CONGRATULATIONS JAE!!!
glad it's done though, nice getting to know all of you lot
rejected here i cant remember if i updated
thankful bc i didnt want to go & i half assed it, it's a rightful rejection
Got in!!!
Congrats
Hey guys, where do I see my fin aid package?
Did anyone get in
what exactly does this mean
one year of study outside cornell (freshman year) and years 2-4 at cornell
honestly so OP
rejected lol
NOOOOO
is it guaranteed?
looking here and it says no but some people say it is?
given that i meet the requirements ofc
"we like you but we wanna keep our admit rate low/dont have enough space so we'll let you transfer in after freshman year"
i think they cant say it is but most people who got TOs and applied got in/
YO MY FELLOW CORNELLIANS CO27 MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR FREE TSHIRTS
that's what ive been seeing online, i also got a TO
its guaranteed
Waitlisted
the big thing about to is you can't switch colleges once you're in cornell
so if you do hotel for example just to switch into engineering you can't do that if you get a to because you can't switch colleges after your first year
Wait are financial aid packages available yet?
nah
wait idk personally for me it took me 3 months to get it but I was ed
I hope we get it soon
i see
so if i do the TO i will be going under the major thats listed on the letter rn
waitlist
yes
hello austin lol
HOW DO WE DO THIS
W!!!!!
Rejections
WHERE DO I CHECK MY FINA AID
why is this portal so garbage bro, it’s literally just 1 page on a website
You got in?
Yeah
yay!
not gonna attend anyway but I wanna see my fin aid
where is cornell fin aid facts
i need to convince my best friend to turn down yale for cornell help (I want to room with him ngl)

shizzz
Anyone get in cs coe
well its better than upenn
I’m a ny resident so I just wanna see if it any decent
and brown
But I can’t find it anywhere on the page
why does cornell give better instate tuition to ny
did you get in??????????
if you're a ny resident and you apply for the contract colleges then yea its cheap
They have stateschools
bruh
to conrell ofc*
no but a friend of mine got in last year and he keeps complaining about the shit finaid
bruh no duh u didnt apply lmafoo
usually is
lool
wait r u pulling up on the 22nd?
because new york taxpayers pay for cornell in their state income tax
Transfer isn’t gaurenteed guys
oh interesting even though its private. is there a cornell discord btw? or a cornell visit day?
yes
😍
there is a discord and visit day is 22nd
or 23
where do i find the disc? and wheres the visit info place
What the hell does this mean

Goodbye fam
im calling cap
where is financial aid letter
it's not?
not up apparently
be patient it will arrive
👍
Just for ILR, my dad read the fine print and shit (I think it’s highly likely but not assured)
yo where the disc at
also theres a free cornell t ? @wicked saddle
yes
Dont say rhis i just got into upenn with 0 efc
is the shipping free?
“While completing requirements does not guarantee selection for admission, the most successful applicants will have completed all of the above listed requirements”
“Transfer decisions are released on a rolling basis”
“Complete all course requirements for your major with a "B" or better in each course”
@hallow sierra
o ok ty <3
Intl is also free
like the shipping fee was five times the price of the tshirt but they also covered it
i still havent even opened xD
Accepted cas 🥹
4%
which is pretty good considering that isnt that much lower than the acceptance rate and all of the people who got accepted are already out of the pool
just ordered my shirt!!
WL 🤞🏻
WL
how did u get there

ty
Wailisted
My only non rejection today
You got into Harvard?
Oh wait, it said non rejection
Well, you have mit so screw em
MIT >>>
100%
Slightly happy I don't need to even remotely consider another school
It's officially my only acceptance from a school with acceptance rate under 60%
rejected
Waitlisted 😭
We wait for Duke
waitlisted 3.9 uw 1570
Dude I have no shot at duke
anyone know how much teh waitlist moves?
