Location/Region: NYC (ideally i’d like to go oos but whatever happens, happens)
Major: Political Science/Government/Public Policy/Politics/International Relations (combined major for some schools on my list)
GPA/Test Scores (optional): tough to explain because i spent 2 years doing foreign exchange but if i did the math correctly it’s 3.8 UW and 4.4 W. haven’t taken the SAT yet but aiming for a 1450+
Curriculum: I honestly don’t care, I do want to juggle a full time internship though while in school.
Size: Preferably small but I don’t care
Costs: My family said they can take on 30k a year but the rest is on me.
Schools you're currently looking at (if any): here is a preliminary list ranked by preference

  • Georgetown University EA - Government (BA)
  • Vanderbilt University RD - Political Science (BA)
  • Washington & Lee University EDII - Politics (BA)
  • William & Mary RD - International Relations (St. Andrews Joint Degree Programme) (BA)
  • New York University RD (Legacy) - Politics (BA)
  • University of Florida RD - Political Science (BA)
  • University of Notre Dame EA - Political Science (BA)
  • The George Washington University RD - Dual Political Science with a Focus on Public Policy and Public Policy Masters (BA/MPP)
  • Northeastern University EA - Political Science/International Affairs (BA)
  • Wake Forest University RD - Political Science/International Affairs (BA)
  • Boston College RD - Political Science (BA)
  • University of Wisconsin Madison EA - Political Science (BA)
  • University of Maryland College Park EA - Dual Public Policy and Public Policy Masters (BA/MA)
  • American University RD - Political Science (BA)
  • CUNY Baruch College - Political Science (BA)
  • SUNY Binghamton University RD - Philosophy, Politics and Law (BA)

Additional: i’d like to be in a place with a lot of political opportunities (that’s why i have 3 DC schools on my list). i’d also like to be in a more warmer environment but that’s the least of my concerns

I would reccomend John Jay CUNY for a law school, but also Syracuse and Binghamton University. For politics maybe BC or Yale or Duke?

so they are only willing ot pay 30, but will your EFC be much higher? Like do you need somewhere where you will get merit aid?

#

EFC will probably be calculated much higher

#

FAFSA fails to realize that living in nyc more than half of your yearly salary goes to taxes

#

so families look rich on paper

#

but in their wallets they have nothing to show for it
