern (think UGA, Wake Forest), and glorious (think Duke, Georgetown, Yale), don't mind color scheme, and prefer cities or goood towns.

id say uw madison will give you the most valuable education experience with a lot of very solid majors

it also has a beautiful campus and a lot of opportunities if you work hard

#

for the other schools, imo wis madison is a better version of umiami

#

there isn’t really any reasons to choose miami over wis

#

tulane on the other hand does offer something special, if you’re looking for a liberal arts education and very focused on you learning

#

but then again tulane is a LAC more known for its culture and spirit than full academic power

#

and i would not choose American because it just doesn’t offer a lot.

but that’s my personal opinion

yeah, when it comes to academics, uw madison offers me a lot more, but both schools would allow me to make my own major (though youll never know if it'll get approved?)

im also kinda pre law and i know madison would offer more alone because of how louisiana practices law

but social life, tulane far more