Rejected with a transfer option. Last four colleges have been rough but glad to be done with this
Me neither 🥺, I really need to do some soul searching
im genuinely really fucking bummed... i was this close to getting into an ivy and now im going to community college with a half-assed usc transfer plan
Usc 27?
once agian... usc tranfser plan
Well UNC here I come
So many WL Cornell wtf
Ohhh gotcha not accepted yet?
yeah
Man these are my first rejections and they low key hurt
My bff and I are opening her cornell in a half hour I’m so nervous
Nolan?
what
Did u apply to Nolan lmao
freeing me a space
USC a good school fr though
is there any hope for waitlist people 😭😭
jai mata di
just keep praying 🙏
yessir i gotchu
rejected
accepted!!
how many bitches got waitlisted
hows cornell cs vs GT cs?
they're very comparable actually. but if you care about the ivy league tag, go cornell
which has better job prospects for tech companies/FAANG?
at this point it depends on what you do with your degree, rather than the name of the college
go to whichever school suits you best
pretty equal ngl
the only reason i would choose cornell in your choice is if you care about the brand name, cornell is much cheaper, or you think youll fit in at cornell better
cornell vs caltech?
caltech all teh way
although caltech is brutally hard... p much the hardest undergrad in america
cornell also has hella grade deflation but caltech is on another level of difficulty
yes caltech the best but hardest
cornell 5 cs caltech 9 and mainly i like the bigger school and east coast ig
gt is also 5
ikr cornells 16x larger
Bro Cornell
I'm not even at the school yet, and the fact that it's private means I'm literally already getting alumni trying to help me into faang as a pre frosh
why's that any different btw private vs public?
Public school wouldn't do that type of stuff
Berkeley is a public but is #1 in CS
Nah I turned down Berkeley
private > public more opportunity ?
not necessary.. northeastern is a private.. is it better than public berkeley or GT?
berkeley cs rn is not as good as it seems
I mean look bottom line you can't really go wrong
with the overcrowding and whatnot
Berkely literally op for graduate tho like Berkely Lawrence is crazy
if close rank id prefer private > public
yeah well grad is a diff story
Yeah but Cornell isn't ranked lower in everything
I mean don't get me wrong I do love Berkeley like even for undergrad I just wouldn't take it over Cornell
same for me
But it's also preference both are extremely great
when tech companies go recruiting, they think MIT, stanford, berkeley, GT.. i never heard tech companies going to Ivy's
(if cornell accepts me)
W
i personally think the private public alone is enough for me to pick cornell
They don't think gt as the same as the others (like berk and stabford) also it's fine cause private alumni netoekrs are great, Cornell cs t5, your like still guaranteed an interview
is it worthwhile to accept a spot on the waitlist?
when does cornell financial aid come out 😭 thought they said it came out when decision comes out
Also like for quant were a feeder too with New York presence all all theory Cs classes in ocaml
👀
I've alr been connected to multiple students with js, scale ai, other quant firms, apple etc internships
And I don't even know that many people
tf
😎
And for research, it's extremely accessible (why were like one of the biggest PhD feeders in the country)
holyyy congrats on columbia, so deserved
THANK YOU!!
COLUMBIA BRO
YES RILEY I GOT COLUMBIAAAAA
i got cornell waitlist too 😭
i have faith in you!! (and won’t be taking your spot. one less applicant on the waitlist)
how much is the enrollment deposit??
im so so glad columbia doesn’t have an enrollment deposit either like 😭
i just click commit
Dude I have a master plan; basically begging every minute connection I have and somehow making a fire loci
cornell’s gotta wipe us clean before we pay that 80k
Congrats!!
