Location/Region: I prefer urban and suburban (in 10-20 min proximity to a metro city) in any of the coastal areas (meaning from the high west coast to Texas, to the east coast including Northeast). Preferably good public transport/walking since I don't want to drive during college.
Major: International Studies/Spanish, International Relations/Spanish/Business, Secondary Education in Spanish, History, or English.
GPA/Test Scores (optional):
3;3uw/3.8w (complicated a bit. 4.0 & 4.3 freshman year -- all honors,
sophomore year: 2.8/4 & 3.3/5 doing 3 APs, 4 honors, and 2 gen ed electives,
junior year: 3.5/4 & 4.1/5 doing 3.5 honors, 2 gen electives, and 7 APs.
Test optional for mostly all schools, but I got a 24 on the act.
Got a 5 on AP Spanish. This has to do with reason, and it has been explained to the colleges I've applied to.
Curriculum: I can handle an easy or challenging curriculum. I'm big on schools that are less on competition and more on collaboration (student-wise).
Size: I prefer medium-sized colleges (5k-15kish) or prominent colleges with many programs that enable a smaller environment.
Costs: I can do at most 8-10k out of pocket, but I prefer schools that meet a total need or are close to it. I am applying for aid.
Additional: I like to party sometimes, but I am not a super party person. I like going out and having fun, but I am not rich to go out all the time, so many on-campus perks and resources would be dope. I'm also bi, so maybe not a homophobic university or overly homophobic city? I am also of Puerto Rican (Caribbean Latino) and Cape Verdean (Macaronesian Iberian/African) descent, so communities that probably have a good amount of PRs/Latinos/Caribbeans and CVs/Portuguese/Macaronesian would be dope!!
I also have strong LORs, essays, and extracurriculars skewed toward education.
