midwestern
Lmao I got my interview registration at 5:11 and registered at 5:13š
im a simp
SAME
so i'm not feeling too grateful that i exist at the moment
which ones left?
yeah no it suckssss
ahh u got this
thankss we will see
i didnt even think i could do one of the essays let alone four so im hoping i can just get through it
you got this!!
did yāall just pick virtual
i put in-person
I put in-person!
Are interviews truly optional š
last day to sign up for one is january 7th
no
yup i got my email!
does everyone get invited or just if an interviewer in your area
everyone afaik
you put in a request and if thereās one in your area theyāll get to you
yeah i got one but i live in ky so thereās probably none in my area
felt (de)
but itās still worthwhile to put in the request
shows ur interested in NU even if you donāt get an interview
yes
but it's encouraged to have one
if you can anyways
yes but "optional" isnt really optional
if you want a chance for AOs to get to know you aside from your stats ecs and essays this is it
especially for a selective school like NW in the rd round
only caveat with that is that some still won't get interviews anyways
true
so itās 100% fine if i prefer online over in person?
i have rlly bad anxiety and donāt think i could feasibly sit down in front of an interviewer at a random location by myself
yes that's fine! i think it said on the email that it wouldnt effect your admission
i did mine virtually if that helps
has anyone here already had an interview? (Looking for intel on some of the questions they ask
... I remember that my MIT interviewer asked me some questions I didn't exactly have prepared, so my answers were a little scuffed lmao)
It's okay if you haven't gotten one yet! Sometimes it just takes time because there aren't enough alumni in your area and/or if you don't end up getting one, it won't be counted against you since it was out of your control.
i was asked about my ECs, why i was interested in NU, and what i specifically would bring to northwestern
Interesting!
they asked other stuff, but i cant remember :(
I see
How long did it last?
Iāve only had 2 interviews so far, and both lasted about 1 hr
30 mins is the standard, but id bring a few questions bc u can make it 45 if u keep the convo going
u were asked about ur Ecs?
yes
he asked what i spent a lot of my time doing in my community i think
so ECs
Oh also did you do the interview virtually or in person
same
i talked to my other friend who EDed tho and he got completely different questions
virtually
oh damn
also if this helps, i swear my interview was like a 4/10
Interesting⦠do yk what qs he got?
i didnt bomb it but like
it was so meh
i answered questions fine, but my interviewer and i just didnt connect
You got in tho sooo
was the person interviewing u all serious or laid back conversational?
Btw which school did you apply to?
mccormick + bienen dual degree
I plan on applying to McCormick as well!
id say casual
my interviewer was just wearing a nu tshirt lol
I think interviewers have a lot of freedom to ask what they want. Generally theyāll ask āwhy northwesternā or ātell me about yourselfā, but after that itās really can be anything.
the hardest question i got tho was "what would u specifically bring to northwestern"
i had already talked ab my interests, and i didnt just wanna repeat that
so i somehow went on a tangent about different russian salads my grandma likes to make
yeah idk š
This video helped me. https://youtu.be/z8objUDm-tw
We know that the college application process can be stressful and confusing, and now we've added a pandemic to the mix. Enter Applied Learning. This vlog series will feature our admission directors talking through some of the topics we know are on your minds. The vlogs are not specific to Northwestern ā they're designed to give you more general ...
Wait how do you request an interview? Do I mail the admissions office?
No, they will send an email to you, if you said you were open to having an interview in your CommonApp
I don't see any option to request an interview in my application portal
Oh kk
Oh, maybe it wasn't on the CommonApp... I've honestly just forgotten at this point š
But I did get my notification earlier today to sign up for an interview, if interested, earlier today.