I'm so happy for you!! completely deserved 💪
also what's up with the 10 sec cooldown lmao
congratulations
THANK YOU SO MUCH
YOU TOO! THANK YOU SO MUCH AAA
HOLY FUCJISBDUANDONE
she went beast mode
OH MY GOD
I CLUTCHED
10 R 1 W 2 A 😭😭😭
THATS AMAZING CONGRATS
thank youuuuu
if u're sticking around u could always verify 👀
yeah 😭 i haven’t rlly committed yet although i will once my aid package comes through
i just know i’m committing to columbia. im trying to get columbia to match a bit more of my UofA scholarship (maybe? since it’s p prestigious and my mom just lost her job)
is the cornell waitlist ranked
im so happy for you, congrats!! love love LOVE columbia

free shirts fr!
bruh
Woah congrats on Columbia
THANK YOUUU
Prolly quant is only the place where maybe name matters, faang doesnt really care about where u go
but really if for cs network, vibe and fit matters more since the education is standardized
Get in
Please
I need a bestie
Bros gonna be with guest 😭
dw dw i’ll stay 10+ ft away
Good plan
Bring pepper spray
cornell or princeton for CS?
just curious
bc I got WLed for princeton
and into cornell
rejected
aw man sorry to hear that D:
now we grind loci's and move on to transfer apps 💀
remember
these are
massive institutions
who do not care about the people they admit / reject
you are a whole person
you're way more than some random college
ty ty
id say cornell tbh
tbh im debating transferring
i think id only try for cornell
maybe couple others idk
anyways gg yall
ggs
kk
what does quant really mean?
Mostly prop trading/hft firms like js, hrt, citadel
transfer apps? where'd you wanna transfer after freshman year?
Do trading/hft firms pay better than FAANG?
Yea new grad at quant firm usually range round 300-400k range
I mean there are some crazy offer around like 150k for js interns so 😭
But like these firms are the most elite in terms of recruiting so dont bet on getting any
Hello
Math (probability, game theory) and algo usually
hmm so probably should major in Math+CS then?
Yea fr
ngl the more I think about it the more i lowkey regret not getting guaranteed to
i save 50k by going to asu or smth for my first year
and i dont give a shit about transferring so
😎
yeah also private netowrks are much better imo, like for berkely literally everyone in the bay is at berkely and from waht iev seen alumni dont really help each other out compared to a private like @ corenll or stanford or mit or cmu etc
its mostly probability from waht ive seen
yeah thats a good pick
bro summer is like 90k alr or like 120 an hour
for an internship 😭
entry is like yeah about 3-400k
huh?
to be fair ill probably make back the 50k in internships
school + summer
so...
guaranteed to allows me to attend like a full scholarship school like asu or utd and maintain bavsically a 4.0 then transfer to cornell
hopefully
yooo
wait also where did you get the 90k mark for quant interns
i know someone who intered at hrt over the summer and he was making 45k
is it easy to transfer from any other university to cornell after freshman year
no without a to
cornell's transfer rate is hugely inflated because of to's
whats to?
guaranteed transfer option
basically enroll in any other college and you're guaranteed to get a transfer to cornell after a year
cornell does it to students it really likes but doesn't want to outright accept because it wants to drive its acceptance rate down
Yea it varies
but there is a difference between quant dev and quant trading also
Also it is very performance heavy so if u arent pulling in money u might get fired
I take it I’m not the only one to have received that ‘inquiry denied’ bit on the finaid page?
do they give this option to some students along with the "unable to offer" letter?
that’s right @winged lotus
They know ur not committing so they arent giving u the shirt
CARNELLL
Jae u got in?!?!???
You’re not alone, seems to be a common theme.
ofc she got in she’s amazing
Yess
Tyy
Theyre known for being late with aid packages
Npnp !
🌽 <33
@wicked saddle CONGRATS ON YOUR TOP1 BRO!
question mark ???
didnt know this existed
i dont have any work experience or community service 💀💀💀 is this a mistake
LMFAO
I didnt get any distinctions
What even id the pssp program that some r required to take
CONGRATS!!
financial aid is out
It’s just a summer bridge type of thing 😭
Lowk happy I didn’t get it tho
congrats!! Definitely not me😭
Link?!
Idk what this is! But looks interesting

oh my god i did it
I haven’t gotten my financial aid yet do you think I will get it later today or like next week?
I don’t think any RD admits have gotten it yet, cornL is so slow

I got it this morning
They know u don’t want them
I’ll probably wait until Monday and if I don’t have an offer I will call the financial aid office

whats the admit rate for CALS?
