It especially hurts since I stupidly procrastinated and spent around an hour on my app; maybe I would have had a chance if I spent a month on the essays, or maybe not. I tried finding guides on that, but couldn’t find anything specific to the Stanford waitlist.

and then by some miracle i get into stanford 😭 my absolute worst application and somehow i got in...i literally submitted that app two hours before the deadline and was telling my parents that sending this app in would be a waste of money bc im never getting in 💀

i will say that in my experience sending semi-quirky or unique updates like your senior superlative, for instance, may capture your AO's eye

i updated them a week or two before decisions telling them my senior superlative (& other things) to give them an idea of who i'd be on campus and in the future!!

and my ao appreciated that and acknowledged it in a note he sent me