It might have been on the CommonApp, though.
page and a half
all of my stuff was summarized on my CA
Are yall doing the interview
1 pg, for resumes thats the sweetspot
id do it, unless ur extremely anti-social or have anxiety issues, i cant imagine an interview hurting u
id imagine itd only do nothing or help ur application
Ye I'm doing it
how long do they take to send our interviews after registering? anyone who EDed got an idea?
i applied on 29th december
they sent quite a few applicants an email today
with a link to register for interviews
but i haven't gotten the actual interview assigned yet
yup i applied dec 27 and just got my link
Omg guys Iām panicking idk why I signed up for an interview I know nothing about this school to a decent enough depthš
do they do online interviews?
do some research
š
Ye
I don't think they're going to be quizzing you on northwestern facts lmao
Wait
requesting an interview really isn't b/c it's a 30 second way to show demonstrated interest but if you don't get one your not at a disadvantage
should always be only 1 page
for me it was like 2 days after
#1 most important thing in an interview especially at Northwestern is convincing them that you will actually go if accepted, my interviewer told me that basically all the questions they are given are meant to figure that out (which are useless for ed lol). Northwestern really cares about yield
so research
what questions did they ask during the northwestern interview@
Mine is 3 š
for high schoolers 2 is alright usually
professionally it should always be 1 tho yes
they dont do interviews for internationals or sumn ?
then probably they dont have a strong alumni network where you live
they do
If youāre talking about the email to request an interview, it took like 2-3 days for me to get it. Then it took like a week for someone to reach out. It might take longer during regular since there are more people applying.
they already sent out an email for ur interview?
Yeah
Probably because I literally registered 2 min after the registration email was sent out
And it's first come first serve
wait i received the email to sign up for interviews last night but was too tired to register immediately, i just went to register and it says the form is "currently private and cannot be viewed by the public", is it closed now?
is it based on region at all for interviews, cause i live in the sticks in new england
I think they divide interviewers by region
But for Northwestern getting one is first come first serve
gm
oh shoot
i hope not
How would you answer this question on the Interview request form?
"Special interests or programs of interest (Please do not respond N/A. This information will help us match you with an alum with similar interests, when possible.)"
the major you applied for, any additional things to plan on pursuing or doing (like a minor or double major)
maybe some extracurriculars? just so that they can find an alum who is similar to you and you can ask questions and hey can answer
i dotn remember getting this for my form
huh
lemme send a screenshot
they already asked that
but thanks, I'll add my potential double major
yea tbh i dont think they asked for any of that
i applied wcas
yea that might be why oops
they didnt ask that either just address and name
ig its just mccormick
maybe something new for RD idk
mccormick lmao
thats washU
Oh yeah I did that too
i hate that their names are so similar
but I got an email a few hours ago
about actually registering for one
it might be new for RD i dont remember it happening for ED
maybe since theres more applicants they want to find the best fit for you? idk
is this good?
ah I see
yea thats def just for rd applicants
google form lmfao
did you apply ED last nov?

yea i did got deferred tho...
Oh I'm sorry man. But you'll make it this round šŖ
hopefully !!!
Iām RD and didnāt get a form like this at all haha
me too
a deferral from northwestern is a good sign, according to online sources they only defer 1-2% which means you were totally qualified
but I do question how those sources get that number
They publish it themselves ig idk
same
Honestly just list a few improvements when able and you should probably be in
Northwestern doesn't defer much iirc
And reasons why you still want to attend
Yea all they asked was for a mid year transcript so hopefully that and my loci will work
Did you get an email about taking the next step after signing up with the ID?
no all i got was a confirmation email that i filled out the form
I got this a day after that
That's all I got too
good luck!
yeah really sell demonstrated interest in LOCIs
northwestern or northeastern š
Nu
dude
i didnt get an interview š¦
i answered the email maybe 20 min after, i was sleeping
interviewers have until mid feb to complete
Uhh, pretty normal stuff
She asked a lot about what I did outside of school
And what interested me about Northwestern given those ECs
Because demonstrated interest is a big factor
Nope
oh okay okk
Yeah
i did like two hours later
Be sure that you have some things that demonstrate interest
ur fine
wdym
Because, y'know, yield protection
Like, "I like Northwestern because [insert specific reason]"
Yup of course
i will do my research cause i BSed the why NU essay at 11:50 on the deadline
Haha alright š
ur ecs, why ur interested in nu, what u would bring to the campus, etc
pretty standard questions imo
i think they just want to get an idea of why the school is a good fit for u and why ur a good fit for the school
yes the interview is all about yield protection
Thank you everyone ā„ļø
So basically my "why northwestern" essay
no interview š
Me neither
perhaps
did you check spam?