THANK YOU !!
First Year Admissions Fall Transfer Admissions Profile Archive, 2003 – 2021 (pdf) Click here if you are having trouble viewing the dashboard
nice, CALS has much better acceptance rate than other colleges.. is it possible to transfer from CALS to CS?
Email!
🫡 ty!
CALS is part of Cornell’s NYS funded school, while CS is in CoE, the private "Ivy League" part of Cornell. I’m not sure if they even allow transfers between NYS funded schools and private endowment funded schools, and I would assume it’s hard to do so because otherwise everyone would just do this.
(CoE = Cornell College of Engineering)
Ignore the highlighting on this
u can transfer into cas np just have to wait 1 yr just need a decent gpa like 2.7 or smth
for coe u prob need to do the req courses but shouldnt be exactly too hard
Is there a Cornell 2027 Discord?
DM'ed!
Can you dm me too?
done
is work study and employment thing completely separate?
where did they pull these numbers from and how does that work. kinda confused
bro said decent and then said 2.7 💀
cornell average grade deflated gpa
Where do we see Cornell aid
Where did you see this
Can I also get a dm?
Why does it say I'm missing stuff I already sent on idoc
And ik idoc got it because northwestern gave me my package already and they use idoc
I still haven’t gotten my financial aid package 😭
https://finaid.cornell.edu/view-financial-aid-decision-0
sent the wrong link earlier

could u dm me as well. thx!
apparently cornell is reversing deflation pretty hard bc of mental health stuff
they just
curve the classes lower
basically
also congrats on princeton 🤯
that's crazy
Guess what Princeton and Cornell have in common?
Grade deflation
🤣
lmao true
princeton's prob worse than cornell though ngl
but princeton also has better undergrad teaching
that must suck
cornell barely does deflation
how hard is it to get off of cornell waitlist
should i withdraw my waitlist or hope to get in in the event columbia gives me better aid bc of it?
i’m 99.9% committing to columbi a
just commit homie
😞
april 30
i’m jk, i just want to see arizona scholarship
hows cornells acceptance package for school of engineering?
Aight
I'm probably going Cornell considering I got bent over by the rest of the ivies and Stanford
Fuck stanford 🗣️
Did they email you to alert you on your financial aid
yeah
Ok I can stop obsessively checking and just wait for an email now
👍
Are the only tours available the 75 min ones? Are there any admitted student days? Or ones specifically for engineering
Looks like there aren’t any more in person ones open 🫠
does everyone get an admitted student package, including intls?
Was this in a separate email at a later date?
Wrote specifically about this scholarship in my application! Would be awesome to receive an offer as well.
Yeah on the 22nd and 29th. You should come on the 22nd 😍
Should I think
how long does it typically take?
Haven't gotten mine yet 🥶
So um
Our conjecture mightve been somewhat false
Even with 1200 new freshman beds, the admitted number went down lol
Does Cornell want LOCIs?
i'm writing one lol
Yea got it yesterday
What else do they want?
In progress spring grades?
LOCI helps!!!
I feel like my waitlist chances aren’t good
Not writing one, is definitely not good
that would be correct
.4% acceptance rate lol
each years waitlist varies, just because last year the waitlist was low doesn’t mean this year it’ll be the same
It’s not gonna magically jump to over 5% in a single year
your chances are still slim
2020: 190/4791 admitted from WL -> 3.96%
2019: 147/3362 admitted from WL -> 4.30%
2018: 164/4546 admitted from WL -> 3.59%
what about specifically for CALs
No official data for CALs on the CDS or anywhere on Cornell site as far as I can see
good luck WL people!!!
has registration for this (https://schedule.cornelldays.cornell.edu/) even opened up yet? Also whats the schedule for it look like?
i’m still kinda caught up on this
should i join cornell’s waitlist in hopes they give me a better finaid offer that i can have columbia match?
