Junior Data Sci or + and Econ major college list

Location: California, Illinois, or North Eastern Region
Major: Data Science, Data/Business Analytics, Economics
GPA/Test Scores: 4.0 UW (all honors, 6 AP's done by junior year, 9 total), 1500 SAT
Curriculum: I want good rigor
Size: Medium/Small classes
Schools Im looking at: Northwestern, Duke, Ivy's, UC's, Stanford, MIT, NYU
Additional: D1 athletics (preferred) , hour or less from major city, nice looking campus, good social life, Top 30 in major, flexibility regarding double majors/minors/etc.

Im currently debating which school to ED to, Im leaning towards northwestern. any colleges I missed I'd appreciate if someone would let me know.

how set are you on a data science major?

lots of schools won't have that explicitly but you could do like cs + stats

yeah, if they dont have a data science major ill probably do cs + econ or stats

ik michigan + northeastern both have ds majors, but i would highly recommend not majoring in ds as an undergrad. a cs major in combination with like math or stats is much more flexible, and ds usually requires a masters so u can just do a cs undergrad and ds masters

I think GW and NEU have combined/dual majors in Data Science +Econ/CS

What about the financials? Do you need aid? How much can you and your family afford?

yeah, i will need fin aid, my parents are retired and have a work income of like 12k.

my parents can afford around 30k per year

okay that's good to know--that probably eliminates all out-of-state publics except UVA and UNC (because they give need based aid to OOS students)