one sec
like this
just checked, there wasn't an option
yeah
Just got my interview request.
same
me too omg
have you done an interview before? i personally haven't
at least for college interviews
only one for mit and it was on zoom
and i ended up getting deferred
my nw interview is in person tho so its even more nervewracking
i usually fidget w stuff when im nervous so i can do that online but not in person so thats kinda why im like ehhh
thats mostly a me thing tho
wow š¢
international be like ....
havent gotten anything
Im in the east coast still havent gotten anything so keep ur hopes up
Id honestly rather in person tbh
ah where u at tho?
which state?
if u in illinois and no interivew req
thats weird
Nah im in NJ
I got the original email to request the interview
But not the email from an alumn
not really
i think it's just about all the stuff that we're not able to see through your application
soft skills
prayin hard northwestern pulls through in rd rn
Ok itās both
im joining the megathreads for all the schools i applied to
ya
bay area asian cs male
ayyy same
Same
As a campus kid, NU is no.1 for me
I have a good amount of safeties yeah
45 schools though damn
Like 8 ig
Bro it was 44 but the MIT deadline extension was very tempting
FR
Okay but this is like deadass though
Northeastern has the best application portal
call us when youāre an MIT student š
šš don't expect any calls then š
Yeah it's fine tbh
š how many schools you got
Okay sheesh
wait omg same
Wait you have 34 as well
yeah I have 34
can we make a group DM chat for this LOL
YOURE FROM THE BAY AREA TOO???
But like L not my problem
Oh
ā„ļøš¤©
Sorry that was a joke I also feel for them
Sorry I'm more of a dvc kinda guy
But so true
Aight someone make the gc I'm on my phone rn
Diablo is so sexy
Yess
i did 25 from va LOL
nah nw portal clears
tbh im pre much intl so guess it checks out
neu's feels cheap imo š
it would be alright but the background is just yuck
i like umich and brown portals tbh
i agree
especially brown
middlebury's also slaps
yea ucla's sucks
wisconsin was disappointing lol
and washu looks good but I hate that theres no checklist
Any Int'l who got the interview
nope not yet
just got my northwestern interviewš
lowkey dont even know what to expect in it
have any of u guys had it yet
no interview sigh sigh sigh
No, not everyone gets one.
i just got my northwestern alum interview BUT i need to know if they know what major i chose
they donāt know anything
at least mine didnāt
Thanks phew and I hope your interview went great!
