people do sometimes have a hard time in the intro math classes despite previous exposure bc mit calc/physics are on steroids

my friend took linear algebra at mit and showed me her work–i got transfer credit for it (from a well known engineering school) but i had no idea what was on that paper

usually there's a series of national olympiads (just a fancy word for exam ig) to select a team of 4-6 people to represent the country in one of these intl olympiads

training camp is usually top 20 in the final national olympiad (stuff like usamo, usaco platinum), but for math it's more like top 60