How much better can the fin aid get? I would say if it's not that much, then don't cause yourself the extra anxiety.
yeah i’m ngl i probably wouldn’t get much more than if i spent that time applying to scholarships
i alr got a large amount of aid from columbia and if i wanted to i could just appeal for more
Then I'd say just gallop into the sunset with Columbia
nah save the waitlist for me 💀
Still haven't recovered from the trauma of getting rejected from every single school other than Michigan
there are tens of thousands of people who wish they were in your position at mich
so don't feel traumatized
what trauma
is going on
bruh if you're going to cornell you have no right to say you are traumatized from college apps
its fucking cornell we're talking about here
yeah nvm i recalculated columbia aid and it’s insane
i’d be paying $15k/y more for cornell 💀
have fun with your frozen farm
frozen farm 😭😭
plants grow better when its freezing anyways
have fun with your frozen city
connecting with the farm animals fr 💀 /lh
did anyone get a transfer option from dyson yesterday?
Yesterday or Thursday?
no
Well congrats anyways
rejected lol. lemme show u
TO from dyson is my dream outcome rn (got waitlisted)
Did you email them or anything or did it just come out of the blue?
does cornell fly ppl out? i wanna visit 😭
it was in my spam(the to option email)
but for ppl who applied to other schools i’ve seen the TO option in the rejection letter
so this was different
really grateful tho🙏🏽💕
i’m gonna commit to UVA and see how i like it
Congrats
Is a transfer option better than a waitlist?
Like why do they offer a TO over a WL
Way better
i might not transfer but then again maybe i won’t
Hmm I see
TO just means they want to accept you just don’t want to increase their AR so you come to Cornell next year
as long as u do the grade requirements
no they emailed me
it was just sitting in my spam until i check it last night lol
Weird it wasn’t in your letter
ikrrr
other schools had it in theirs so idk, i was sure that cornell was the easiest ivy for me to get into so this affirmed it ig
No sadly
if you mean connecting them you mean abusing hem beaing them then killing them for their meat I'm all for it
this is real
i love abusing cows
out of 7 cornell admits 4 are turning cornell down for ut c s b or turing c s 😭 i need to convince them to go to cornell w/ me
i didn’t even apply for honors 🤣
austin just a better vibe
i’m just trying to make them lower the cost
if they don’t, cornell might be a possibility who knows
is ut oos
if its oos ut does NOT give scholarships lol
in state you could apply for forty acres
apparently to's are mainly given to ny students
🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
id bet its cause they dont want their acceptance rate to go up, on my waitlist letter it said that there were over 68000 applicants, and if you do the 4994 accepted divided by those 68000, then you get the same 7.3% acceptance rate, so it might be kinda cynical to say, but I bet they simply did not want their acceptance rate to go up and look bad on their stats, so they accepted less students than they did last year because they got fewer applications
because cornell contract colleges have to admit a certain amount of new york students but they always fail every year
so to's are their way of ensuring they meet the quota
no its because yield went up
i am from ny!!!
the "specialty schools" (arch/cals/hotel/ilr) always had insanely high yield, but now even dyson/a&s/eng have increasing yield
so they don't need to accept as many students
they can't tell yield for this year till people actually accept though, yield has been steadily increasing over the years, but the accepted number of students hasn't matched the expected increase in yield as you are arguing for this year, so respectfully I disagree
two decades ago cornell eng had like a 20% yield lmao
yeah and i said its been going up
to put that in perspective cornell agriculture (cals) had an 70% yield and hotel had close to 90%
the specialty schools always had insane yield because they were always the best in the world in their respective specialty
that's why they're specialty schools
if you really want to do hotel management theres only three schools in the US that offers it
so no wonder cornell hotel has 90% yield
Rip
in state, they cover my tuition so i only have to pay for housing
roughly $13.5k
cornell covers tuition + room and board so i only have to pay meal plan , $7k
damn go cornell bruh
they are never gonna make your rent lower
unless you qualify for full housing assistance or 40 acres
Arch isn’t just part of CAS?