I got like 2 safeties or sth
Alr heard back from 1 (cuz both are early š)
W
Yeah same here
same lol
hopefully me š¤
Idk how u guys apply to like 30+ schools š
Are ur essays going down in quality, or are u somehow able to recycle, or r u just insane writers
I applied to 12 and I was incredibly burnt out after
I feel like so many of my schools didnāt overlap
vanderbilt, swarthmore, tufts, and another school i forget alreayd had the same essay and word count
I think I recycled literally one essay
damn rip
Yeah ik when u apply to more schools, u have more essays to recycle from, but I imagine u still have over 40 uniqueish essays
At least if they are reaches, which I assume they are
i feel like its more so that i was able to recycle the same ideas
rather than essays
cuz that was the hard part not necessarily writing it
more so figuring out what to write
I also suck/hate writing so essays were hard for me
So maybe if u like writing itās not as bad
in the middle
I feel like a good essay for me takes so long to produce, so seeing ppl grind out so many in a short period of time boggles me
Like I spent weeks on my why nu essay š
š
I donāt wanna come across as rude but like
Was it good
Idk how u get an essay done that quick
i personally
like it
i think its the best representation of me for the prompt
me for cornell
idk different peopel
have different writing processes
also congrats on northwestern
i think my nu essay was pre mid
my nu essay was pretty decent imo
idk
it was sesp so different from most of my other essays
ye
my essay was mid
that's always good for a why x essay lol
i mean it showed interest and allat but def worse than a good number of my top schools
like the only thing that my why x essays had in similarity wwas i tended to use the same hook
/conclusion
because i had really similar majors for some
i mean mine was same hook + course i like + club i like + research oppurtunity + same conclusion
the general formula i used
i don't think i had a set formula
whatever big things came to my mind about the university ig
i mean it wasnt exactly like that but in finding all those things i tend to find stuff that i come to like/ really niche things that spoke to me
yeah it's definitely a good formula
what i do (for all my essays even) is just organize specific talking points/skeletons and research on those
kind of like a map so i keep organized
i even dedicate word counts to each part, but sometimes i exceed those or go too low
wow we ae
are
the same person
except i
swapped the order of research and club
and whenever there wasnt enough room i wouldnt talk about club
i couldnt do that tbh
i just made a checklist throughout my research and then figured it out as I went
Im good at being conscious of wordcount though
ye
I think my best why us was cornell
cuz i found a very specific program they did in africa which is very similar to what i want to do
so i think it came out great
Anyone applying via Bienen?
i feel like my later essays have actually been my best
but i feel like im just jaded from writing and recycling like100 times now
im afraid ill get rejected from most my EA schools cuz i even changed my common app essay once I had more time to process stuff
SAME bro SAME
and fixed my additional info (did not know it was meant to be short)
ahsdfgbjndfjbnfj im a lil bit scared but whatever
and my ecs got slightly better
ayy thats always a W
its only 6/23 so should be chilling
i think i might get uva, va tech and umd
but have little to no hope for umich, ut austin and gtech
same asf
same to u
š
rn hoping for brown and cornell
but after columbia told me to f off
tbh like i have no hopes
idk if im ivy level (little illogical but ay)
fair
and ASU isnt even a bad option
i didnt even apply to ca tech xD
yepp same
sat blind a big turnoff
not worth
wen i did my uc app i was like where is the sat part
turns out they scrapped it
damnn
Good luck with both!
ty šš¾
You Int'l?
no
How many Int'l actually get the interview?
3
And since most of the Int'l interviews online, does this translates to rejection?
Cuz idt availability matters in this case
Or it does
Wot? Daily or so far in this discord?
in total from class of 2022
northwestern ao said only 3 intls got an interview
Ahh I'm not getting it at this point then ig and it doesn't matter
i made it up
Website or something?
idk the real number
F bru
its just based off availability
i am holding out hope for my interview i think it would rlly benefit my app
has anyone west coast gotten it
(not CA)
honestly good plan
i'm really not sure if some of my colleges are safeties or targets
i just
removed the target category
theyre now safeties or reaches
and if i wasnt sure
i just made them reaches
well honestly
safeties are determined as either on ur level (rough estimate) that u would very likely to get in + with usually a 60%+ acp rate
that's a good metric but being a CS applicant distorts the acceptance rate
so true
3.99 at time of applying
ur fine
got it to 4 this semester
low target
ok thx for the reassurance
i guess A Levels count as decent rigor
though they're not as highly regarded as IB
I think so? considering you do 6 IBs but only 3 A Levels
ah i see
Or in my case 4
We have internal exams
idk
3 times a semester i think
ah i see
but for my school ib - 7 is a 4.3 gpa
either my school is too smart or they just cant do rough estimate
thats fine then
ib is sm harder than a levels it's unfair
oxford gives way too much preference to a levels it's crazy
actually what are the chances of being accepted to oxbridge with APs
never heard anyone do that
why wud u go there with aps
I just remember seeing their admission requirements allowing APs
so there are probably US applicants who just applied there for the lols
but why š
what benefit does paying oxford 60k for a year have over paying domestic tuition
there is almost no reason for Americans to go to uni outside of America
I just had a dream about me getting into northwestern engineering with a half ride
But I didnāt even apply
And there something wrong with me š
yes
true
Nah my friend just got in lol š
Like the thing with IB is that its tiring
While A Level got big depth (depends on the subjects but generally they dive deeper than IB)
Mb its ur ancestors telling u abt ur mistake š
recycle a lot
i cut up and reused like a couple sentences from one and another and i would have a brand new one
guys what are northwestern interviews like are they typical interviews or do they talk about the school more
i think they want to get to know u but also see why u would be a good fit for the school
Ok uh guys I got my interview soon wish me luck and I actually donāt have a lot of talking points I gotta think
Ok me and my interviewer really didnāt vibe :(
I am really sorry to hear this happened to you, but you'll likely be okay! Interviews are a very small portion of the process.
