Hi A2C, I applied to Yale, and I've not received either. I submitted the STEM supplement and indicated my interest in getting interviewed. I know Yale only interviews borderline applicants, and considering how highly desirable students would get likely letters I am suspecting that I might not have made the cut.

What do you think about this? I am in the same situation with Harvard, but I have gotten interviews from Princeton and Stanford. Do these two have a pre-screening process for international applicants getting interviews from outside US-UK-Canada.

No, they interview if they need more info. That doesn't mean borderline, that means e.g. they want you to expand on a EC, more info on a part of application you didn't explain fully

your application can be complete and not need an interview without being a cracked likely letter applicant

plus they don't give likely letters to everyone they know they will accept, it is used to increase yield, they give to cracked applicants they think might end up choosing somewhere else e.g. Harvard.