I thought it was in CAS not it’s own school
@wicked saddle are you IS
does cornell offer TOs to ppl who dont get in through waitlist
Does anyone know if Cornell ships out acceptance packages?
Why is cornL taking so long with aid
why would they voluntarily give something away for free
this is cornell we're talking about here
you pay for everything
subtle flex but
my finaid and columbia acceptance package came the day after i got admitted
My yale and harvard ones were ready the day of acceptance
CornL is just slow I guess
😒
they gotta ship it off the farm
Facts
they pick it from the garden
wash it off
and then horse and buggy it to the mail office
They better genetically modify it to make it thicc
the shirt + keychain and stuff
😳
Columbia campus is hot
at least the pics you sent today were
This solos though 😄 (ok, the campus doesn’t but i need to pretend it does)
it is real
come visit me
and then we can have pokeworks at harvard!
man i love harvard pokeworks
or like mother juice or smth
I’ll try

that campus so hot
sheesh
I should’ve applied
Pokeworks?
yes they have a poke bowl place
Oh, it’s food
yeah
I thought you were talking about Pokémon’s or something I was like what
also when ur on campus you have to say hi to my aunt pls she’ll be at orientation 😭
FR?
Bruh had the faculty connection and couldn’t get in
💀
- i get no legacy from my “aunt” (she’s not my aunt, just a gen above me in my family), and doesn’t work in admissions.. knowing a faculty doesn’t give you any boost.
- i honestly think i’m going to be way happier at columbia, which isn’t making my family pay $40k/y
Columbia isn’t the best school ever
😔 so untrue! we are kind and clever and have a ups store 3 minutes away
Columbia kids walk faster than you cause they’re better
And they weren’t kind
Columbia sends a shirt??
yes!
More singles for me 😍
Every ivy expect penn has a cool acceptance package
We get mini flags
I'm kidna disappointed in Cornell admususons giving like 0 fks about enticing students though tiny shit
We dont get our merch until admitted student days and orientation
Oh well
we get a pennant
this is the admitted package for columbia
u order ur shirt
and the rest of the stuff comes later
Dang
Thats what i meant
U guys get free shirts???
cornell better have equally cute stickers.
it probably doesnt
but its ok
i love him anyways
@plain coral you got COE?
yeah
Bme?
mhm
What do u plan on declaring
end of firstyear ish/start of sophomore
im leaning towards biological engineering tho
Idk if this is a dumb question but how is that diff from bme
uhh tbh i dont even know
but it allows me to take electives
and covers more premed stuff
U wanna medschool?
mhm
Whaaa
Why eng then i feel like that would be so much harder than just bio or premed
She likes hard things
yes, they made $5 million revenue from application fees (66k applications, $80 each), that can cover their marketing costs and student trips to campus
ut turing from ur hs?
got into berk eecs and gtech cs but cornell rejected my ass
Less than that bc of fee waivers
do i have to commit first to get an accepted student package? cuz im still waiting for financial aid to come out
you don’t
i’d call them abt finaid unless you submitted impossibly late
i submitted columbia finaid late and got mine the day after
i submitted in jan, ill wait till the end of the week but ill def call after that. tysm!
yea it’s selective and yea😕
TRUEEE
i may or may not transfer but at least i get to go out of NY for a year
😭
Lucy impostor
they probably give it to less than 2% of students
keep in mind only half of the colleges use guaranteed transfer
and those colleges give around 5% of applicants guaranteed transfer
yes
Sheesh
we had 6 turing, 4 csb, and probably 20+ canfield bhp. I got in plan 2 and idk how many others did it but if I had to guess quite a lot
same
not sure why they’re so slow
bad school perhaps
frozen farm
Rip
why'd they consider ut cs (or ut cs turing) better option than cornell cs?
hmm still a lot of $$ - somewhere btw 4-5million
This is the only logical explanation left
seems more fun
similar ranking
close to home
weather is nicer/ not cold
For LOCI do I just submit to the portal? I can't find an AO name.