It won't hurt you unless you did something bad, which you definitely didn't do, so you'll be okay.
mine and i didnt either
as long as u answered the questions fine i think ur okay
I agree.
Thank you!!
No problem, good luck!
Thanks we spent the bulk of the short interview talking about my test record which wasnāt really ideal
THANKS THANKS
:< so i received the email and did sign up for a NU interview on time, but iāve heard no communication since, is it possible to get in without one/with one in feb?
nah same here
and for a lot of others too
dw about it
we might get it a bit later towards end Jan maybe
100% yes!
If you never get offered an interview, it will never count against you. It's only an issue if you're offered one and decline it without a genuine excuse.
It's also not too late to receive interview offers! I agree with Cricket, you may hear sometime later this month or in rare cases, sometimes even in February.
alright, sounds good! at least i can sleep soundly knowing theyāll see i at least demonstrated interest
Good luck!
Northeastern's right. It will never harm you if you never get an interview.
Did yall submit like ur class schedules and stuff?
Apparently theres acategory for that
Category*
On ur portal
they'll find that on my mid-year so
Thatās only if your schedule has changed since you submitted ur app
and this^ is true anyway so you donāt need to
interviews can honestly hurt you way more than they can help so don't worry
it can still hurt more to not show interest
nah tbh
as long as youāre not awfully full of yourself, trying to kiss the interviewer, or shouting slurs, youāre fine
like it likely wonāt make much of a difference
Did everyone got the first gen event invite?
I did, and I am not first gen
Yeah explains it
I joined im not technically first gen
you can
resources for first gen
Ima join for the demonstrated interest
Not requesting one hurts
exactly
Relatable
honestly tho
i think they put student's interest as not considered on the common data set lol
nvm i was slightly wrong it's considered lmao
Northwestern doesn't have yield issues so I don't think demonstrated interest is too important, but it can only help
Northwestern definitely cares about demonstrated interest
Well yes, they "consider" it, but they sure aren't cwru or tulane about it
well their interest consideration is really only in the interview
they use that as the interest gauge
Right. It's stuff like the interview and essay and maybe campus visit. And less about attending bullshit info sessions or whatever.. afaik
yepp
āi actually attended a webinar about info for first gen students! as a double legacy, i found this very informativeā
š
Did someone say this for real? That's so messed up.
I know people who have gone and did this, just for demonstrated interest
and i think thatās very silly
Wasn't the event for 17th tho
i just finished my interview for northwestern
tbh i don't know how to feel about it the lady was nice and we got along well
but i don't know if we necessarily clicked
she gave lowkey short responses to my questions and i think im overthinking this rn
damn gl
dont
go to sleep š
Thatās horrible! Iām very disappointed to hear there are people doing that.
aint no way
tf that sentence doesnt even make sense š„²
yikes
yeah itās REALLY silly to just go to a webinar to show demonstrated interest, especially if youāre learning nothing from it
right?!> and I doubt it would even help too much in the demonstrated interest category in the first place
do u know how we can show di if we didnāt get an interview?
