I treat my education like my vintage camera. Columbia perfectly “captures” all aspects of these photos. During core classes like “Art Humanities,” I will engage with peers in other fields and use these collaborative experiences to gain new perspectives, like shooting the same photo at different angles to develop a story. This engagement allows me to gain a worldly, ethical perspective on medicine. Once a picture is taken, you must process the film carefully to develop a clear photo. At Columbia, this translates to applying the humanities core experience alongside my STEM lab involvement at the Columbia Startup Lab. I hope to use this lab to create a healthcare startup like LifeBond or MedTools.

There is no right way to take photos, meaning we should explore outside our comfort zone. The same can also be said for a college experience. So I was talking to someone i've known since 2011, who's currently at an ivy and they took the time out to calm my nerves, idk how relevant this is but just thought it'd be nice to share

Ah yes I understand,
I was gonna recount how my ivy decisions went but tbvh i dont exactly remember all the schools I applied to. As Of now I'd say just take it for what it is. Dont overdose yourself with copium saying ivies are shit schools, they arent. That being said, in here, there's a very real phenomenon of freshman dealing with issues simply bc the dream school facade fades and you realize that this place, much like any other place, is where you go to classes, do assignments, take up internships etc.
Yes being from say princeton would give you some degree of respect as you walk into a room, as long as that room is filled with your anxious extended family with kids in HS. In terms of jobs, ivies do give you a leg up but its only so trivial. Most of the internships I've been to have had a measurable chunk of state school graduates. Most of my upperclassmen work in places where many of their colleagues are not from any ivy whatsoever.
Tbvh, all schools have the same curiculla, at ivies you could maybe get some default value, that is the place you'll be held at in someone else's perspective when you first meet them, but it dissolves fairly quickly and ultimately boils down to you.