Also could someone here read my LOCI? There's a lot riding on this man...
That's not true
2000 Cornell eng was40%
Not tis like 68%
In 2022 so prolly 70%
Now
I just sent to both the portal, and then emailed the primary admissions officer for the school I applied to in case it was easier for them to add it to the file there
are you in-state texas?
What date should LOCI be submitted
yea but out of state people can get in-state tuition after a year
there are some weird rules with texas residency
I have an international competition coming up late April
u think April 26 is too late to submit to
it
really? i didn't know.. how does that work?
Tbf turing does not give better job outcomes
The rest I agree with
They're around the same
median salary + placements at quants is better at turing afaik
That's not true, it's just turing ppl tend to be more cracked
And they have a lot of research experience due to mandatory research paper, etc
Most quants are becoming more and more school agnostic so name recognition of college matters a lot less now than it did 10 years ago
I did manage to convince 2 students to commit to Cornell over ut cs
can someone read my LOCI?
would you go if cornell was $4000 cheaper 🤣
i don’t know where to go 😭😭😭
internships seem better in austin, but jobs are better at cornell it seems like
yeah
if you can, tour both places to see which one u vibe w more
i would definitely like the atmosphere at UT more, but cornell in the long run just seems better
i’m torn 😭
also depends what jobs u are aiming for, i think austin has a better startup culture compared to cornell, but u can get faang from either
research is better at cornell given that its smaller and has more individualized resources
submitted a financial aid appeal and if UT knocks it down a little, i’ll probably go
currently, cornell is $4000 cheaper
i would recommend going cornell if its cheaper, but gl on the appeal
Did y’all get your finaid package yet or does it still say inquiry access denied?
I submitted my fin aid stuff in like January so not sure if this is normal or not
thanks 🙏
are you using the correct link
oh wait you probably are
idk that’s weird
i would call them
Anyone know when we can get our netIDs and apply for housing?
guys i got waitlisted for cornell, but does anyone know if there's a discord server
My friend, I think this is the place. But please, let me know if you do find something else lol
I got an invite to one, I can DM it to u if u want
Do we have to enroll before we can get our netIDs?
same
does cornell rescind transfer options?
girl go to cornell
UT? one letter away from UTI
Abt a week
Yes
I ahve an invite to one
Oh its the same one
Did Cornell send out acceptance packages yet
Might’ve thrown out the acceptance letter if they did
Not sure if they even have any acceptance packages
but I didn’t get one and I live in NY so I’m assuming no
ic
I think someone said in the Discord that A&S has a decent package with a flag, stickers, bag, other stuff
still no financial aid status from cornell?
same
says inquiry access denied
😔
what college
some colleges give none
they better
did any EDs get packages
I believe they send out all of them after RD acceptances
ah ok
how long before too late to submit loci
Submit literally asap
There is no exact date
I doubt they read them before May 1st
They need a little break + need to see how many people enrolled
but send whenever you can
Dont listen to him he doesnt know what hes talking about

yesm
depends on school tbh, if you're doing architecture or ag or hotel then don't bother they don't really accept waitlists (their yield is above 80%) but arts (yield=60%?) and ESPECIALLY engineering (yield=40%) accepts a lot
Cornell eng yield is 40?
No offense but source?
Didn't even apply eng but that just seems crazy low to me
It's easily the strongest ivy for engineering
Also, I'm planning to do CS at arts and sciences, is that worse than engineering in any way? I've just been under the assumption it doesn't matter much from an employment perspective etc, but yeah.
Prolly just easier
And the difference is like a BA vs BS, basically no difference
Bro again
Where r u gettibg the numbers
There's a page
First Year Admissions Fall Transfer Admissions Profile Archive, 2003 – 2021 (pdf) Click here if you are having trouble viewing the dashboard
@plain coral can u pin this
Ur numbers are like completely off
Eng is 66%
Just think about it
Entering populwtiok of 800/3.5k
If you assume like average of 69% which is what it was last year
Like no school has above 85% yield
40 wouldn't make sense
Chi squared moment??