visiting is a great way to show interest, but they understand that not everyone is able to do that
for me my process was a bit different because i did audition for bienen, but i reached out to the music professors there who i would be working with to have a lesson with each of them
nu really cares about their yield rate, so they want to have some level of certainty that if they accept u u will go
ah rip
what about ED then, because itās basically binding for everyone š„¹ so does demonstrated interest not matter there?
also how would they know youāve shown interest by visiting
ED shows the highest amount of interest, so i think for ED they dont care ab it as much
for RD tho, when theres just so many apps and few spots, interest could push u over the top
hvnt got one either
location matters tho
all the interviews ive gotten r from my state or are around my state
so probably jus availability
rip
i think im on the same boat too
havent gotten an email abt interview yet
they emailed me explicitly stating this rip
You asked? Or they said it by themselves
did they say when interviews would be available until?
they said it
just slayed my northwestern interview!
Glad to hear it went well!
tysm!
loved my interviewer
Glad you had a great interview with them!
Hello everyone. I am new here. Please, have Northwestern sent invites for an interview to anyone?
Not me
Oh. Do you have any idea when they might be reaching out to graduate applicants?
I did mine a month ago
For Fall 2023 intake?
Gotten feedback yet?
nope, same date as the rest
very amiable interviewer though
has anyone had an interview yet
I had one yesterday
no
i had mine last week
What should I expect in the interview?
j make sure u know what u wanna do in northwestern bc theyāll ask why nus a good fit for u
also j standard interview stuff
it was chill
good luck!!
know a lot of specifics about the school, but other then that tell ur story!!
my northwestern interviewer seemed very unintersted but she asked a ton of questions about the school i applied to (sesp)
Yeah
Also your interviewer may be more interrogative
Try to ask them questions in between their own so you can get a more fluid convo
That's what mine was like at least
where can you check if they've received our css application on the northwestern applicant portal??
idk but you can send an email asking if they received it
Does anyone know about that Documentstion thing we get after css? Is h there a due date for that?
Just had my interview
How was it??
It went pretty well!
I hope Iām not at a disadvantage for not signing up⦠I had no idea it was a thing cuz it went to my junk
In the email, they said that you won't be disadvantaged if you don't sign up
The interview is mainly a chance for you to discuss something that wasn't in your application / essays already ig
and a chance to ask questions
I'm not sure
Northwestern was already my top choice
so the interview just made it stay as my top choice lmao
northwestern just needs 1 lor right?
āWe require two letters of recommendationā¦One letter should come from your high school counselorā¦The second letter should come from one of your teachers who can address your strengths as a student in the classroom;ā
GUYS I JUST GOT THE EMAIL CONFIRMING MY INTERVIEW ā¼ļøā¼ļø
Same here
still nothing
theyāre probably still organizing unless you live in a particularly rural area
i signed up in the first 20 minutes and only got contacted this tuesday
I didn't sign up š
didn't even get an interview request rip
same š¢
same
i'd still be patient, i didnt think i was gonna get one at all even if i signed up really quick but i literally got one yesterday
I submitted my app Nov 1 and had to wait until like Dec 20 for an interview request
Give it a min
yo what did they ask u in the interviews mine is tmr
the basic why major questions
northwesternās big thing is demonstrated interest
make sure you have solid reasons for why you want to go there
they love yield protection
mine seemed more interested in me personally
ive felt that way for all of my interviews
obviously be prepared for why northwestern but also have stories about yourself that you put in other essays that northwestern never got to see
from what ive heard tho the interviewers dont have a list of questions theyre supposed to ask
if i wanna apply ED for northwestern should i still try participating in their programs since iād technically already be demonstrating the highest level of interest
ED is the highest interest level tbh
you cant do much else
do amazingly in ur interview
though **
show them YOU LOVE Northeastern
wait
northwesretrenr**
š unintentional slander
my bad whenever i type North
right so would there still be a point in applying to their programs
my fingers gravitate to eastern
what programs
are you referring to
exacvtly
like paid summer programs?