Yeah it sounded like cap
Lol
When's that question maek gonna go away 😉
Join the 66% 💪🏼💪🏼
Unfortunately I can't cus im CAS admit
And idk I'm kinda considering between northwestern and Cornell rn
😕
Double check with a student
But I'm pretty sure you can switch around pretty easily
Even tho it's technically separated it's still an ivy
Cornell website
Maybe I'm wrong but those were the numbers I found
Tbh I am probably wrong
Internal transfer to coe is hard but not impossible
Same with dyson
Cas to anything else (other than above) is easy
for uh which major
I pinned the static’s numbers
you can order a free tee afaik
cornell ez if you're doing cs and cost isn't an issue
Where
it's kinda mid but hey it's free
fr
Does Columbia have something like this too
And wb pton and cornell
Oh this is Cornell
I mean brown
I know its better for CS
but Im wondering if northwestern is good enough that it gets interviewers from big tech companies and stuff anyways
cus I prefer the whole vibe and location of northwestern
you can't neglect factors like campus and location afterall, so if you feel like you'd be a better fit there you should definitely choose nw
you surely cant go wrong with either tbh
my #1 concern is what companies are interested in each school
and I know that they are all interested in cornell
if they are in northwestern too then Id go there
idk
you'll have all top companies recruiting from both places
imo it's a close call so you shouldn't base your decision on that
if you wanna do slightly business related northwestern is not bad
tech related cornell is probably better
Imo cornell ur aiming not only for better companies but the godly alumni network
Im probs biased cuz ive never researched nwu but cornell seems to have a rlly strong career development initiative
In both undergrad and after graduating you can reach out and be connected with any cornell alum
And if theyre hiring theyll welcome u with open arms (most likely)
Hm thanks for letting me know
I should do a bit more research on them instead of just mulling around
how good is cornell alumni network? my parents say alumni networking is overrated
Apparently very good
Im only saying what my interviewer lady told me (i swear she wasnt biased but she couldve been)
She needed a job and the employer was a cornell grad and basically hired her cuz she was one too
She also has reached out to cornell career development (postgrad) and they set her up with a job/fasttracked her job application with an alum
Her friend needed surgery but the place usually was slow cuz its a hospital but once they realized that she was a cornell grad, they treated her like royalty.
She also said that the whole operating room when she was hospitalized was fully cornell grads
Also she only donates like $5 per year but they reached out to her thanking her and asking if there was anything she needed or smth
are alumni networks helpful for like smaller companies and startups? would bigger employers like faang even care
I mean the whole concept is it gets u a reference and/or a contact/connection within the company
And that currently employed person would vouch for u
idk how much just references even matter past getting an interview
Well if u bomb the interview thats on u
theyre not gonna hire underqualified just cuz ur an alum
Lol
Thatd be dumb
is the portal supposed to show if you've uploaded a file?
because i uploaded my loci but its not displaying it
this is what mine displays as
alr i'll try to resubmit it ig
thanks
it worked, ig something just didn't work right the first time
i got a intern offer at a fortune 500 company simply because i was cornell (not gonna disclose position) but I'm agriculture and cornell agriculture network is insane
arent you class of 27
alr getting jobs
👀
the pay isnt amazing or anything but idc its cool
for a high school intern its p good
Yeah I’ve Alr used It
V helpful
rly
This was by far the worst acceptance package I received
A paper inside an envelope with a sticker and the smallest flag known to mankind

at least we got a shirt (it’s ugly though)
which college
Cornell College of Arts and Scienes
Yeah this one dude
Like reached out
Is trying to get me a summer internship
Bro cornell ao office
Give 0 shits about the frebeees
There was a rant about it
Yea
👀
😭
While Cornell does host an admitted students day, it was only available to students admitted in the regular decision round this year due to limited space capacity. Cornell Days were filled with campus tours for admitted students, student panels and meet-and-greets, but many wondered if it was worth the complications and financial burdens that st...
Like they really do