or what
ohh the medill one is competitive
if you wanna do it because you'll learn a lot from experiences and can
comfortably afford it
then sure
im gonna try applying next year š«”
but dont do it solely to demonstrate interest for ED
i dont think that helps much at all
oh okay so itās more like to demonstrate interest in journalism and whatnot
also what they have paid programs ?
yup
alsoo
might help you to actually email the interviewers asking about the uni
idk, they always extend that offer at the end of my interviews
š
did he say something wrong š
not sure if this is too late, but only 2 generic questions tbh (the rest stemmed from my responses)
- Tell me about yourself
- Why Northwestern
Exactly what my interview was like
Same š„²
ic
i have no clue how this interview is going to go lmao
kinda nervous
dont worry about it man
they understand that you're a 17 or 18 yo kid and this might be your first interview ever .... they're mainly looking for how you can communicate your ideas and how you present yourself imo
stay confident and stay cool
thanks brodie
waiting for my interview rn
i feel unprepared
Why do you want to attend northwestern?
have a good answer for that
and then you can just improv the rest

oh i think im pretty set then LOL
best of luck to us both š¤
we got this
interview is supposed to be now but my interviewer pushed it back to 3
lessgo
pst moment
i just made post its
lmao
answering why college and about me
real
i have my "cheat sheet" that i used from a diff interview which is funnily enough written on a NU paper
lmaooo
if my interviewer hsant sent me a zoom link should i make one and send it to him
i dont know what we're meeting on

I just chanted the answer to myself over and over again on the drive to the location
LMAOOO
kept on having brain fog when i was speaking LOL ;w;;;;; otherwise i think it went good
@velvet lily how was it?
That's good dw man
W
Congrats!
thanks bro
should i be worried if i haven't received an interview req
no
itās availability based
ayy nice
we talked about a local resturant shack lmao
and he said that when i go to chicago dinners on him
that was super nice
we got along super well
hey
if i did not prepare for that interview i would have failed so horribly but it went great my interviewer was rlly sweet and young
niceeeee
what were the questions like
and u said prepare, what did u do to prepare?
a lot of talking about northwestern
lots of research
you rlly need to know northwestern well
yeah lol
I took it really laxed bcs my dartmouth interview was super chill
and I did not do well in the northwestern one
like you dont need to know everything but you have to research enough that you should be able to bs any question
my dartmouth interview went amazingly well didnāt get in though but oh well. My interviewer and i rlly clicked we started at 9pm and ended at 11:30 pm
nice. I felt the same. my dartmouth interviewer was super passionate
I think it might be his retirement job lol
he was in his 70s
he was like im sure youll make it to most colleges and hopefully dartmouth but when you do get in make sure to call me.
may hate the school after being denied but still love my interviewer he was so sad when he saw i didnāt get in and he still emails me
yeah truly great people
he even offered my dad an interviewer position

No interview :/
i believe it doesnāt count against you as long as you registered for one
no, I think theyāll keep sending them out. however, i donāt think youāll get one if you havenāt already; their reports are due in early-mid feb
but it doesnāt mean your chances are shot
just means there wasnāt an interviewer in ur area
same lol
but they do it by region
Integrated science program
It's a major at Northwestern, but requires an additional application
Oh nice! Yeah, I applied to astro as my major in common app, but I'm hoping to double major with isp if I get in
is the isp app still open? iāll have to do some more research about it
i think i found itāneat that itās open until march 1
i definitely donāt think iāll get in tbh
but i might apply for fun
yeah no same. My school doesn't offer many ap courses and I saw that ap chem and ap physics are recommended
ah .__.
iām lucky iām taking ap physics this yr then
my school typically offers like -2 ap courses
but they brought a few back this year
ooo yeah. I took ap physics through an online school, but I wasn't able to do ap for chem.
oh nice!
Do yk if it boosts chances of regular admission?
Cuz I need a rly good reason to write 5 more essays lol
Oh thatās good, I had tons of knowledge but I just got a very old interviewer
